FRIGUS nah man, I’m not even close to this skill level but even I can play off the top like this without “rehearsing”. i like his energy tho lol but theres a difference between a producer and a person that loops their music. this is a jam/live performance kinda like a dj uses filter and effects to transition between songs hes using it to transition the live jam along. producers are cut from different cloth
What I wanna know is how the hell it makes it sound so good on the fly. What effects templates? Takes a huge mixing effort to make stuff sound like this.

That was worth every second I watched. Definitely a talented musician. Also I expected him to be speaking English and was completely thrown off at the beginning. 😅
Can somebody, ANYBODY, tell me how he has Ableton set to record a certain amount of bars and play it back directly after? I've tried Looper but i've had no luck. I'm sure it's some switch in Ableton that simply needs to be activated i just need help. 😅
He's using a Looper for each track (you can assign fixed bars for the Looper device). However, I find the Looper effect quite limiting, so I've created a Max device that allows fixed bar clips. Have fun! www.maxforlive.com/library/device/4490/clip-length
What I know about looping live on ableton using midi. 1. create an empty midi clip in a track and define its length, lets say 2 bars. 2. If the track is armed and your instrument is connected, turn on Automation. 3. Now if you play, midi notes will be recorded instantly and played back too. Automation will enable you to rewrite over the clip as much as you wish but if you do a mistake you have to undo that part.
hey man is there any way you could update this and add an 8 bar option to this? am using it with an apc40 and love it but wish i could record longer loops
I had the same question for months until i figured out that the ONLY EASY way to do it is with Push, the Ableton midi controller, if you want to record and play a loop on the go, FKJ style, you have to use Push's "fixed lenght" feature, otherwise you have to do it like the guys in the other comments said, create the clip, set the lenght and so on, but you have to do this before playing and cuts your workflow, only with push you can achieve it smoothly... although it cost a bunch of money :/ But trust me its worth it, specially if you are into live performing, or just to jam to your own loops with little-to-no effort. Hope this helped.
You need to learn how to play an/ instrument/s and some//,, some'' music theory. Yes, you can skip learning instruments, ( but you re gonna miss a lot of the feelings from this thing called music ) and learn some music theory, get a DAW ( ableton, cubase, fruity loops etc ), Vst s ( virtual instruments ) and be you! Good luck
i think he uses the looper plugin instead of tracks. cool thing about it is, you can set a fixed length like 4 bars or smt so you dont have to press the button again to stop the recording
