Man this is why older GTAs are great. You won’t get a mission fail because you didn’t do it the way Rockstar wanted you to.
Asuka's mission to kill the Cartel Killers has you Bring them to her boys to be the ones to kill them there, so not always
RDR2 has mix of both styles of missions. One issue with gta 3 mission design is story telling and mission variety.

Asuka would love this...she'd be proud. Always liked working for the Yakuza they had some of the cooler missions in the game and they were challenging too.

CJ was ultimately the one who killed Salvatore because he robbed that casino in LV and Salvatore lost all his money, a lot of his guys and that steak in the casino and caused him to go into a insane sense of paranoia that haunted him for the rest of his life that made him even treat Toni like shit the one guy who’s always loyal and saved Salvatore’s life quite a few times also made Toni’s made ceremony look like JD’s and and at the end of LCS gave only a half a million dollars instead of a million.

bro kills him the same way multiple times at different locations and calls it 100 ways 💀
A couple of favorites of mine was to push his convoy car down the hill by his mansion and kill him and his crew down there on the Beach.
The other was to stack up a van or two cars against his garage and watch his convoy try to desperately barge there way in as I hit them hard with RPG rockets.
I discover two ways to kill salvatore first we kill his men inside luigi club and then we kill all of his men outside and destroy the three gang cars so salvatore cant get away to his mansion in Saint marks bistro

Back to the time I played, I threw Molotov from the rooftop instead of using the sniper, which was satisfying af.
Somebody made a really complicated one where they kill salvatore with the very same rigged car the gta 3 guy was supposed use.
It’s best not to kill Salvatore whilst in the middle of Saint Mark’s are from the moment you get the mission passed caption the leones with have pump action shotguns (which are almost always instant death) and will shoot you on sight
