I'm not having any luck rooting my OP8 with any instructions I've followed, including these. Magisk always says "N/A" for installed after done and Root Checker says "not properly installed..." I used the stock image from OP and patched it and followed the balance. The only thing that seems to be off is the time it takes to flash the patched images, at only around 0.25 seconds vs your ~1.25 seconds. Maybe there's a forum I can post my failures to. Thank you.

I'm having the same problem. Everything seems to succeed, right until the point of checking the root status in magisk and root checker. Phone still works though, but no root. Might get a fresh boot.img and try again later. If anyone else has the same problem (and maybe found a solutions?) please reply!

After I did the fastboot reboot command. My OP8Pro just rebooted into fastboot mode again. Now, when I power it off and turn it back on or plug in the charger, it immediately goes into fastboot mode. Any suggestions...?
URGENT!!!! I did everything well except that I used the wrong img boot compared to my model, suddenly everything worked well but my one plus 8 pro no longer has the wifi working. so i will want a quick fix, if anyone can help me i would like to go back and have everything as before, new as factory.
I tried to install a stock one plus 8 pro global rom but the problem is that having wanted to unroot my smartphone I had to do a bad manipulation and my phone is in an infernal reboot loop. In the meantime, I manage to reach the bios with the recovery mode, the fastboot etc ... but the smartphone no longer has the usb debugging activated. I need to find a solution 😨

@@mohamadfaris1402 not necessarily. Granted I rooted two tablets today and they were older versions of android, simply flashed TWRP and then magisk and my current rom had no problem. But in most cases, I feel you would have to reinstall for sure

I highly recommend using this guide: forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-easiest-way-to-root-magisk-oneplus-8-pro.4288757/ It doesn't involve you using a custom boot image, a much more easy guide.

@@_techibee I was using whatsapp and suddenly it got turned off. At first I didn't notice. After a while turned on my device and it says Qualcomm CrashDump Mode. I tried flashing via MSM tool as well but the problem still exists.

It turns out that I missed a step and had to select the Beta Channel in Magisk so it would patch with 21.1. It's rooted now. Thanks for this vid!

@Nate Higgers No I later realised that it was because of xposed. Android 11 is not compatible with xposed.
@Nate Higgers ya please don't install xposed on Android 11. The device went into bootloop and I had to factory reset the device.

Hi, after i successfully installed magisk wifi is not working in my one plus 8 pro. I don't have the exact boot img so I installed global boot img for one plus 8 pro. My Oxygen OS version is 11.0.4.4 latest build. Please help me out

Hey Bro! It's really happy to see all the devices were recovered by your video. But Mine has not solved yet. Went to service center as well. they said motherboard should be replaced which costs half the price of the model. I've tried everything as you said, but none worked, still rebooting. Would like to unlock my bootloader but cant activate the developer mode as my phone is in crashdump mode. Please help me solve this issue without activating oem unlocking and usb debugging. Model - Oneplus 7 Pro.

@@_techibee I was using whatsapp and suddenly it got turned off. At first I didn't notice. After a while turned on my device and it says Qualcomm CrashDump Mode. I tried flashing via MSM tool as well but the problem still exists.

Just got one plus 8 pro. Holy shit this looks kinda hard to do but I guess I'll try. I unlocked photochrome but then I reset my phone and now I cant figure how to do it again lol sees its being keeped from the user or something. So I guess I'll just root it .
My alarms are not working fine . After adding alarms I can't able to delete them and it is also hanging very much. Is anyone facing this issue or it is just me 🤷
You have to press and hold the alarm until it is selected, then you can delete it.
