BBC RADIO DJ John peel PLAYED RAWLINSONS END ON HIS RADIO show thats where i first heard Vivian Stansill along with ivor cutler. I need to listen 8:07 to the bonzo dog doo da band .Wonderful
This album got a bit of a hammering when it came out, as if it was a let down compared to his first Sir Henry LP, but I LOVED it! It just takes a bit of listening, it’s not as immediate as the first LP but its genius just takes a bit longer to sink in. Vivian Stanshall was a one-off…a comic genius in the Spike Milligan mould. But Viv could write better songs!!

Not a wasted word. Quite fantastic writing. Thanks for posting.
I have the album. Excellent Steadman artwork. "Kindness: The occasional necessary mercy killing......"
Funny stuff! There isn't a dry seat in the house.
don't think this is getting a retrospective review on The One Show anytime soon tho !!!
“Mister…in my country, you are, is and am…the wog”! lol!
Big fan of Stanshall but, whilst I liked the first side, overall a bit of a let down after the Rawlinson End.
A “let down”? No chance! Pure Stanshall genius!!
Nonsense. It’s every bit as great as the first one…it’s just takes longer to sink in!
