  • This calculus 2 video tutorial explains how to find a power series representation of a function by differentiation. It also explains how to find the radius of convergence and interval of convergence for such a power series based on the convergence of the original geometric power series. It explains how to check the endpoints for convergence using the divergence test and the alternating series test.

    Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for an amazing video/lecture on Finding Power Series by Differentiation in Calculus Two. This material is not difficult to understand, however pattern recognition and differentiation of Power Series is important. This is an error free video/lecture on UA-cam TV with the Organic Chemistry Tutor.

    Don't you have to change the ns when you reindex???? So when you increase by an index like from 0 to 1, you decrease by n in the function?

    don't you have to shift your 'n' starting point every time you take the derivative of a series? for example, the derivative of a series starting at n=0 would shift and start at n=1, you'd have to restore it back to n=0 by adding 1 to every n term in the series expression.

    • @eldondejager8045
      @eldondejager8045 4 роки тому +4

      @@verrawar7906 usually you would do that, yes, but if you move it to 1 and it doesn't influence your series you are allowed to do it. So the when your series started at 0 the first term was 0, which wouldn't influence the series, so you can go ahead and change your starting point to 1
