Vandy was the first person who ever responded to one of my comments on any youtube video. Beyond the incredible talent, I think that’s a big reason for the success, viewers are made to feel like a part of what’s going on. Live music is so great because you are sitting there in some small way being part of the music, albeit just a cheering fan. LLB gives you that live music feeling no matter where you are viewing from. Plus, they just seem like a good bunch of people, devoid of ego. Something so refreshing these days.
"1.5 million total views to 1.5 mill per month. I can't explain that." I can... You are all incredible musicians and the people crave the quality of work. People recognize talent and excellence. Y'all are fantastic!
Here's to a crew of real human beings dedicated to their craft, everything from performing to recording to mixing to video editing. And then there's all the stuff I don't know enough about. It's a model of craftsmanship from the ground, up. Thanks to all of you for bringing so much joy to all your listeners/watchers/fans.
the best cover band ever. i have been spreading LLB to everyone i know. love the music , the talent and the fact that you are sharing it with the world. Thank you all.
I don't play one single instrument , however I have been listening to music my whole life (69). When I first heard these guys and girls for the first time....I though who the hell are these guys ? The more you listen the more you realize their dedication to the music , and not just to the music but their dedication and respect to the original music. To say they are good is just simply an understatement ! Hard to believe it's been 10 years , however I think there is 10 more years of music hidden in this group.............
I became a fan when LLB videos were still being uploaded to Dale's channel, can't remember exactly when that was, but I've been a loyal fan ever since. It's more than just covering classics, it's that you do it so well and Vandy is right about that video correlation to the music, it brings the listener to the stage like the original music never could. It's also that connection between the band members and the way your relate to your fans that makes us feel a part of your musical family. I am so grateful for your efforts to bring your talents into our homes to enjoy and I hope that the love and appreciation of your fans brings you the warmth and fulfillment you so richly deserve. God Bless all of you.
Hey y'all, my wife and I made the trip from Canada ... thanks for the great concert this past Sunday. Thanks for the shout out to the veterans. I had to smile when we were all cleaning up after ourselves out on the 'field of dreams' ... and what do I hear? RUSH's "Working Man" !!! Good work y'all ... thanks for walking us through Labour Day ... that's how we spell it up here.
I'm just blown away at just, how down to earth, the musicians are, on The Lexington Lab Band. They are all very humble about their talent and are willing to share their position for other performers to shine. You don't see that, in people, anymore and thats a shame.... I'm so impressed with each and everyone's talent. You have a gift from God and you share that, with the world! Please, keep going with the sounds of the past. Your music brings the youth out in your viewers! Great Job....😊
I have spent hours watching your videos. Musically I cannot believe how good you all are. So impressive! As a musician myself I cannot compliment you all enough. Keep sending us music and videos to watch.
What I like about this band is the fact that each member looks and could be your next door neighbor. They are so talented musicians that are true to their craft. The video editing showing each member's contribution to a song makes it for me.
Your band and other bands kept the general public sane. Everybody was at home banging their heads.... Thank you. In the Netherlands we were kept indoors for 100 days. And then all the hassle 2 years afterwards, These online concerts gave and continue to give us a spark.
I ran across you guys on UA-cam a few years ago and I am hooked. I am a keyboard/rythm guitar player and have played in bands since 1967 and you guys make me want to play along every time I hear you. I know how hard it is to keep bands together with all the personalities and different viewpoints on what music to play. You guys have the right idea picking from a pool of musicians that the song needs and want to perform these and put in the work, which keeps the camaraderie among all the players. Your dedication to this keeps everyone wanting more. I am 73 and could listen 24 hours a day to your music. Exceptional job! Loved the interview. I wish I could meet you and talk music. You guys look like you are having fun which is what playing music does for me.
Another unique thing about their "cinematic style" is that they perform to each other rather than to an (imaginary) audience MTV style. I always got the feeling, especially early on that these are (super polished) jam sessions so I love that they face each other rather than line up as if on a stage. They are truly each other's fans. I LOVE that they are all having such a great time playing together. That's what really makes these performances special to me. (Fan request: Cheap Trick, Elvis Costello and the Attractions)
You came out and did something nobody has done. No ego. We needed this kind of thing. Enough of the Rockstar crap. You guys as talented as it gets and no Rockstar treatment needed. Thank you. And by the way, who doesn't like a good cover? How about one epic cover after another? Yep. We love it. Thanks for all your hard work.
Everyone of your videos sound amazing. The musicianship and the mixes are just unparalleled. Hope one day to make it to Lexington for your live show. Congrats on 10 years. (Was hoping that Dale would have been part of the interview - loved his playing on the early tunes).
Thank you all for what you do. I truly enjoy listening to all of you. I have so looked forward for every time I got a notification from LLB cause I knew it would be something amazing. Please keep it coming for as long as you got.
Every opera company is a cover band. Every symphony orchestra is a cover band. Every ballet company is a cover band. There is enough great material in the rock and pop musical sphere that merits performance with the attention to detail that a symphony orchestra, an opera company, or a ballet company brings to the classic works of their genres. Lexington Lab Band brings to the performance of rock and pop classics the attention to detail that the works deserve. Long may you run, LLB. Thanks for all the great performances.
music is such a great healer..it also allows folks to harken back to better times..especially with music..todays music is a far cry to the music that LLB brings to the masses..i cannot tell you how many times i either had tears or smiles listening to these great songs..they all touched me in many ways..thank you to the wildly talented group in the many ensembles..you are all special..
yep, Covid. Damn virus. But gifted me two new musical loves - Classical music and Lexington Lab Band. THANK YOU to each and every one involved, including videographers.
A quality interview from a quality group of guys. You guys represent what fans wished all bands were, just good folks enjoying the sharing of great music.
My love for LLB is - in part - nostalgia for my many years in my cover band. We were maybe 10% as good, but those were the happiest days of my life. Now, I’m too old and always hurting and my band is scattered all over four states. If I was your age, Mike, like I was in the 90s, I’d be on your porch with my PRS begging for and audition. ❤️
Core demographic checking in! Actually, I’m 69, but I enjoyed a second career in a cover band. I’m an absolutely dedicated fan. Dale Adams is my hero. Y’all rock!
Oh no. So sad to see Tom Leszega has passed. Sorry if it’s common knowledge but I didn’t know - only until I got to the end of your video. Heavy sigh. Condolences to all his family and friends - LLB ❤️🩹
What an awesome group of humans! As a old amateur musician myself the bond I feel with those associated with the Lab Band is beyond incredible! Please do not change what made you!! As a Eagle lover sense their first album and witnessed countless live performances, I’m so disappointed Don Henley hasn’t learn a thing or two about greed, so unfortunate to here of his ignorance. Sure makes Don Felders story ring true. What I love the most about the Lab Band beyond their talent is how they bring our classic music to life again through new technologies i.e., instruments, mixing, processing, recording audibly and visually!! I myself have tearfully listened to their professional rendition of music and musicians passed on. I’m 67, many of these reincarnated songs have brought back memories of friends or moments passed on. The first song that the Lab Band did that I heard was Walk Away!!!! WOWOWOW!! Joe Walsh must have been proud!!! We love you Lab Band, you’ve given this ole Bass player from Tomball, Tx new life!!! God Is Great!! Thank you again! Keep on rockin!!!
LLB is a great experience. Talented musicians coming together and producing the music that has been such a huge part of our lives. Thanks to all of you who are a part of the band. You are the best!
I'm one of those people that found LLB in 2020. I was astonished by the sound and faithfulness. The interpersonal reactions that Mike catches with the editing shows how much the group respects and enjoys each other. That is the part that everyone enjoys about music. Much love and respect to the greatest "cover band".
Love these guys. Mike helped send me a LLB T shirt and cap to Sydney Australia. Been listening to their music from their start. My goal is to see them on stage. And yes - I'm in that demographic! Howard K
I remember those first ones. I got hooked by watching Dale’s instruction videos on his channel, then watched you guys, and learned more about everyone. It got to the point where I would go back and listen/watch the original artists, and have those jaw-drop moments, thinking “Wow, these guys aren’t just good. They’ve got something special going on!” Ten years later, looking forward to the next! REALLY APPRECIATE THE MEMORIAL TO TOM 😢
Amazing ❣️ THIS was as exciting/Interesting/captivating as any "music video" you've done. The only thing missing was the other 20,000 of us in the room. 🎉 Thanks. 🤗
LLB have become torch bearers in creating, performing, and producing music that truly touches people from all walks of life. And yes, all the players who participate in The LLB productions are truly "Blessed" to be doing what every musician would kill to be a part of. Thank you for all the motivation you provide to players and all the joy you bring to the world. In the meantime, I will participate by playing along to these videos.
So very nice to "get to know you" even just a bit:) I've loved u guys/girls for a few years now and the very first song I heard was Waiting For a Girl Like You and you're right, it's special, I still go back to it to this day. Thanks so much for the music all of you!
I am an ex-sound engineer and music tv director with many years experience from England. I love the Lab Band because everything is done so well. The reason “Waiting for a girl like you” took off is, in my opinion, because the sound mix is simply sensational, it’s absolutely perfect and arguably considerably better than the original. The lead vocal is genuinely soulful and the backing vocals are perfectly balanced in the mix - this is not easy to accomplish. I was sent the video by a fellow professional and told to “ listen to this - it’s amazing” (my introduction to the band) and I, like many others, was so impressed I forwarded it to my friends who then forwarded it to their friends etc etc. As I said, the sound, the performance, the video all perfect - and quality always rises to the top.
I agree, Vandy, it's half audio and half video. Don't change your filming and editing technique - it's brilliant. The first LLB video I watched was Boston Smokin' and it blew me away! Still going through your catalog. "Just a cover band" - right! So special. Finally, you knocked it out of the park with Kyrie!
I have loved your music since I discovered you. Figured Lexington was someplace else. But its KY! I'm from Louvall and spent 2.5 yrs at UK. Love that you're my home folks.
As a now longtime fan and subscriber, I find a fella runs out of compliments I can come up with when the next video comes out - and I don't want to come off as anything but appreciative and sincere. Suffice to say, the heart of this project - the reasons it exists - are so very apparent and pure, to be witnessed by anyone with an open heart and mind and *that* is why I'm a fan for as long as I'm above dirt. Such integrity is a hard thing to find in this world anymore. Here's to another 10 years! - Ed on the Ridge
I love this sit down get together and you all explaining how this all came about. I kind of went thru the same thing but LLB took it to the highest level and now LLB has come to be known as The Best Cover Band BAR NONE. I look forward to getting new video's and songs from LLB and I must say you all has brought your talent to us all. A lot of hard work as I know has been put into what LLB does and it truly sounds and show in all you folks do. Thank you Vanny for following your vision and I really enjoy it all my friends....
Yup. Just - yup. I have always appreciated that you create the video how we all listen to these songs. Also, great music is the reward for a true musician/vocalist.
You guys are great don’t change a thing love watching the history of how you guys started. Good luck with everything keep it up. Love your music.❤❤❤👏👏👏👏👏👏
I have been listening and watching the band for years and you can see from this interview why the band is so successful. You play as team with such professionalism, realism and attention to detail to the music. If you ever can play live in New York look up the Paramount in Huntington. Thanks for what you do and it's the variety makes it so great.
I have been an Eagles fan since the early stuff in the '70's, but as good as their music is the greed is bigger. Just check out their ticket prices, sad times. Having said that, the LLB covers of the Eagles were absolutely fantastic in everyway! Seriously, who wants to take out a bank loan to go see an old group that was once great but are no longer able to do it and do it right, when we can sit and enjoy LLB in the comfort of our own home and get 100x the enjoyment from it? I still love the originals, especially on vinyl, but LLB and the way they produce the entire song from musicianship - vocal- video etc..., it's just special to all of us! Carry on and God bless!
I think the first time I discovered LLB was their cover of "Only The Beginning" by Chicago" (One of my all-time favorites) Then there was "25 Or Six to Four". Then it was Steely Dan's "My Old School", and "Peg". Just fantastic! So much talent. So tight and spot on. While there has been change in the ensemble, the quality has never suffered. Thanks guys, for so much great music.
I’m a Kentucky boy. You all make me proud of my heritage and love of music. I’m officially an OG, 72. But I still try playing my guitar as best I can, and am inspired by your collective talents. Your music makes me want to play better just because it makes me happy. I love what you do. Bless you all! 😁👍🏻
Incredible group of brothers and sisters loving music and life. Have been listening for years and enjoy all the different genres, styles, etc. Wonderful, can't wait for the next tune!!!
True musicians are all about the music and making it right and accenting the musicians that they are playing with to make it right. And you guys and girls do that.
Not a pro, but have been playing musical instruments all my life and love a really broad swath of music. Once you have played live with other musicians you never hear music the same way just as once you play an instrument well you find yourself listening differently. Listening to you guys and your work is really fun and Vandy needs to take a bow because the audio mixes sound really good out here in the cheap seats. All the work shows a level of craftsmanship and heart that is greatly appreciated. Thank you for this gift of making music - live sounding music - of songs we all know and love and sometimes forgot how good and special they are.
This interview is so good! So true that to see what you hear changes everything. I loved much of this music before I watched LLB. But I have become a fan of more bands after LLB! And, thanks for the humility you guys. So refreshing, so healthy. See you in two weeks at the live show!
Mike, you say you can't explain the views - well, being the best cover (if thats a thing, could just say band) band on the internet and beyond. Being able to relive most of the songs I grew up with that's very similar to the original, yet different is pretty epic. I know there's a lot of technology involved, however, seeing the band play and really get into the lick is refreshing. Keep on jamming, friends.
People respond to you guys because you do cover songs as close to the originals as anyone, anywhere and better than most. I know I greatly prefer to hear covers done this way. Half the time, the original band can't do it the way they did it in the studio when they are in concert, but the fact is, the original version is what sold everyone on the song in the first place. I don't want to listen to some yahoos trying to impress everyone how great they are compared to the original band or other cover bands. Just cover the song accurately. People will respond. Covid locked us all down so there was nothing much else to do but listen to YT etc. It's how I found you guys and I'm extremely glad I did. I agree with you 100% on the seeing and hearing all at once making the whole music better.
Why I Luv these folks - can listen to my favorite songs, from a group that nails each song. It like watching the best concert that never happened - All favorite songs, in one place, super well done.
We can see that everyone in LLB loves what they do and it makes us love it right back. If I can pinpoint the greatest talent in LLB, it's the passion, ability and honesty of the performances. It's like watching our friends play our favorite music and NAILING it! We get to relive our greatest memories watching all the magic. I've been telling all my family / friends about LLB and warning them that they will soon fall down the rabbit hole... and they will have a GREAT time.
This an amazing interview. I'm 62 and a "Classic Rocker" and yes, y'all are correct about hearing a certain tune and remembering where you were (good or bad). I have to say that I've never seen anyone that sucked in your videos. Every thing is superb. My two favorites are the Bassist Derek who every time I see feel he has a bass boat on his truck outside (we could be best friends) and the guitarist that does vocals on Stranglehold friggin awesome. I've watched the Def Leppard tunes a million times...btw, I'm the one who suggested you put the back story of that Hamer with the Leppard portfolio...just sayin. Cheers from Louisiana ⚜🍻
I hadn’t gotten to the end of the interview while watching when it was released and just finished. So very sorry to learn about Tom Leszgaza. My condolences to all of you and his other friends and family. RIP…
Analytics? It’s every guitar player or singer in a cover band cheering for you, the guy or gal working their fingers through the pain to learn so they can play with their friends. That’s who’s watching you, keep doing it
Yes - Derek's comment about being able to SEE and then link this to exactly how a piece is put together - is a big part of the magic for me. Plus I so respect Ryan's professional, precise and cheerful performances.
I am blown away by the talent that you folks have brought together and the attention to detail that you pay to the songs you are covering. Thank you for bringing all of this wonderful music to us.
One guy on another UA-cam channel argued that while you guys were good, he wished your voices matched the artist you were paying tribute to. I told him if you were a 'Tribute Band', maybe you would work on that, but you were a cover band and there is a huge difference. Obviously he gave his opinion, without knowing the difference. As a former drummer (l am now 77 yrs. old) in several cover bands, getting the instrumentation down is what is important, then do your best to get close to the original sound and you guys and gals do an excellent job. I have turned on several friends and relatives across the country and Canada to the LLB and they all think you are amazing. Keep up the good work. It would be great if you played the Seattle area in the future. Might l suggest a few groups? Mountain, the J. Giles Band, the Rascals, Steppenwolf, Jethro Tull, Uriah Heep and Blue Cheer. 😊 Thanks for all the memories, you take me back and for doing such wonderful work.
Great story. Love the people and the sincerity and humility they all show. I’m not a musician but as you said Vandy, I connect with the music and great memories growing up. I’m another one of the typical listener and fan - 60+ male! 😂 my wife and I’ll be attending our 1st live show this year. Hope to be able to just say hello to a few and thank you in person for the joy of listening and watching the sets! So thankful to have come across you all on UA-cam!
I binge these folks. Yes, it all reminds me of happy times and good memories. I'm 67, and have seen many of the bands these folks cover. I always wanted to see - up close - what their fingers were actually doing. 16:00 This wasn't possible back in the 70s and 80's. Early MTV wasn't about the technical exercises of playing the instruments, much less so as MTV got weird. As a fledgling drummer and bassist, this was starvation. Now, I can see with my eyes how Page did what he did, why - after all these years - John Paul Jones' play on Ramble On remains my all time favorite bass line. And this is true on every song LLB does.
Very very talented! Reminds me a lot of a group of church worship leaders in Phoenix in the early 2000’s that got together doing covers only to end up performing live to thousands (pre UA-cam). LLB is fantastic.
The first time I saw a video, it was the quality of the production that grabbed me. All instruments and vocals are perfectly matched and all of you are a really special group of people. You are also very popular in the UK by the way!
What a fantastic inside look at how LLB came together. As a 59 year old, I find myself listening to LLB because it brings back so many fond memories. I have to admit that I'm a big Eagles fan and it bothers me that Henley doesn't realize that you may be bringing younger generations to their music instead of thinking that everyone is trying to steal something. I live in Ontario just across the bridge from Detroit. Be great if you guys could do a show at Caesar's Casino in Windsor. The main hall holds about 4,500. Keep honoring these great artists by celebrating their music!!
What a band! I stumbled upon them when surfing UA-cam cover bands. Fantastic musicians and singers.Looking foreward to more great covers! Keep up the good work.
For me, the reason for continually watching LLB is threefold: song selection, excellent transcription of the original song, and high level of musicianship.
Ive said before and Ill continue to say it. The answer to the age old question....you are stranded on a desert island with just one band for a year-rest of your life (depends on whos asking) Which band or artist do you choose. The LLB....because with that one band....you get everything. Yall make us feel like we are in with you in your videos. So much so that I pull my guitar out and jam "with you".....not just playing along with an audio track. Its special.. and in doing so as I do so often...I wonder if im not responsible for a percentage of the 1.5 million views a month 😂
I love the Boston covers. I watch them over and over 😊 RIP Tom !
Absolute Love for the Guys and Gals of LLB from Palm Springs Ca.

I wholeheartedly agree , each and every time I leave a comment I receive a reply.

85 musicians is mindblowing. And amazing. The lady who interviews is so amazing. This is really an epic interview. I was glued to the screen.

Howard K
keeps it up guys...I love your stuff and I tell everybody how great your are....and I have a friend in Lexington, DW in Raleigh, NC
I remember those first ones. I got hooked by watching Dale’s instruction videos on his channel, then watched you guys, and learned more about everyone. It got to the point where I would go back and listen/watch the original artists, and have those jaw-drop moments, thinking “Wow, these guys aren’t just good. They’ve got something special going on!”
Ten years later, looking forward to the next!
REALLY APPRECIATE THE MEMORIAL TO TOM 😢
Absolutely love this band !!! Listen every day
I follow you on UA-cam. The band has very good taste in music and everyone plays very well!
Greetings from Brazil!
Recreate they have. And to perfection. Many thanks!
As a now longtime fan and subscriber, I find a fella runs out of compliments I can come up with when the
next video comes out - and I don't want to come off as anything but appreciative and sincere.
Suffice to say, the heart of this project - the reasons it exists - are so very apparent and pure, to be witnessed
by anyone with an open heart and mind and *that* is why I'm a fan for as long as I'm above dirt.
Vandy, I’m not a 60 year old man but I sure love you all. 😉😉 So dang proud to say I know you and what you have done.
I stumbled across these videos last night. I am blown away with their talent. Their love of the music shines through. Best cover band period!
You guys are one big bunch of great musicians!
10 years! Awesome! And thank you for reminding me how long I’ve been listening to you. 😮
I’m a Kentucky boy. You all make me proud of my heritage and love of music. I’m officially an OG, 72. But I still try playing my guitar as best I can, and am inspired by your collective talents. Your music makes me want to play better just because it makes me happy. I love what you do. Bless you all! 😁👍🏻
🇨🇦 lovin it from Toronto Canada.....fantastic group.
Coming from Brooks, GA in September 2023!!
Not just 60 year old men are fans ! I'm a 60 year old woman and I just love LLB❤
From Spain. I'm very sorry for Tom's loss. I have really enjoyed the songs he has played on. What a good guitarist.
Your format and editing is perfect. I come away with a fresh perspective on the music. We’ll done!
Thank you for continuing to bring us the GREAT music!!!
Thanks for all the memories, you take me back and for doing such wonderful work.
You guys are like the Swampers of Lexington.
I love these guys and the gals 💕🇨🇦🤙
It's the quality of the work that draws people to this band and channel.. Here's to an even brighter future and financial gain for your work.
Very very talented! Reminds me a lot of a group of church worship leaders in Phoenix in the early 2000’s that got together doing covers only to end up performing live to thousands (pre UA-cam).
LLB is fantastic.
Thanks for keeping the music alive, champions. I am wearing my LLB cap! Best wishes from Australia.
The first time I saw a video, it was the quality of the production that grabbed me. All instruments and vocals are perfectly matched and all of you are a really special group of people. You are also very popular in the UK by the way!
This is great! I am always looking forward to hearing your sets. I am looking forward to coming to the Live Show. My destination!!!
I always enjoy listening to you guys!!!
What an awesome group of people! Keep it up for all of us, your very appreciated
I appreciate this interview. She is asking some great questions.
Great interview guys!!! I'd love to get down there to see one of your live shows!
The answer to the age old question....you are stranded on a desert island with just one band for a year-rest of your life (depends on whos asking)
Which band or artist do you choose.
