I purchased my Pearson chute in Houston at Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo in 90 or 91. I also bought the palp cage and also the Pearson tub, it has solid panels and door which catches ever foot or so. Both are here at the farm near Winnie, Tx. Hurricane Ike in 2008 brought the gulf of Mexico 14 miles inland and salt water rose 20" up on the equipment. Tropical storm Michael in 2016 rained 45 inches in 36 hours, 35 " of water on equipment, Tropical storm Imelda in 2018 rained 54 inches, 30 of that in 12 hours. 4 ft of water on the equipment. My model came with 2 x 10's, they floated up and out LOL, but the chute, all its springs, cables, the tub, all remain 100% solid. About the guy who sold me the Pearson equip. He had a booth set up during International Day in the Astro Hall. He was from Waxahachi, Tx, his name was Dale (Thomas or Roberts) not sure of last name. It was a very sad thing that happened. I paid Dale and he assured delivery in two weeks. A month went by and I called the number on the business card he gave me. I was informed that Dale while visiting a local cattle auction barn, fell off the catwalk and was killed. It was horrible, however they did ship the equipment. He was a good man, good salesman, I remember the night in the Astro Hall there were many international guests from Mexico, Brasil, most were there for the Brahman cattle from J.D Hudgins and they all wanted the Pearson equipment. The only thing I didn't buy was what Dale called the "crash gate" or crash panel. he said it was available to use with Buffalo, he said a Buffalo is allowed to run thru the open head gate, hit the crash panel and when he steps back, the head gate can catch him. I informed him my little dumpy Angus cows, if they ever get so bad that the regular head gate wont stop em, I'll sell out and go fishing. Anyhow, Pearson is top notch equipment and by the way, the coating with all the flood water its endured, still looks good.
