Cleaning a truck that has a little bit of road grime and it still takes almost 15 minutes with a pressure washer. Hopefully this guy found a new career
Top down still works for hand washing, because you don’t want to bring the real grime up and harm the finish. Foam washes start from bottom up so the soap on the bottom has more dwell time to break down the dirtiest part of the vehicle.
i own a wash business and we have moble soft water and use the best soap in the industry. leaves them spot free. soap bottom to top rinse top to bottom. we wash show quality trucks too.
The majority of the cleaning was from the high pressure of the water and not some magic soap. Any prewash soap will usually require hand washing after.
For anyone wondering why you wash bottom-top, here is why. When foaming, you want to have as much contact with the truck and the foam as possible. When you rinse from TOP down, you interact with the foam with the pressure at the top, but the water runs down and removes a good amount of soap from the rest of the truck. This means you would either have to re foam, or go slower when pressure washing. If you go Bottom TOP, then the part you wash is the only part contacted with pressure, and no other areas are affected.
As water flows downward, if you wash from the top down, as each section is washed and rinsed, it's done. Now washing from the bottom up, dirty water keeps flowing down over areas just washed and rinsed. Also with a bottom up wash, you're giving the dirtiest area of a vehicle, the bottom, the least amount of contact time with the foam, and the top, cleanest area the most contact time.
@@dh2392 If you go top to bottom the dirty water from the top now rinses away the soap on the bottom. Now you have top and bottom with an equally low amount of contact time.
@@promodvette Not if you soap from the bottom up, wash and rinse from the top down. The dirtier lower sections will have more contact time with the soap, and you won't be running dirty water over areas already washed and rinsed.
Thank you dh I think you might of washed a truck or two soap bottom to top so you get no steaking on chrome rinse top to bottom so dirt don't run to bottom an stay on truck an streak the fuel tanks you could wash with me anytime
James E. Atkins the most dirt is at the bottom so it gets rinsed off twice he is not sponging the dirt around it’s contactless cleaning. So the dirt from the bottom is not going to go too the top.
Wasting time, water, and energy spraying. The cab still needs to be brushed to be cleaned properly. Sorry for being skeptical but I cleaned trucks for too many years. Most of the time it's the old brush and bucket.
I wonder what pressure washer that was? What psi and gpm on there? Also was it hooked up to a heater or was it just straight cold water? That soap looks like it worked real good. It’s not detail quality but when u have more then a few trucks that need to be done this is good enough for me. I haul crude oil so the truck is never gna be show truck detailed anyway. It’s clean enough for me I’m good.
@CheW BaCCa If alkaline is gonna cause streaks it gonna be worst washing and rinsing from bottom to top. The only and best remedy is a fast and quick wash/rinse. And acidic wash water is not recommend on polished aluminum (it dulls)... stainless steel can be done. The washer and camera people in the video are not a professional detailer or videographer.
Technique was close. Some variations of technique could possibly yield better results, but then- who ever does things exactly right while on camera right? "Top Down Only" is kind of an old school thought process. Fairly impressive for a single product/single pass wash.
No Steve you soap from the bottom up starting at rear driver tire an rim then you spray frame then back of tractor bottom to top then you spray side of tractor bottom to top the front bumber first then hood then windshield than passenger side bottom to top then passenger rear of truck to help it wet then frame then rear tires then you switch to high pressure and wet truck as you walk around truck so it don't dry then start with rear mud flap rear drivers side frame then rims an tires then rear of cab rinsing from top to bottom side of tractor again top to bottom then if it's got a windjam that would be the the thing that defleks the wind over the trailer this on don't have one then windshield then hood then front bumper then passenger side of cab top to bottom then you hit back of cab with water to get soap that rolled off of roof of truck then rear frame tires an rim then last but least the last mud flaps then you give a fast rinse on all of truck as you are pulling your hose back around truck to the driver side mud flap then you turn off machine collect your money from driver they drive off without running over hose I hate people that have never professionally washed a truck this guy that washed this truck would never ever wash a truck for me he is in the sun and never once misted that truck to keep it wet driver don't care if it take you 15 min they care if you wash their truck right it's their baby
What is the name of this stuff and 2nd you're supposed to range from top to bottom cause you're gonna have Dirt running down then you don't have to go over it all again instead of wasting water start from the top and work your way down tires and wheels are always last
should wash top down ... this guy is washing dirt over his previously cleaned areas. Not smart. Also I agree with the other comments, this is actually quite slow for truck cleaning.
Soap it up any way you like, but I was always taught to rinse from the top down, so you don't rinse dirty suds and stuff over already rinsed area, you use less water that way too because you don't have to keep going over the already rinsed area to wash off the dirty stuff running down.
Darrell Kerr it works just dont dilute it, foam canons already dilute the soaps so use it straight up in your foam canon and you will see excelent results
No way this is all azz backwards. Sorry but neither the washer nor the camera person is professional. The point of the video was to show the technique and results of a 15 minute soap up and power wash down...but the camera is all over the place rather at least showing where the pressure washer nozzle spray should contact the surface. Ideally no "professional" pressure washer or detailer wastes time and money wash/rinse going bottom to top. Always start from top to bottom so that water is conserved and there's no dirty water overrunning the 'just cleaned" surface areas.
Reasoning is to keep the soap on vehicle longer amd wash from bottom up and then rinse down instead of top down which would wash away all the lower soap
Wish my boss would invest in this awesome product, as it takes two hours to wash a simple 7:5 tonne rag side, with a brush and hose. Does it work better if the vehicle is dry before applying?
Its hard to resist not using a brush , it does not feel right . like waterless wash and wax on my care but to be fair fella the results speak for themselves
So....from this point 6:57 would you not say all the work he had did prior to this, on that particular side of the truck, is null and void do to the dirt and filth that is now being washed on to it? Would it not have been beneficial to (start) standing on the back of the truck then cleaning the lower sides? Just curious?
You could do it faster if you rinsed top to bottom - it results in a more effective clean, less streaking. Your rinse water flushes out the dirt below. Also... 200ml soap seems a bit much for one cleaning job. I bet you could get that truck just as clean with 100ml.
Why not leave the snow foam to dwell for as long as possible? I understand you want to wash the truck in under 15 minutes, but if you leave the product to dwell sufficiently you’ll end up with a cleaner truck.
Because you want to give the soap detergents maximum time to penetrate dirt, grease and brake dust. The Nerta doesn't stain ( even it's an alkaline ). Rinsing with clear water does the trick.

It'll strip it all if it's low pH and aggressive. High pH are for contact washes and coated surfaces as the soap isn't aggressive
