    Great video! I keep a bungee cord near my steps so I use that to hold the gate open.

    Where's your bale twine? If you'd got a length in the pocket you could have tied the gate open. I was told to always have bale twine, a pocket knife and a sixpence (showing my age) in my pocket, all came in handy at some point.👍 BTW, for me any content is welcome, at least you farm, thank you.

      Haha I feel like I’ve failed the farming community not having some on me! Always have the knife, that comes in handy as many different tools! Thanks John!

    With the cost of chemical / compound fertiliser only going one way price wise it’s worth mapping fields and spreading variable rates accordingly. When sowing I still would have put the tramlines in at that stage rather than 1st spray application stage. Like the field work videos Josh 👍

    • @JMFarming
      @JMFarming  2 роки тому

      Yes I agree, definitely something I want to try and get into doing! Perhaps I’ll put the tramlines in next time! I was trying to be clever and use the old ones again! Didn’t really work!

    Great video again Josh 👌 could you knapsack spray that corner of the field with the chemicals you need for the crop ?? If it was worth doing for the final yield ? hand spread the fertiliser maybe, not sure if that’s ideal ?😆

    • @JMFarming
      @JMFarming  2 роки тому

      Thanks Liam! Probably isn’t worth it to be honest, better to just put it into grass or wild flowers for the birds 👍🏼

    🖐🏼 I am a sheep game subscriber. I think his content is great. I was late for work the other day as I was watching his daily vlogs haha! When do you predict first cut will be? Do you need rain? The ground is drying up here in West Sussex!!

    • @JMFarming
      @JMFarming  2 роки тому +1

      Brilliant! Yes I’ve been close a couple times watching videos in the morning before work! Probably a couple weeks! We need rain but we will cut what’s there before long as the quality will go!

    Great video Josh! Nice descriptions of the differences in the crop where the fertilizer and sprayer made the difference. Easy to see. For the field with the evidence of nibblers - will the science types survey the field to determine the type of nibbler for treatment, or is the field left alone? I'll watch whatever you post. Fert and spraying is fine. Appreciate all your efforts. Well done!

    Are the fertilizer companies not producing fertilizer because of the high energy costs or is there some other reason? By my estimations, the crops with no fertilizer produced about 25% of the crops with the fertilizer. Is it safe to say that in the not-so-distant future, there will be approximately 75% less food?

    • @JMFarming
      @JMFarming  2 роки тому

      I think the gas price is the driving force behind it yes! Problem is there is always going to be more people to feed from less land! Something will have to give!
