I understand that you’re technically correct, but I’m just kind of tired of the “Um actually” comments for Korean and Japanese stuff when there is so much overlap. I’m Japanese and I live in the US, and I was recently kind of embarrassed when I went to a taiyaki (fish shaped red bean filled cake) pop up and tried to order in Japanese, because they were Korean. It makes sense that Korean people would have taiyaki too, lol because it’s not a particularly novel idea and they also like red bean… I can believe that there are Korean takoyaki “masters” out there. Tbh, I appreciate that people are impressed but I feel like we just used to call takoyaki grillers “Takoyaki no niichan” like just some nice dude that grills takoyaki.
@@yokoakimura no. Takoyaki is literally just a Japanese food. Unlike bungeobang/taiyaki, the food did not just come to be in both countries and is primarily eaten in Japan. It's jsut been more popular in korea recently so street vendors have started to sell them.

Some cuisine doesn't work well in its original place, some gets better recognition overseas to the point to have their own style and flavor. Such as Thai's Tom Yum Goong or Japanese sushi. So It's ok to have Korean style takoyaki my friend, just like when korean invented their own style of fried chicken. If food are bound to ethnicity we wouldn't get to experience or found out new unique cuisines

Takoyaki is hands down the best street food ever imo. The only down side is you have to wait at least 5 mins for it to cool, if you don't cool it will burn your mouth.
Switching the holes shows incredible skill and knowledge of his equipment that some people might miss. Knowing the hot zones in your setup and knowing which pieces need to be in the hot zones and which don't takes an enormous amount of practice to build up the instincts for that
I love seeing how stuff gets made. I’ve only recently started to eat more asian dishes, takoyaki being one of them. Its one of my absolute favorites, and seeing the process of it makes me want some lol
I will never be able to do this not only because of the skill needed but because the sound and feel of the spikes touching the metal would overwhelm me so fast
These are made in Denmark with sweet batter and spices , turned by knitting needles, sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with fruit jam. Delicious.❤❤
Fascinating to see the differences on how they do it in Korea. I've never seen anyone use a stick of butter to lube up the mold in other places, and also the first time I see a spatula being used to break apart the excess batter like that.
