The actor who plays the firearms cop you seemed to recognise is Sean Pertwee. He played Alfred Pennyworth in the US series Gotham and was in the UK horror film Dog Soldiers, among many other film and TV appearances. His father was the much loved British actor Jon Pertwee who played Doctor Who in the 1970s and who was such a large part of my childhood.
Pertwee who played Doctor Who in the 1970s was the first doctor i grew up with but tom baker will always be the best, his son is a greet actor, was great in event horizon
Alan Partridge is hilarious, Steve Coogan does make some funny films, the parole officer is the one I distinctly remember. Also as a movie reaction recommendation, you should watch 4 Lions, such a funny film.
The Deputy Chief Constable is played by the incredible Anna Maxwell Martin, who is one of the greatest actresses of our time. Her show Motherland about a group of mums and a stay at home dad is wonderful, one for Queen B to enjoy as parenthood looms, love to you all x
Yes, that is "the chick from the Inbetweeners movie who was shacking up with Neil", i.e. Jessica Knappett, who also wrote and starred in "Drifters" - about a group of post-university, Inbetweener-esque girls - must be on your list! (originally Channel 4 / All4)
I love watching your videos. As an Essex boy (from the UK) it's lovely to watch other people react to our comedy. I get that sometimes you don't get it but your reactions are priceless. Thank you for liking our comedy as much as I love your American comics.
That was fab. 😂 ♥ 2:18 I have that exact pic of AP in a coaster that I made. 🙂 My wife left me soon afterwards. 😃 Back of the net! ⚽ Glad you enjoyed this. I do hope you try a full episode of one of Partridge's series, the tv stuff is far superior to the film - though I did enjoy the film. I'd highly recommend; 'Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge' (1994) is excellent. In this Alan is a rising star and has his own chat show but he is a very tactless and inept presenter and is often extremely rude to his guests. 30 min episodes. 'I'm Alan Partridge' (1997 + 2002) is outstanding. After killing a man live on air, Alan's career has taken a sharp decline. His wife has left him. And he now lives in a travel tavern near a motorway, he desperately tries to get his career back on track with the help of his assistant Lynn. But makes no attempt to get his wife back (she's a fat cow). 30 min episodes.
So before this alan had a chat show called 'knowing me, knowing you with alan partridge' (one series) then there were two series of seasons called im alan partridge which is about when he loses his talk show. Then there's two seasons of webisodes when he works for North Norfolk digital. Lots of viewing material
Excellent thanks for watching this (I was in the crowd in the movie as it's local to where I live in Norfolk 🤣) like others of said definitely watch the shows if you can! I know it's harder to watch BBC shows over there.
I’ve recently been watching this again and I was hoping you would find it! I watch all your stuff big live from Glasgow 🏴 Alan and the receptionist! Just clips watch that and you will want to watch everything this guy has done he’s a genius 🍀👍🏼🏴
They are all different because of the teams of writers involved. Earlier Partrdge involved Armando Iannucci, Peter Baynham, Stewart Lee and Richard Herring. Later ones were with Rob and Lee Gibbons and so there are subtle but noticeable differences.
To get even more context about Alan, you should delve into KMKY (Knowing Me Knowing You). It was first a radio series then a TV series, a chat show but was cut short due to 'an incident' in the very last episode. Very, very funny. Both were well before the TV series I'm Alan Partridge. Even before KMKY he appeared regularly on The Day Today... it's certainly part of his story, and it was a great programme (a satire on news hosted by Chris Morris and created by Morris and Armando Iannucci, tonnes of other content to get into from both of them...Iannucci also co created and wrote KMKY) but there's little need to go back that far, I'd recommend KMKY.
This is all filmed about 20 mins away from where I live. Norfolk has always been a big part of Alan Partridge and one of the few things that it's known for. Glad you enjoyed! Check out Norwich when you get chance!
You need to start the Partridge journey from the start, (maybe including his Sketches on The Day Today and Brass Eye) Knowing Me, Knowing You (Aha). Then both series of I'm Alan Partridge.
I always felt that this didn't escalate as much as the Simon Pegg trilogy, but should have done. Steve Cougan should have called Pegg up. "We're just not there with the third act yet, old chap. You did the zombie thing, so what should we do with this one, old mate?" Pegg: "My advice, old chap, is to fuck the budget and go nuclear as soon as possible. It's the only way." If Alpha Papa had somehow found a way to include a nuclear war sub plot, it would have been appropriate and I would have enjoyed it much more. I Pegg had written it, and Edgar Wright had directed, the nuclear war plot for Alpha Papa would have been the start point. But Cougan thinks he's so much better than literally everyone else in his industry. So this is what we got. Funny in parts, but mostly weak. A real missed opportunity for a top class farce.
You don't need to go all the way back to The Day Today but you'd perhaps need to start at Knowing Me Knowing You because Alan's character and current situation/predicament in I'm Alan Partridge needs context/back story. I would imagine a lot of the jokes and Alan's nuances in the movie would be lost on any 'Alan virgins' watching.
Couldn't show THIS movie in the US. It certainly _wouldn't_ be a comedy, anyway. There, it's almost cliché that when HR sacks someone, they return armed to the teeth, shooting the place & the people to kingdom come.
The partridge universe is best enjoyed in the order it was made as its full of injokes and self references, especially if you go near the books amd podcasts. At least starting with "knowing me knowing you"
You have to watch the shows! You've done a great job so far of reacting most of my faves, and Alan Partridge is a massive gap in your output (just from a personal preference POV)
100% need to watch the I'm Alan Partridge series in full, it's absolute peak UK comedy
Yes, AP's a hilarious ladyboy lover!
Yep. The film is solid but I’m Alan Partridge is clear.
Honestly a reaction to watching "I'm Alan Partridge" would be legendary. Such an incredible series
Yes, a hilarious sitcom.
Agreed!!!
💯
Jurassic Park!
The best.. CASHBACK!
Also the joke at 3:35 went completely over your head, look at the reflection in his shades 😂
Came here to say that.
I didn't see that the first time either.
I thought he hadn't noticed otherwise it would've been ededited hahaha
Also came here to say that! :D
Also here to point those out
The tune is 'Cuddly Toy' by Roachford, a hit from I think the 90's
4:29 Cuddly Toy by Roachford. Great song, great band.
the parody at the end on the pier of the film 'Falling Down' is genius
It's the reflection in his glasses at 3:35 which gets me every time. Subtle humour is far funnier to me than the more "in your face" stuff.
lol when lyne comes into his shed you can see the reflection of porn on his laptop

Or as I call him Worzel Gummidges son
Pertwee who played Doctor Who in the 1970s was the first doctor i grew up with but tom baker will always be the best, his son is a greet actor, was great in event horizon
The 2 tv series of 'im alan partridge' is about 10 times better than this film.
I like this film but I do agree with you. It would have made more sense to watch them first!
Agree, the film is like Steve Coogan playing Steve Coogan. This Alan Partridge is not as cringy as he was in the tv series.
Yes, that's brilliant.
It's Gibbons-era Partridge, which is definitely different, but I still like it
Not 10x
Great track, Cuddly Toy by Roachford
Colm Meany plays Pat brilliantly.
He's been in loads of things. I remember him in Die Hard 2.
@@pauldavies7746con air too
When Alan is in the shed, did you notice what was in the reflection of his glasses lenses? ;) 03:33
I wonder if the algorithm will.
Ospreys? More like great tits.
That jingle has no right being so fucking awesome.
THANK YOU for watching Partridge, you’re a star!
Alan Partridge is hilarious, Steve Coogan does make some funny films, the parole officer is the one I distinctly remember. Also as a movie reaction recommendation, you should watch 4 Lions, such a funny film.
Rubber dinghy rapids brother
I like it when he's in the car dancing to roachcliffe 😂 I used to be like that myself driving to work 😂 🙌
Mid Morning Matters is the finest Partridge work. Surpasses all previous efforts imo.
The Deputy Chief Constable is played by the incredible Anna Maxwell Martin, who is one of the greatest actresses of our time.
Her show Motherland about a group of mums and a stay at home dad is wonderful, one for Queen B to enjoy as parenthood looms, love to you all x
Alan admits it wasn’t the best it could be but it has some very funny moments
The Trip would be a trip for you both.

The song is Roachford Cuddly Toy, if I rememeber correctly.
This has to be one of the best spin off movies, so many great lines. You need to react to all AP content!
“I’m Alan Partridge” is as funny as comedy will ever get.
That was fab. 😂 ♥
2:18 I have that exact pic of AP in a coaster that I made. 🙂 My wife left me soon afterwards. 😃 Back of the net! ⚽

Not very often have I watched an American whose sense of humour is in tune with British humour
Steve Coogan also does serious sruff in films, like Philomena snd 24 Hr People.
The song at the start is Cuddly Toy by Andrew Roachford. Used to be a favourite of mine too.
Excellent thanks for watching this (I was in the crowd in the movie as it's local to where I live in Norfolk 🤣) like others of said definitely watch the shows if you can! I know it's harder to watch BBC shows over there.
The bit where the police tell Lynn that Alan has her as his next of kin, she thinks a moment and says "take me to him" - genuinely makes me tear up.
We got this film on dvd when it came out. It’s like an anthology to I’m Alan partridge.
Sean Pertwee. Superb. Dog Soldiers. Worth a gander.
Funnily enough I only watched this this afternoon...awesome film..
Never seen, Thank you nutty boy for showing. Laughed too on occasion. 🇬🇧👵😊
I remember seeing this in the cinema lol, love Alan Partridge
I’ve recently been watching this again and I was hoping you would find it! I watch all your stuff big live from Glasgow 🏴 Alan and the receptionist! Just clips watch that and you will want to watch everything this guy has done he’s a genius 🍀👍🏼🏴
The song is "roachford - Cuddly toy"
I'm on pilko watching binge an your notification came up and had to watch. Boomer I love your humour an reactions, brilliant mate 👏
I've seen a lot of Alan Partridge stuff but have not seen this before. From what I saw I thought it was quite good.
3:24 Alan is looking at naughty images they reflect in his glasses
Was just about to say 😂
He missed that one 😂

STEVE COOGAN IS HILARIOUS IN EVERYTHING HE'S DONE!!! REMEMBER "NIGHT AT MUSEUM" HE'S THE ROAN GENERAL OCTAVIUS (MINUATURES).❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤
Have you watched any of the series yet?
My favourite comedy of all time, but I’d worry that he wouldn’t like it and that would devastate me.
@@BenLaws-m9j one of mine too. I'm pretty sure he would like it, judging by the reactions I've watched :)

Knowing me Alan Partridge knowing you the police
@@sargonsblackgrandfather2072 Now I have to watch it again.
_'...be careful with that...'_ 🤣🤣🤣
The song at the beginning is called "cuddly toy" - by Roachford
"The Parole Officer" is a great Steve Coigan movie with a few GOT faces you'll recognise... Cersei and Stannis
You need to watch ..knowing me, knowing you with Alan partridge and then I'm Alan Partridge..Both brilliant series.
This is all filmed about 20 mins away from where I live. Norfolk has always been a big part of Alan Partridge and one of the few things that it's known for. Glad you enjoyed! Check out Norwich when you get chance!

The song is "Cuddly Toy" by Roachford from 1988 :D
There's a continuing series after this, after he's been sacked, moves on to small town night shift radio. Its HILARIOUS, TOO!!!😂😃😅😄😪
YES! I really needed this today!
agree with everyone who said the show 'im alan partridge' is def something you should watch its amazing!!
Filmed partly in my hometown of Mitcham.
Watched some of the filming
The cop at min 10:37 was the big brother screen hologram type guy in Equilibrium if I recall correctly. The voice is very familiar.
He's Keith Allen. He's been in a million things as well being the dad to Lily and Alfie Allen.
Fkn love Alan Partridge, so funny 🤣🤣
The song at the beginning you liked was by Roachford and called Cuddly Toy
I'm Alan Partridge series will always hold a special place on my hard drive, right next to Inbetweeners and Johnny Vegas' Ideal series.
Am on probation
You should watch the Scottish sitcom - Still Game. Although I’d recommend having subtitles on for that one! 😂
Wow. Can't believe it's almost 10 years since I saw this on the big screen.
which means that if Alan(Steve) was 55 back then (as he said early in the film) that means he's 65 now..!
It's the funniest movie many haven't seen yet.
The woman who plays the Chief Constable went to my mum’s old school.
Withnail & I. Funniest film ever. Just a suggestion :)
Jason Tresswell is in my dad's school photo 😄
brilliant reaction, loved it
as per the other comments - definitely do "I'm alan partridge" EPIC series
You need to start the Partridge journey from the start, (maybe including his Sketches on The Day Today and Brass Eye) Knowing Me, Knowing You (Aha). Then both series of I'm Alan Partridge.
The strike team guy is Sean Pertwee, you may have seen him as young Alfred in the Gotham TV series?
If you haven't, I recommend listening to the podcast and audio books 😂 they are great.
Really hope you can find season 1 of, 'I'm Alan Partridge' it's so funny
Not watched your reaction yet but l hope you “get “ Alan , l love this guy . I was thinking of recommending him to you..
Love this movie! And interestingly similar situations have taken place in the US, most notably James Hoskins armed takeover of WCPO in Cincinnati.
Should watch the british film sightseers, another comedy
Oh mate... the show is great!
the trouser scene thats happened to me in an upstairs window once no police and no one saw luckily
Roachford, cuddly toy is tune at start
Another series that's worth reviewing if you aren't planning already is The IT Crowd
Agreed Richard ayoade is quality
Steve Coogan the best comedy writer of 90s imo.
song - Roachford Cuddly Toy
Yes I agree about the tv series
“Feck da police” 😂
He's still got the gun.
Great film
Alan Partridge is hilarious. You wouldn't know from this film that he loves Thai ladyboys!
"Have you seen it Sophie, is it any good?
What Driving Miss Daisy, or Bangkok chick boys?" Hahaha
He's not attracted to them, God no, he just finds them fascinating.
A pint of lager with a gin & tonic and a bailey's Irish cream chaser.

You should watch 'This Time With Alan Partridge' Hilarious series
Next you'll be watching the David Brent movie before watching The Office!
I wouldn't watch unless you've seen all the series' first.
Have you watched I’m Alan partridge the series yet? Only two series but hilarious - miles better than the film 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
O-o you been watching Bo Selecta?
This film won't make any sense unless you first watch The Day Today, where Alan Partridge first started
You don't need to go all the way back to The Day Today but you'd perhaps need to start at Knowing Me Knowing You because Alan's character and current situation/predicament in I'm Alan Partridge needs context/back story.
I would imagine a lot of the jokes and Alan's nuances in the movie would be lost on any 'Alan virgins' watching.
lol the guy from star trek
another series worth watching is taskmaster if you like the inbetweeners it’s hosted by Greg Davies the head teacher
Need to see I'm Alan partridge before watching this really.
Me and the wife tried to get into Alpha November Alpha Lima but it wasn't really our cup of tea.
Couldn't show THIS movie in the US. It certainly _wouldn't_ be a comedy, anyway.
