- 3 months have passed since I posted our first "what our day looks like : training edition" and we are sharing an updated version where we share Aoki's updated routine!
Today, puppy training comprises of daily basic commands, tricks and leash training.

My shiba inu is a nightmare on the leash. She wants to check out everything while walking. I tried to lure her with treat, it didn't work. Everything else surrounding is just more interesting to her. Aoki did a good job on the leash.
Thank you! Yes same here - it was tough in the beginning. Still is sometimes! It takes Aoki a lot of practice. He’s not perfect but to continue practicing :) I recommend using very high value treats to increase interest!
Maybe you only show us the good parts, but Aoki is SO well behaved. I hope you're very proud of him and yourself!
Thank you Steve! You just gave me an idea - to do an unedited mini training session :) he needs to practice - sometimes he won’t listen to me especially if I don’t have treatos with me :p I am so proud of Aoki - he’s doing so well and is patient with me 🤎 he’s the bestest
I saw my first Shiba Inu when out walking. I loved how alert and proud it was. I was contemplating getting a dog and had a few breeds in mind. At that point I knew I wanted one. I now have Kenji an incredible male Shiba Inu! Trying can be a challenge at times with this very active and stubborn breed, but it’s worth it.
100% worth it! If you are ready for the challenge then yes! Aoki is my first dog and I could not ask for a better pup ❤️

Shiba's are relatively well-behaved! I'm always so happy about my lil shibe's progress. This breed catches on quick, but it takes consistency and discipline as an owner/trainer for sure
True that! Aoki learned pretty quickly ever since I got him. His behaviour definitely evolves as he grows up and I wonder if one day I’ll have to seek professional guidance. Time will tell us :)

You shiba is obedient. Mine 16b weeks old screams yells and bites when I tried to trim his nails. Also, pulling, and never comes on rcalling.
Recall is something you build with your pup. It took me over a year for Aoki to come back to me when called. Also use 1 word command for this. I don’t recommend calling his name as we tend to use their names a lot and it looses its value.

So my 5 month old Shiba is so similar to Urs. However when I need clip his nails or wipe him etc I put him on the bathroom counter Bcs it’s high up and he won’t move cuz he know he can’t go no where lol. He’s a crazy one tho , annnnd he’s a humper towards other dogs a lot.
Also I’m amazed u got him to speak Bcs Shiba are quite I would like to know how I got the the command speak to work
I am having such a hard time with nail trimming. it is a challenge! the speaking command was easy to teach, but as Aoki grew up, I noticed that he did not enjoy barking at me hahaha! He would refuse to speak on command. Now, he does whenever he feels like it or when I have his yummiest treat in my hand - instead of barking, he would whisper haha!
