Bon Jovi finds hope in "Unbroken," new song honoring veterans

- Grammy Award-winning musician and philanthropist Jon Bon Jovi is honoring our veterans and their service with his new song, “Unbroken.” For the next 12 months, all proceeds from the song will go to the Patriotic Service Dog Foundation. Bon Jovi wrote the anthem for the new documentary, “To Be of Service,” about veterans who live with PTSD and the service animals who help them heal. Bon Jovi joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss the musical project.

You're doing perfectly fine listening to 90's stuff. Don't worry about foolish, narrowminded friends. Just look what the most popular and successful stars from back then did for charity. Think of "Feed the World", "Let them know it's Christmas time" etc. where dozens of the top performers joined together (Bon Jovi included) and all proceeds went to help those in need. That's what I call role models, contrary to many of the selfish, drug using, violent and entitled so called idols of today's world. So, enjoy listening to GOOD music, regardless of what others think. I'm 59 and raised my 22 yr. old son to be caring about needs of others, I was in my prime back then and it touches my heart to see folks like Bon Jovi's good deeds.

I have a lot of respect for Jon Bon Jovi and I genuinely believe he is a good person, but while he may not have been scandalous or promiscuous by rock star standards he hasn't been a saint and has said so himself. He has admitted to experimenting with drugs and having lapses in his relationship with Dorothea. Look up the lyrics for Bed of Roses for example which was a very personal song for him. I'm not trying to bring the guy down, after all he's only human and there is no doubt he has done a lot great things, both in terms of music and charity. Just letting you know.

Another reason I have been a JBJ fan since the 80's. A truly nice guy who tries to use his affluence to help others, while respecting other people who may have different political views. Be the good you want to see. Be kind to everyone, even the people you don't agree with. Jon, you live that life. Don't listen to all the haters out there.

Since I discovered Bon Jovi a few years ago, I've never stopped loving them and Jon himself is a true hero and my idol forever.

veterans getting service dogs and having there whole life change always makes me cry happy tears because im not a veteran and my dogs are not service dogs but the joy and help i have received from them make me think about how there lives are change with a trained service dog always respect the solider you don't have respect the one who make them fight

I praise Jon for singing this song and the other charitable things he does for people that he doesn't get paid for because he's helping people by feeding them and helping housing familes in homes. A good example of kindness and humility.
Holy cow! I am not much of a crier but this song got to me. I have many people in the military in my family going back for many generations. My father is a Marine and fought in Vietnam for four terms. I spent much of my childhood up nights listening to his stories and trying to give him comfort. I have an grand uncle who was really one of the sweetest men to ever live who fought in WWII and later committed suicide. I am so glad that Bon Jovi is helping to draw attention to this issue.

How about this. My wife’s service dog assist with her visual impairment, placental cancer brain tumor cardiac autoimmune disease neuropathy constant dislocated bones and much much more! When people hear her story and how she’s struggling but surviving people say that’s the best thing they have seen. They even mention the fact tons of veterans have fake service dogs and her dog even got attacked by a mans fake service dog when he has Ptsd for serving. Often times you will come across poorly trained or not trained “service dogs” at all. Veterans think they deserve the world because of their “sacrifice” my wife has struggled with this since birth. Being 22 and dealing with about 35 diagnoses is SACRIFICING a lot more. Give credit to people whom aren’t veterans.
