    Indonesia just too much talk in news media “will buy this, will buy that” but no result. Singapore just little talk but the result is overpower for southeast asia

    Singapore Navy has come a long way since independence in 1965. It has become a sophiscated and advanced Navy in Asean. A power to be reckoned with. It also means ill-intentioned countries of SINGAPORE will think twice on taking on our formidable force as commented by a BBC commentator, when Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1991.

    Looking forward to seeing more Malays get chances at sensitive positions in the Airforce and Navy. They`re Singaporeans too and the natives.

      would not be needed for Singapore Task/needs, not cost-effective and needed alot of cooperation with US/Britain or France + take 10+ years from now (look at Australia) + make a big hole in your budget.

    Congratulations Singapore on the all new submarines... It's when merit takes centre stage that anything can be accomplished. Unlike Malaysia where the defence procurement has been rubbish with all the corruption etc.

      How all countries still build an plan new Submarines + that class here is one of the newest ones, basically even the newest in Asia especially for its AIP Systems (Air-independent propulsion) that even China, India, Pakistan wanted but did not get the Export ok from Germany.
      + the Automus ones have still completely different task, far lower range, effectors they can use and no capability for deploying special forces ++

    So how can we be sure the west didn't hide explosives on the sub?

    • @dashyz3293
      @dashyz3293 Місяць тому +10

      As a highly neutral vessel that conducts some of the largest and busiest trade ports globally, Singapore has no bad relations with any country. Additionally, it is ridiculously difficult to engineer hidden explosives for a submarine as they are built for depth pressure and stealth capabilities, which severely limits the types and amount of material that could go in without alerting something during testing.
