Incredibly relevant and important composer. This work is so obviously a masterpiece that I'm almost embarrassed to say it because then I have to identify why it is such. Let's start with the instrumentation - essentially a concerto for cello and bayan! the dynamics and timbre are out of this world. This music transcends nationality and quite quickly enters the arena of transcendental and mystical and oh yes joyful and profound and enjoyable to listen to. It is clear that ms. gubaidulina is one of the greatest composers of the 20th century.
Everyone is applauding the composer and performers, as well they should. I however, want to congratulate the audience. They held the silence at the end of that piece with total reverence! Beautiful to see. they allowed themselves to be swept on a harrowing journey, and at the end, they took rest. no need to rush out of the hall, just giving the moment a chance to settle and breathe.
She is definitely amongst the great composers of our time. Specially for her abilitiy with timbre and dynamics, and also you can feel a deep russian identity.
Very sensitive. I really like this composition. Nice formal disposition also, and pleasant duration. The way of mixing traditional and modern aspects reminds me a little of Schnittke.
People think if composer compose enjoyable music so this composer is true genius but a great compser is someone who know instrument very well so sofia is the one....shes a complex......

Это не музыка, это сплошной диссонанс и издевательство над инструментами. Восхищаются только те, кто хочет выпендриться, дескать,какие мы уникальные ценители того, что недоступно нормальным людям. Эту какафонию люди с хорошим музыкальным вкусом слушать не могут

As always while listening to Gubaidulina’s pieces in deep awe for her imagination and vision. Breathtaking. And a magnificent performance.
What a wonder, I'm astonished, this composition need the knowldege of the possibilities of sound or many instruments. This is a masterwork.
