@@YurkerYT valkyrie,yashuman,bellerephon.. all three. but after further investigation there was few more and could find one more galactica or pegasus at one of shots.
@@stratiosastero6880 True. There were at most 4 Valkyrie Battlestars at the Scorpia Fleet Shipyards (Bellerophon, Ramses, and 2 unidentified often called the Freyja and Poseidon in fandom). There were 2 Jupiter (Galactica Type) Battlestars there as well (Probably not of the original 12 as Galactica was the "Last of her kind"). There was even a Jupiter at Caprica that presumably encountered the Cylon Armada and was destroyed shortly after the Valkyrie, Yashuman and another were disabled. Each Jupiter had the same lack of Armor plating as Galactica indicating that it was a design choice rather than a part of Galactica's Decomissioning.
yamiblade there are ships in high atmo. It is likely they are responsible for the attack. Capture at least one vessel for interegation... destroy the rest.
It's very creepy, the way that the ships suddenly shut down. It almost makes me think that the Cylons just let them plunge into the atmopshere, unable to propel themselves.
@eaglesguy2036 She was in drydock when the attack began and the Cylons were targeting active ships of the fleet. As the shipyard came under attack in what was most likely the second wave, Cain made the choice to jump away from the battle to save her ship and be able to fight another day.
@TRUExSIGHTS I agree. I think those tubes lining the underside of the flight pods are viper catapults. There only being six of them suggests the Valkyrie can only launch six vipers at a time. And I think the ship is about the length of Galactica's flight pods, but it definitely has quite a complement of batteries and ship-to-ship missiles launchers.

There was a Jupiter Battlestar also protecting Caprica at the time. It too was disabled and destroyed. Caprica presumably had quite a few defense vessels.
@TheAmericanEmperor Oh yeah there is the Warstar Zeus that would Tare the Mercuries in 2 within just a couple of minutes and they can hold off 20 Base stars at once.
@smcneal057 Also, I suspected that the Cylons had no intentions of fully obliterating everything on all the 12 colonies. It was likely they intended to harvest whatever resource they could salvage from the 12 colonies for their own purposes. If you remember, the Cylon humanoids were occupying Caprica city as some of the centurions were assigned to urban renovations.
@dickjpaige Yeah. Someone brought that up on another similar video. Best as I can tell, I think the VFX team used it to cut corners. It's supposed to be Caprica, but they figured that shooting it just so at that kind of angle, only someone paying a lot of attention would even notice. None of the VFX sequence was really in the original script of The Plan, and the VFX team wanted to actually do something cool, yet it probably wasn't covered much in the budget.
Plus, if you notice in the same shot the way they show the Baystars encircling Caprica is completely unrealistic. They are in close formation (close enough to see), and yet some of the ships are obscured by the planet. They'd have to be thousands of miles away for that to happen (and they'd look like tiny points of light at best). That or Baystars are the size of Iraq (which they aren't). I saw the VFX break down of this shot, it seems like it was done to look dramatic, not realistic.
I've always wondered about the humans that survived on Caprica after the fall. Did they all die from the radiation or did they somehow make it and learn to live off the land? I have always been curious about this.
A question still unanswered to this day... Seemed like the Centurions were sent en masse to massacre or capture survivors for experimentation (Which would take decades as millions had to have survived the initial Nuclear Bombardment with a fraction of that surviving the Fallout). If there were enough survivors for genetic diversity they could have eventually reclaimed the planet as the Cylons left less than a year after the Fall. 150 thousand years later they might be out there right now... Not just Caprica either. The Twelve Colonies of Kobol may once again be a space faring civilization. As to why they haven't contacted us is likely because the Colonials never really explored space before the Fall (The Prolmar Sector was beyond the "Red Line" which Galactica and it's fleet went beyond). It's likely they haven't explored beyond their own system.
I can't really remember the storyline but can anyone remind me why the Pegasus was able to jump away from the attack and all the other Battlestars apparently couldn't?
The Pegasus's Command Navigation Program was shut down for the 3 month retrofit at the Scorpia Shipyards so the ship was still somewhat operational when the Cylons arrived. The other vessels presumably had their CNP online and were disabled then destroyed.
a whole bunch of those caprican and libran butildings looked like hardened arcologie thaat would have survived the attacks and were left behind, don't blame the fleet. the colonies live
@MrEric177 Well more of those scenes would just be more ships being turned off, it would get kinda tedious, although a nice explosion of admiral Nagalas battlestar Atlantia would have been nice to see, or at least an explosion of the battlestars shown here. Then it probably would have been more worthwhile to watch.
I agree. It's implied that Nagalla had a small task force of surviving Battlestars at Virgon and was actually fighting the Cylons indicating that the CNP wasn't 100% effective. He just didn't have enough ships to stage a proper counterattack and was overwhelmed. The Atlantia was destroyed along with the Triton, Solaria, Columbia, and many more Battlestars. Some Raptors and Mk VII Vipers managed to survive this massacre and rendezvous with the Civilian Fleet at Ragnar (As Sam Witwer's character Crashdown was a "refugee from Triton" and a few Mk VIIs can be seen in the Civilian Fleet).
@charonelli It was canceled due to weak ratings - and it had by far run its course as it was written. Even Caprica suffered from viewership. It has nothing to do with gay/straight issues at all. BTW, There is no specific time for "BG," however, it's implied that the travelers came 150K years BEFORE we did, not the future.
@thehelix27 thats very clever and yet a very cheap move. wouldnt the battlestars be equiped with something to counter that though? i mean ur enemies are robots you would have somesort of cyber defence tech right? guess they didnt have norton or avg huh? lol
Their operating system was the weakness. The Cylons practically created the very Network the Colonials were using. There was no hacking involved. Just an inputted backdoor command to shut off every Military asset.
Still so very very wrong. Anyone military will know it - you build, train your life, the balloon goes up and you are outnumbered 10:1, but you go out to do or die. Denied everything with the flip of a switch....
obviously you have to insert quite large inaccuracy to the FTL to make the story work, with precise jump systems the raiders just could've jumped over the cities with nukes and nothing would have been able to counter them. 1000 km in front of the planet means 20-30s to impact it also makes the x,y placement of munition possible (you jump 100km next to the citiy, the rocket has to climb the x /y axis. Point defence is good in all cases. Also it doesn't really mean more BattleStars escaping.
