Ngl I got the game not too long ago and on my first playthrough I thought about romancing Josephine, but when you spend so many hours on this game, upgrading Cassandra's gear and fighting alongside her (especially as a warrior) it's hard to not get attached to her character. I found myself literally going out of my way to back her up and lunge into battle. The human noble warrior character especially feels like they would naturally lean towards those who can lead, fight be able deal with the politics of the realm, and also the matters of the faith. Can't really deny that Cassandra is the most natural romance in the game.
Despite her tomboyish appearance, Cassandra is worth it. A warrior of the battle field and reader of books yet seeker of justice and truth. Cassandra is strong and tough when it comes to it.
@@ryandunham1047 She doesn't exactly have short hair though. There's enough length to form a braid wreath, I imagine if she loosened it it would look something like Valerie's hair in Pathfinder Kingmaker. Unless it's like a monk's ponytail, wrapped around her head?
You romanced her too late in the game. Certain later conversations have romance dialogue options that only appear if she has been bedded. Also, I would say that her prologue interactions are very much contributing scenes regarding her romance. That is, a Herald who cooperates with her should see more approval from her, and this is especially significant for a mage.
@@cat-jm3vu Well, this was a year ago I posted this, but as best as I can remember, the major part I was referring to was at 1:10:11. Her dialogue is different if you bedded her before that, and you also get an extra reply option that is romance themed. He can say he doesn't care what comes next, as long as it's with her. And I also think there is a variation for if she is on the Divine path or not, or maybe it's there regardless. Anyway, to answer your question, she should be bedded (grove scene) at least before the conversation in the timestamp above. But to get all possible romance dialogues, it should be done as soon as possible, before any of the major quests. In my own case, I think I picked a pretty good moment to solidify the romance. I did the Winter Palace before the Wardens, so I got to dance with Josephine (she's the default) despite having asked Cassandra first. And I headcanon that Cass saw my Inquisitor dance with Josephine and get jealous. This is just better to me than the actual dance with Cassandra, which is rather boring in my opinion. So then after the palace Varric was done with his next chapter, and from there I went forward with the romance until the grove scene. So I would say mid-game is a decent point to lock in the romance. After Skyhold and after one major quest such as Wicked Eyes Wicked Hearts or Here Lies the Abyss.
@@BelieveIt1051 thank you, also that's a pretty fun head cannon, her getting jealous of the herald is a cute idea. I'll probably do that on a few playthroughs
I discovered the dialogue changes for the first time recently. Felt like a new experience. I did it super early the first time, but then I decided to take some time for a chronological style romance, didn't get to the love scene before some dialogue and got the convo about her being my guidance and she called me out for my persistence.
7:00 1:26:06 These two scenes are so important. These are the same words Cassandra uses at the beginning when they decide to begin the inquisition and the same words the Inquisitor will use to either disband or continue the Inquisition. Her nod of approval when the Inquisitor makes their address chokes me up every time. Such great writing. I will admit, I enjoy the female inquisitor's VA so much more especially when it comes to this part. And it's a shame there's no Cassandra romance if the inquisitor is a female -sigh-
I got more of a "Too serious and focused" feel than a mean one. Like the work is too important to care how you feel. And then she shows care in secret when there's no one else in the world.

I actually just listen to this video a lot because I love Cassandra's voice and accent. The voice actress for her is so good, she exerts such passion and confidence in her tone. I'm trying to learn the accent but it's not complete if the words can't be exerted the way Cassandra does. It seems like it requires a lot of work for the diaphragm. On a side note: It kills my soul a little to see Varric treated poorly 💔
Pretty much the only option if your a straight male in this game. But worth it. Her dragon age 2 appearance was better but she’s still good looking here.
The only chicks I find physically appealing in Inquisition were Harding and Cass. No idea what happened to the rest... I assume it's the Thedas version of too much blood magic botox.
Inquisitor has crafted Vanguard armor with the gauntlet and boots attachments crafted with dragon scales etc. For Cass I cheated and used a mod to access all the armors to get her Divine armor early, the mod is called Anhamirak's Stores Overhaul on nexus mods
The only downside to Cassandra's romance arc is that you can't romance her with a female Inquisitor. There's no way this woman is straight and I will die on that hill.

And seeing as how my mage would be at Cassandra's mercy, what with her special ability as a Seeker, I had to play it where he was wise, learned, and also humorous at times, and in certain cases confident and dominant. Never faltering or weak-willed, but never overbearing either. And on a side note, my mage Inquisitor actually made a lot of choices Cassandra disagreed with, but I think still turned out for the best possible outcome. I like to think Cassandra recognized that he made choices she wouldn't have, yet everything worked out. Which led her to conclude that she couldn't have fulfilled his role, and that he was what the world needed. Similar to my female Hawke telling Varric, "The Inquisitor is just who we needed". Yet my mage also credited Cassandra with having the initial courage needed to declare the Inquisition reborn, which made her feel like a true partner in the Inquisition. I think that balance within the romance is what makes Inquisition a better game in a narrative sense. That's something the other pairing options don't have. Josephine is nice and all, but she just seems too agreeable with everything.
