You wouldn't be able to see the pattern of the chip on the inside through the copper. Copper isn't translucent. You'd see solder first before you saw any pattern of the chip.
@@Duck_side newer intel cpu's come with a soldered ihs. They do work because the solder only touches the top of the bare chip. Go watch any modern de lidding tutorial or do some basic research.

@alfonsogarzon7291 Why would it be broken? The laser never went through the heatspreader and never touched the die, worst case scenario it probably just runs a little hotter from the spreader being a little messed up.
@@peterpopofff my concerns are not about the heatspreader beeing thinner but the temps the heatspreader may have gotten with that laser facelift and if the temps have been too high the die will have degraded or the silicon could be damaged
