Although not a fan lf the Axis Powers, these little known participants really sheds a substantial amount of light on such a storied and romanticized, but undetailed conflict: WW2. In highschool, it was taught that the Axis powers were only three nations that took on and almost defeated the world. Thanks to little videos like these, it's proven that wasn't even remotely the case. Thanks.
Also it should be mention, that rear part of IAR-80 was based on PZL-24 (to faciliate start of production), which was produced under licence in Romania. It was curious, that the most modern polish planes were sold abroad, and not used in PAF (Polish not Pakistani Air Force)
In the book of G.V. ZIMIN - FIGHTER PILOTS , you can find a lot of info about years of fighting against German Luftwaffe , Romanian FAAR ,and Italian REGIA AERONAUTICA , starting from I-15/16 ,thru MIG -3 /9 , till LA-7 ....

Most of them were never mentioned by post war history books because romanian history was written by comunists after WW 2. So, as you can imagine, there was no place for them in the Red's historical perspective of that corner of the world, given the fact that most if not all romanian aces achieved this status shooting down bolschevik planes. In some regards, their faith was similar with that of the polish pilots after their return to the Polish People's Republic...Sad ending for such brave souls.

Thanks! It might be possible on the long run. Perhaps it might start as a combination of some kind. For example, Rudel describes attacking some T-34s in a Soviet town which were maneuvering and hiding in the streets. It might be cool to show their point of view as well.
That would be really cool! I have a lot tanks and planes unlocked in War Thunder so if you ever need people to help out I’m sure me and many others would love to help out.
1:45 in one of my several books😂 i can read 13 model B-0 and 11 B-1were sold to Romania. Dont know many info about Heinkel 112. It was poor parent of aeronautics books.
The only ace i know was prince Cantacuzene, i think.
For the end, Romania dont have ....aircraft carrièr😂😂( sea hurricane)
Yes, Heinkel 112 is one of those obscure warbirds which should get some mention now and then. Cantacuzino was the leading Romanian ace, I'll probably do a story about him someday. As for the Hurricane, the game simply refused to let my fly it in the mission. Fortunately, there was a rather similar one :)
Never seen this channel but when I saw the HS129 B-2 in the Italy tree with the romania flag I knew I wanted to learn its history
Thank you for the feedback, stick around to check other things as well.
I liked this video and I have recommended it to those watching my channel where I have a series about military aircrafts from World of Warplanes that were used by Romanian Royal Airforce in WW II
Thank you very much. I intend to cover some more of the Romanian Air Force in the future. If you can recommend some good sources, I'd appreciate it.
@@showtime112 I believe contacting this guy can help you with informations on romanian aviation than I have since it seems he has wroten a few books about Royal Romanian Airforce actions in WWII.

Great video.
Thank you for the comment!
Any plans about doing a video on Royal Romanian AF defence actions during Operation Tidal Wave?
Kudos for this video & the pronunciation!
Thank you for the feedback! I would love to do such a video in the future and I probably will. The American aspect of this operation is well known but the other side point of view (and especially the Romanian side) is not known well enough.
Love obscure little tidbits of history like this. But what version of IL-2 did you use to this video? Want to fly it now
Thanks for the comment! This is War Thunder, not IL-2.
oh really, the graphics were just so good. lol @@showtime112
Nice Video
Really fascinating to hear about air battles im not familiar with. I know of the planes like the IAR 80/81,and Heinkel 112, and that Romania flew them. This is the first time I have heard about the situations they flew in. Would love to hear more.
I will probably cover the Romanian Air Force some more. I also enjoy finding out about these 'obscure' parts of well known conflicts.
I really hope we can get a part 2 to this one day still :/
Por favor faça um video sobre Bulgarian Air Force! Please
I might do that, I need to do some research to see what would make a good video.
Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback! As usually, things are much more complex than at the first glance.
Also it should be mention, that rear part of IAR-80 was based on PZL-24 (to faciliate start of production), which was produced under licence in Romania. It was curious, that the most modern polish planes were sold abroad, and not used in PAF (Polish not Pakistani Air Force)
Thanks for the info!
Loved the Romanian v russia show. If possible I am looking forward to the next chapter...esp the use of german, british and polish planes.
Thank you for the feedback!
Thanks for the tip!
Incredible history 👍
Thank you for the comment!
Maybe Romania used the H-112 in combat only. Hungary had I think about three pieces of this type, but never saw actual combat.
During Spain civil war, Germany sent 17 Heinkel 112 and flying by spanish volunteers.( Not légion Kondor) pilots said this plane was superior against Bf 109 B and C( planes have same engine Junkers Jumo 210)
It looks like the Hungarian examples didn't see any combat but other than Romania, some saw action in the Spanish Civil War.
@@showtime112 17 Heinkel were send to spain flying by spanish volunteers.
Not by légion kondor. Pilotes said it was supérior vs bf 109B C. Even same engine junkers jumo 210
i believe a Spanish he-112 shot down a p-38 which had crossed into Spanish territory perhaps in north africa cannot remember.
@@exocet1 Yes, there is a painting about it on some Squadron Signal book(let), called the "In Action" series. Was it forced to crashland in Algeria.

Part 2 please
Your vote is noted, thank you!
So true, little has been mentioned about the Romanian air aces!
Minor Axis powers are pretty much overlooked. But I definitely plan to explore this story some more. Hard to say when exactly.
@@showtime112 Whenever you can, thanks!
A very fair video and well documentated, a romanian guy say that.
Thank you very much for the feedback!
Thanks
Thank you watching and commenting!
Good work !!!
Can You make a work abaout Pucará and hes combats???(scout destroy )
Thanks You.
Thanks! The Pucara story in the 1982 conflict is planned. Now, DCS doesn't have Scout helicopter. War Thunder has it but there's no Pucara in it. I'll have to do some creative editing magic :)
I had no idea the HE-112 went into production.
Not many were built, a hundred or so. But it's still an interesting overlooked warbird.
@@showtime112 it’s a very interesting aircraft 👍😊
Great video 👏 but where is part 2?
Thank you! It's still waiting to be done :) I will certainly cover some more Romanian Air Force in the future but I can't say when exactly.
Romanian aces never mention in the air combat history book🤔 .
Yes, they are definitely overlooked. Even in their own country.
Thanks.
Thank you for commenting!
Very good documentary. I like it alot. Not much time îs devoted to romanian forces during wwii
Thank you! I agree, this is not a well known subject. But definitely not for being boring.
What about that song about the Romanian fighter Ace? Is it available on youtube? I'd sure like to have a listen!
I searched but I couldn't find it. Perhaps one of the Romanian viewers can provide some info.
This is the song about Agarici: ua-cam.com/video/HjJgeK-SyUY/v-deo.html&ab_channel=offAnalogue The title ”A plecat la vânătoare Agarici” translates as ”Agarici went hunting”.
Fascinating.
I'm happy to hear that you liked the video!

I model WWII military subjects in 1/72 scale and am always looking for different markings and history of different subjects. I’m glad to get the Romanian history.
Is there gonna be a part 2? videos for Hungarian, Slovak air forces on eastern front too?
I will definitely go back to the topic of Romanian Air Force some day. And probably visit the other topics you mention. Hard to say when, so many topics, so little time :)
@@showtime112 awesome. I really like your videos. very informative. I'm a huge aviation buff so thanks for what you do.
