Hi Jaana, I Just had your video randomly come up in my feed and I am so GLAD that it did! I can TOTALLY relate to your experience and outlook on life now! I also went through this about 6 years ago having always worked in the financial markets, corporate banking, investment management etc.. I then had a burnout like yourself and following that, knew I had to slow down and change my life! I tried meditation (out of desperation more than anything) as it was never "My kind of thing", being a "mans man" (so to speak), a "can do" & "get on with it" kind of person.. Lol 😂 - However, it was the BEST thing I could have ever done! (I WISHED I had tried it when I was at the start of my career! Being I've always been a "perfectionist" and "driven" in everything I've done, that balance would have been beneficial with hindsight!) Currently I live in a large town, not far from the city, but have slowed right down the last few years since the Pandemic, but I have been looking to 'sell up' and buy a place abroad, somewhere like Sweden, Finland, Spain, or Portugal, somewhere with less 'restrictions', less densely populated, more affordable (for a larger property/land) and to be able to live a semi-"off-grid" kind of life, start a "remote" business and then also be able to combine/supplement that with some self sufficiency, perhaps a fruit-farm or similar depending on location and specific climate depending on where I decide ultimately to relocate. (Something that I can also get the harvest "taken care of" by others of I choose), or I can also choose to be hands-on with. I've been thinking of this for last 4 years (but the lockdowns prevented it) and I wish I had done it sooner, (due to prices doubling and tripling in some areas! & Also Visa and Citizenship Rules changing a lot last 2 years!) However it's still something I'd like to do, as things are only getting worse societally and to be more remote I think would add a buffer/distance from that and some general peace and quiet! Although it's a big decision as I'm single now, so a move abroad alone is a big step. Sorry for the essay, just that your story gave me some renewed motivation and inspiration to pursue this new chapter! I have just subscribed and look forward to your future videos! Have a great rest of your week! :)
