Place Making at Warangal Smart City

Greater Warangal Smart City, also considered Telangana’s cultural hub. Under the Smart Cities Mission, the city is focused on providing safe and accessible neighbourhoods.
Balasamudram is one such neighbourhood …where the local anganwadi has been transformed resulting in greater number of enrolments.
With a new road leading to it and its colourful welcoming interior, children now look forward to coming to the anganwadi centre daily. The area around the anganwadi centre has been revamped with road signages providing safe access to the school and parks in the vicinity. Earlier walking in the area was a challenge due to encroachments, but now children bicycle around happily.
In another corner of the city, smart city funds have been used to create the science park, which boasts of 17 different science experiment equipment that the children can access in a playful manner.
Greater Warangal’s efforts are paying off. These parks and angandwadis are reshaping the lives of the young citizens of Warangal.
