Northern NH here. 4 feet in less than 24 hours in 2003. It was the last weekend of deer season. We (6 of us) walked out of camp in 4 feet of snow for 6 miles!

3 feet in 2 days isn't a stretch in northern Nh. Pittsburgh or further north it'll drop 6 inches a day for months
