@@hyperdog67 what or how do we compare something to know how much or if indeed they are better at all without a sound bite of before and after the pickup change? I'm looking at getting some better pickup's for my bass, but I want to hear what I'm opting for! If it's punch and twangy top end I'm not interested, I'm looking for deep smooth bass sounds, for me I rarely use my j pickup and looking for more deep tonal response, I play reggae n dub, and I think I miss my stienberger active humbuckers, not convinced the P pickup is what I need, but I've been making do for the last 27 years! I think a new set of pickup's could make a huge difference, but is the EMG pj the way to go? Should I try n find some active version of the on or just buy another bass?

OK..now I know what you meant. What I'd do is go with a Steinberger Spirit bass. I did a review of one on my channel..if that's the sound you really liked. Keep in mind with this video of the amp I'm using. I'm playing through a Tech21 dUg Ultra 1000 head, and a Marshall 4x10 bottom. My tone is just what you described. Also, these pickups are based off of a Fender 60's P-Bass. I don't care what genre you're listening to from the 60's 70's ect, if it was done using a P-Bass...it's gonna sound like a P-Bass..you know what I mean? So don't let MY tone throw you off..it's still a P-Bass. But check out the Sprit bass..I owned a Steinberger in the 80's and I don't feel a difference in play? Hope this helps?

Please just turn your mids up a hair. It would give you a much Fuller tone. You are killing me with this

Why would you tell someone how to hear? I would NEVER in a million years go to someone's channel, and critique their tone? Tone is like tastebuds.. everyone tastes something slightly different.

I explain in another video that I swapped out the bridge for a Badass 2 bridge.. it's actually an Omega bridge.. the neck is a stock Squier neck.. pay no attention to the stickers on the headstock..

You should eliminate the tone knob and the second volume in favor of an on/off/on switch.
