I wonder if it would stay balanced if the non-infected had a countdown to get infected if they stay still, and then if they get damaged and reset, each time they reset they get the slightly higher minimum speed they must hit for the countdown to pause; and to try to balance that, infected when reset have a percentage chance of getting some random damage proportional to how damage they were, and the random damage also proportional to how damaged they were when they reset...
One one hand having people have to worry about crashing too hard might make things interesting; but on the other, there's a risk it either gets too boring, or everyone becomes zombie to easily...
