Is Kagura's voice just tailored to sound special as in they design her to speak in a different manner or did she use some kind of known dialect/accent? I am so curious!
Apparently its similar to someone with a Chinese accent speaking japanese but not exactly the same. You could say its trying to reflect that she's an alien and not from earth, although none of the other Yato members we meet have the same accent. If anything it emphasises how cute and weird she is. In the show, there's an episode where her guardian spirit keeps saying "aru" to her so you could assume she picked it up from that. However there are a few moments where the show alludes to Kagura faking it. I feel like its something Hideaki put in for fun with not too much of a deep meaning behind it😊

The reason Im curious is because Im totally in love with that voice, I thought I might hear people talking like that in real life maybe a certain prefecture or something. Well I guess I'll just listen to Kagura for now.
Back in the 19th century one of the earliest Japanese language books for foreigners recommended using "arimasu" instead of "desu" and "imasu" for the "is" particles. I guess it was to make things simpler. So it kinda became a thing in storytelling that ending a lot of sentences in arimasu/aru meant a foreign accent. After WW2 with American occupation, everyone learned English loan words so Western foreigners were represented as speaking broken Japanese with some English mixed in. Since the Japanese do not really know many Chinese words, the old convention of using arimasu/aru as indicating an accent stuck, even though there probably hasn't been a Chinese person that spoke like that for the past 100 years.
I don't know whether you did that with purpose or was it just a coincidence that you actually spelled " *simp* achi " just like his character in this arc and several other arcs.
