I just love this content. Started following your other page for the makeup long ago, but love this one even more. I am the least crafty person on the planet, and have a brown thumb (I tried!), but love watching this. Love your little family, and your projects.
I just wanted to pop in and tell you how happy it's made me seeing videos like this. When you went through your mental break, I was crushed. I have felt that way before and it broke me for so long. It truly lights up my heart to see you happy and being silly with Zack and enjoying life in the present. Thanks for sharing your journey! When you are in the depths like that it seems unfathomable that things will ever get better, but you are proof that if you reach out and find help, you can love life again!❤
Look into the buttermilk/moss blender trick. I collected moss from different parts of our property, blended it in a blender with the buttermilk and used it as a pour in addition to moss transplanting. It has been exactly two years and all of our stone work has moss borders now. 🥰
@@katypomeroy5449 that’s probably a good ratio, I filled the blender half full with one inch size hunks of moss, then covered that in the buttermilk. I had a lot of stone work plus natural stones we just relocated, so in total I used three gallons. It’s a perfect solution for small cracks or crevices.
@@ulla.umlaut I’m in the Appalachian mountains, hundreds of moss variants. I just pulled from different areas naturally grown, not sure which species. I do have some that flower like that.
I loved your makeup videos, but being a mom of a very needy little boy now, this content is way more up my alley. It’s so cool how your channels have grown with me. It’s like you’re my real dad 😉
SERIOUSLY!! Krusti, MUST YOU MAKE US ALL WANT TO COME SLEEPOVER @ Zac-n-Kristi's Bed & Breakfast in the woods? Your home, the scenery, your videos you share with us, all of it just puts me at peace! Thank you my friend.... you are BEAUTIFUL inside & out (don't you ever forget how pure your soul is) 💝
I totally appreciate the tidbit about his naps/sleeping!! I am a first time mom with a little 3 month old and I love hearing about the journey that is motherhood!! This type of content is exactly what I love to see; the planting plus bonus mom content ❤
the world is so full of the depp and heard case right now. and for a while i got really into it, and started feeling so, so disheartened that there was a relatively small but considerable group of people who didn't believe or see what i believed and saw. recently i decided to mindfully disengage from all of it. waking up this morning and watching you lovingly plant moss outside your house while your child peacefully napped ... was just what i needed to reconnect with the world's and my own humanness. thank you. these little videos make a sweet, warm, nourishing corner on the internet. sending you love xx
Ugh I'm so happy you guys are posting again. I love the whole chill garden vibe, these are the perfect videos to just relax to, while also being great inspo and motivation!
Digging with a wrench..totally my vibe 🍃 my children and I are having success this year keeping our potted plants alive 🪴 they get excited every day to see their growth
My 61 year old knees are screaming in pain just thinking about how long you’ve been able to work while kneeling and for an extended length of time. Oh to be young again lol. “I could plant plants all day, every day”. And I could watch you do it all day every day! 😍
You can also take a spade and cut the plant in smaller portions to get smaller pieces. I did a creeping thyme lawn that way and cutting it in smaller pieces eventually makes it grow more vigorously then planting the big pot in one place. At first it looks ridiculous, but after a year it filled in really well. My thyme is in full sun. You’re making me want to try iris moss in an other part of my yard, it’s so cute.
Please film when you plant the next batch of Irish moss! I throughly enjoyed every moment of this video! ..Just like you, I could also plant plants all day long.. and apparently watch someone do it all day long too ☺️
Zack and Kristi- I just have to tell you guys that I am absolutely loving these videos! They are so fun to watch and they are giving me the motivation I need to work on my yard. Between you two and Garden Answer I am living my best garden dreams vicariously through y’all! ❤️🌿🌻
It is so inspiring to watch your new house become such a wonderful and love-filled homestead over the last couple years! Thank you for continuing to share your life with us 💚 you are such a gem!
I feel like we are literally naturally "growing" together in the priorities of life. 🌻 Everything in my 1st year garden is growing great and I've never been so giddy when seeing a handful of green beans in my whole life.
Oh that’s such a great idea to put it down between flag stone! I love Irish moss. Nice and sturdy and so so pretty! I always use it for little filler pieces I need on the ground.
One thing to try. Make a slurry of the whole plant mash up the roots and plant and pour it into the lil cracks. It just grows like magic. Moss type growth is so slow. Like you said keep it watered and every part of it will grow. Love your passion for all your endeavours
This can work really well with true mosses that don't have roots and spread via spores, but Irish "moss" is a very tiny plant that needs intact roots to grow.
That turkey vulture footage was stunning! And thank you for talking about the Irish moss- I live in Willamette Valley OR and our weather is similar to yours. All of your gardening, research and practice helps me. I love this channel.
I've watched this three times. It just totally calms my brain to see and hear you talk about plants while planting. Seeing you in your yard and your home working toward getting it the way you want it to look etc. And just knowing how much you enjoy it makes it even better! Thank you for this!
Irish moss is so beautiful and has so many purposes. Even as pills against a sore throat. Very good choice to integrate it into your garden. A garden is a wonderful place. Maybe the best place to recover from personal stress and to regain strength for other things in life. You are very lucky to own one and to be healthy to care for it and make it beautiful. I had such a sweet little pond with my favorite plants around it. And now I can hardly walk any more due to a very painful neuropathy in my legs. It is becoming a wilderness. I love animals and plants, so I would be very glad to see more content like this.
With the septic, my husband and I had septic people come out, they found the septic, found the cleanout opening, we had a door put on it, then all we had to do is open the septic door, (you can set a planter on the lid, when not having it cleaned.) No more digging up a whole area, just open a door. Also it is perfectly safe, the door is metal and very very heavy. (almost like a sewer manhole cover.)... I'd look into that before digging up my patio.... or you can have a sewer clean out put on on your lateral sewage line.
My Nana had a nursery in North Texas where she grew Irish Moss every winter into early spring. Along with every Herb & Perennial known to man. Especially anything obscure and rare. People would come from all over America. It was amazing.. she was an herbal cult culture phenomenon for over 45 years.. As we are in Texas the heat quickly becomes too much. But the look & feel of the moss... oh, *gawd* it is nostalgic for me. She has been dead since 12.3.20... but everything she taught me about the Nursery Life resides within me. Seeing you & your family attempt a simple garden brings back memories of her. She knew my heart & drive. She *always* said to me "My Darling Jacs, all I want for you is a small family & a small farm. You will be *so happy* !" Watching y'all reminds me of her. Thank you, Kristi 🖤 Much love from North Texas 🖤
I adore your house and yard. And the combination of the path with moss is GORGEOUS. Life goals right here. And awww lookit your boy toddling around! I can't believe he's getting so big already and already just walking around. Like, I swear it feels like just a month ago I was watching your videos about his birth. Omg time just flies by so quick! I love these videos. They're just so nice and chill. Thank you for sharing these tidbits of your life with us!
Beautiful!! Can't wait to see the greenhouse, I just bought one, got some tomato plants, chilli plants, trying to grow ginger, so excited. I'm sure I'll make mistakes but live and learn. My partner call it my Wendy house 🙄😆
Thank you so much for sharing this, I showed my husband and we’re talking about doing the same. We live in Oregon so your information was very helpful!
Those darling little white flowers 🤗, in years to come as you walk on that path hopefully memories of you on your hands and knees will flood back and the satisfaction that you created that beautiful area. Stay safe stay well xxx
Kristi I’m so inspired by what you’ve done/become! I love it and I love you and you’re hilarious always. Thank you for always making my day better with your videos! 💚

Watching your property evolve literally brings me to tears. I live in an area of Texas where "green" isn't a color...I miss it so much. I miss the feel...the smell...all of it. Your property is my little online haven.
It makes me so happy to see these videos of you guys. I have been following since you sat in the old house, talking about being okay with not having children, and filming while all the trucks drove past your house😂😭❤️ with the mental health struggles and loss, it's just so nice to see you creating this space in the best hobbit/Shire paradise and I wish you all the happiness in the world❤️
I LOOOVE Irish moss. My friends put this in their back yard instead of grass so they wouldn’t have to mow. It was so squishy and pretty and their chickens loved it too.
13:35 the timelaps with the little boy running around in between totally gave me Sims vibes. I think the diamond above the head would have been full green. :)
While watching this video, I found myself thinking back to when you and Zack first started gardening in pots, learning as much as possible. Then you started talking about buying land.... and the rest is history. You guys did it!! We bought our land 28 years ago, and have been gardening ever since. We now look forward to retirement in a few years where we will spend even more time in our garden. Our grandchildren spend around a month with us every summer..... and they talk about visiting us like it's some magical place. Maybe it is....😉💖
I just came here to say that you look just so beautiful and radiant. I started my first garden this year and find it joyful! I have 4 kids, the most recent born are twin boys. I am constantly exhausted and seeing you evolve reminds me that it is coming! Phew. So happy for you and this house is really coming together!
Love that you are using the wrench😂😂 something i would do! I have spongebob in my head telling “technique!! Technique!!” 😂 can’t wait to see it all filled in! Its so pretty. Also my son was the same way. If he took a long nap, or a late nap. I pretty much knew we weren’t going to sleep that night lol!
So cute! I love that you garden with whatever you have on hand (wrench!) It shows that it's possible to do even if you don't have all the fancy gadgets. Thank you for making this content, I really enjoyed it 😊
We just had to pump our septic again after only a year! Just make sure there is no issues ughh because we were expecting to only have to do it every "normal" 3-5 years! Love these videos so much ❤️ they are my favorite 😍
You’re doing such a good job! Gardening is such a learning curve and isn’t an entire science! Because it’s so determined in your space and temperature! The best thing is just planting and winging it! And I love ya’ll for it! Xoxox
Fellow Canadian here, so very used to dealing with a lot of ice and snow 🥲 I highly recommend simply using fine gravel or sand for icy walkways. Better for the environment, plant safe. Can just be swept away when the snow and ice melts in the spring/summertime. My parents have a walkways similar to yours Kristi with a lot of moss growing in between the rocks and that is what they do.
I’ve been so busy with work lately that I barely get to watch your videos and I was just curling into bed but it’s time to watch this! Sleep can wait the few minutes
Kristi, this video is SO soothing and speaks to my soul. I love your makeup content, but this is a whole other level. I manage a garden center this time of the year and I absolutely adore it. I literally could watch a 20 hour loop of this! 😍 (I also need your hat, it’s so adorable!)
The house I grew up in had a stone patio exactly like this! But we didn’t have the moss except maybe by accident 😂 I loved it though! seems like way less upkeep to do this instead of redoing the gravel all the time like we did lol!
I just love this content. Started following your other page for the makeup long ago, but love this one even more. I am the least crafty person on the planet, and have a brown thumb (I tried!), but love watching this. Love your little family, and your projects.

I relate to the brown thumb. I live vicariously through others as a “plant mom”.
Both channels are great. This new one is such a good addition to the makeup related one.

The dollar tree sells little foam knee pads for kneeling, they’re in the garden section usually. ❤️
Look into the buttermilk/moss blender trick. I collected moss from different parts of our property, blended it in a blender with the buttermilk and used it as a pour in addition to moss transplanting. It has been exactly two years and all of our stone work has moss borders now. 🥰
I’ve never heard of something like this!!! How much buttermilk do you use? Is it like a 1:1 ratio??
Irish moss isn't a tall moss. It's pearlwort
Irish moss isn't a true moss that spreads via spores, it's a proper plant with roots, so blender methods aren't likely to work very well.

I'm loving the moss. I love stone and moss together. It's such a cozy home feeling to me.
Thanks for the path idea with irish moss. Can’t wait to see the green house video!
Your home and property is turning out so beautifully! Congrats to you all and I like your content.
What a pretty little patio. I’d love to sit there with a mug of tea and a good book.
Love this darling mama. Kristi is a breathe of fresh endearing air. She is an all embracing kindly hug. Blessings to her and her family.
I love moss and flagstone so freaking much. It's perfection really.
100% agree on spending all day planting - it's so satisfying!
I love that you have all this land and all these garden projects and still no trowel 😂 very resourceful use of the wrench though
