Your collection is always so interesting. I really liked Celadon cat way more than I thought. The lighter inks sometimes are so pretty in swatches but not usable for writing.
Thank you for including where to get the paper you are using. I just ordered some. I had never heard of that brand before. I'm hoarding my last few packets of original Tomoe River paper like a miser! Anxious to see how this one performs.
This range of fountain pen color is candy for my eyes. Thank you for sharing these beauties with us. About the issue for the Raven + troublemaker ink : do you have similar problem with heavy sheen inks? Or is it related to the pen? What's your feeling or diagnosis?
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I tend to use sheening inks in wetter pens, because I know they can handle thicker inks. Drier writing pens and those that don't seal well tend to struggle a bit with sheening inks. The Raven Estie may be one that doesn't like sheening inks, or at least Troublemaker Inks.
Regarding the light coloring on the surface of the Estie Raven - do you store the pen in a case with an elastic band around the pen? I've seen the same thing on my Raven that is stored in a Galen 40-pen case and an Esterbrook 40-pen case
I don't store it in a case with an elastic band, but I did have it in a case where it rubbed against the walls every time I moved the case. So, that may be the culprit. I tried rubbing the pen immediately after applying (unscented) lotion to my hands, and it worked! There's a slight bit of shine where I may have rubbed a bit too much, but I'm happy with the results overall.
I just tried rubbing the pen immediately after I applied (unscented) lotion to my hands…and it worked! The pen looks great, again. There's a slight bit of shine in a couple spots where I may have rubbed a bit too much, but it's a vast improvement, and I'm happy with the results.
The Tree of Life pen is gorgeous 😍
So many beautiful pens in this video, but I'm smitten with the Skogsy pen. The material looks amazing. 😍
