The Fleurieu Peninsula is the first stop on our travels in South Australia. In true SA style, the episode starts with heavy winds, freezing temperatures and rain, yet we managed to make the most of our time once the weather turned around!
In this episode we:
- Travel from Langhorne Creek to Strathalbyn; the first of many beautiful South Australian towns we would visit.
- Attempt to catch squid at Port Elliott and experience the famous Port Elliot Bakery!
- Visit Victor Harbour and walk across to Granite Island
- Fall in love with Rapid Bay - one of our favourite campsites yet!
- Take the 12km circuit hike through the Deep Creek National Park. These views were INSANE!
- FINALLY CATCH SQUID! First catch and cook coming right up!
- Find a ripper sunset spot on the Fleurieu Peninsula

@@our.australia.trip. It was perfect. Hot with a soft breeze and cool water. The sand get's really hot though like walking on Mars..so you have to wear your thongs for sure. I saved a little girl from the hot sand poor thing. But I scooped her up and got her to cool grass and saved the day.

G'day Richard! Im glad you found us 😁 SA has offered us some awesome travelling over the past 3 months. We still have 4 episodes to come on the Eyre Peninsula! The amazing scenery and natural beauty of this state makes our job easy. I found first light & high tides were the time I got the best results those little morsels are fun to catch and incredibly tasty & sustainable. The seals! How special is that!!
Not sure if you're heading to Kangaroo Island while in SA but if you go to Seal Bay you'll see Australian sea lions and if you go to Admirals Arch in the Flinders Chase National park you'll see New Zealand fur seals. 😀

The summer period they’ve had tuna pens between Victor Harbour and Granite Island which you can swim with the tuna

You have to go and stay at Perlubile beach 🏖️ on your way west it's just out of Streaky Bay all the You tubers stay there cheers legends ☺️
We have heard so many good things about Perlubie. If we can get a site there we will check it out for sure. The permits and rules have just recently changed.
Port Elliot bakery is the best, on a long weekend the queues are out the door

Another awesome video if you want to catch more squid and blue crabs go to Point Turton on the Yorke Peninsula see Malcolm the owner of the caravan park he will take you out don't spend to much time at the Barrossa go to the Clare Valley instead
Thanks Steve! There is no shortage of fishing spots in SA! We planned to go to Clare Valley but after the Barossa we were pretty wined out and decided to head straight to the Yorke 🤙🏼
When you get over to Yorke Peninsula, you have to go squidding on the jetty and catch some Whitting?
