I remember the Bournemouth vs Norwich one live and saying he was better than prime neur. What made it funnier was the fact pukki scored the pen anyway!
Someone pointed out that Barton was probably trying to instigate someone into hitting/kicking him in the Aguero clip. I think he elbowed Tevez and was already being sent off (hence the huddle) so provoking someone into striking back would level the field. QPR only survived by a point that season and it was the final game, so it would somewhat make sense. That or he's Joey Barton
I’m pretty sure that’s exactly it. Pretty sure Zamora came up to him while the linesman was talking to the ref and told him he’s was getting sent off and to try and provoke someone on the city team into also getting a red. That and the ‘what are you going to do, give me another red’ mentality is why he did that. What a moment tbh 😂😂
tbf he picked his targets well, injure the star striker, elbow the bulldog, headbutt the captain, and then try to round it off with the most insane man in football (besides Barton ofc)
it's an interesting one; Tevez is running in behind him, Barton is holding him and marking him tightly, and they kinda both go for each other. Tevez kicks out a bit, Barton swings an arm, and only Barton gets sent off. His mindset's probably just take one of theirs off too, through a red or injury, he doesn't care which. The fact he walked around the group of players and picked out City's best striker is fucking funny though.
I'd like to see Paolo Guerrero attempting to end Sven Ulreich's active career in 2012 in there as well. I'd say it's fairly iconic, although maybe not so much outside of Germany.
this was even better that part 1 and filled out lots of the obvious misses, but incredibly, I still think there's another 20 or so nailed on iconic reds that still haven't been covered. great series, guys
Actually criminal the fact that its the second list and still doesn’t have the Gibbs’s sent off for Oxlade-Chamberlain’s handball in the Arsenal vs Chelsea match
In the first clip it starts of with a goal kick, and the goalie attempts to roll the ball to her defender. But when her defender doesn’t play the ball the goalie plays the ball instead. And since you can’t play the ball to yourself (you could basically just dribble then if that were the case) you have to kick/play it to someone else. So that’s the foul. And it’s a not a yellow because she didn’t have “a reasonable chains of playing the ball”, because she wasn’t even allowed to play it in the first place! For example: if someone attempts to tackle the ball off of the attacker inside the box. But just about misses it. It’s a pen and only a yellow. But if a hand ball stops a shot on the line it’s a red because you aren’t allowed to play the ball with your hands at all. So it’s not a “reasonable chains of winning the ball”. But obviously if the attacker skips past the goalie with the ball (and has a fairly good chans of reaching the ball and scoring) and the goalkeeper like leaves a leg out and trips the attacker, that would also be a red and pen. Pulling a shirt when the attacker is a fair distance away is also a red. Shoulder to shoulder shirt pulling wouldn’t be a red.
Got a red card for taking a corner once. The corner flag was quite literally in the center of the area you would put the ball so i pulled it out and put it in the corner. ref gave me a yellow and when i tried to explain to him why i moved it, i got a second for “time wasting” despite the fact my team was losing at the end of the game😂
Had a friend get a red for kicking the ball off the penalty mark. Captain told him to, we were winning 1-0 and it was the last second of the game. Me send the ball to the corner mark, got a red, went of the pitch and watched as the other guy missed the pen, all this while laughing.
10:24 recently in a charity game some UA-camr improved on this idea: after getting a yellow, he pulled an UNO reverse card out of his pocket and showed it to the ref.
If you do another one of these it absolutely has to include the Clint Dempsey incident during the “red card wedding” US Open Cup match between Seattle and Portland. I won’t spoil it too much but you should definitely look that game up. I was there to witness it and it was the most completely off the rails match I’ve ever seen
I was at the league game a few days later in Portland and someone in the Timbers Army had made a two-stick with the 7-Eleven logo done up in Seattle colors, in reference to how that match ended

My teammate got a red card a while ago for punching someone. Basically the guy was making fun of him so he turned around and punched him in the nose and it burst his nose and lip
Used to play in goal when I was younger and one game, this striker was always leaving a little bit extra on me. Always sliding and leaving his studs in when I rushed out to collect, bumping and pushing me on corners. Towards the end of the game, we were 4-1 up and ball comes over the top, I catch it and he falls over. I walk forward to kick the ball out my hands and he hooks my leg with his leg. I just got sick of his shit, turned round and full on stamped on his chest, booted the ball off his head and walked off the pitch. Obviously got a red and my dad had to pay £50 but was worth it!
10:16 Never in my lifetime did I expect to see Botafogo on this list LMAO was just commenting on how it's missing some stellar Brazillian ones and Voilá my favorite clip from Brasil shows up (that happens to be from my team as well haha I remember seeing that on TV!)
The player that kicks his shoe at the sideline ref his name is Yoav Ziv he is a retired Israeli soccer player, he played for a team called Maccabi Tel Aviv
I think more people should hear about a random defender in Polish Ekstraklasa, who once joined a fight on the pitch and got sent off. Nothing special so far, but he was a substitute and literally ran straight from the bench just to punch the opponent in the face
knew someone who got sent off in a semi pro game, went round the back of the stands, through the locker room, and turned the floodlights off, ending the game
A bit old school but Leonardo's elbow on Tab Ramos Brazil vs USA in 1994 World Cup. Added bonus Kevin Keegan trying argue that possibly the clearest red card in World Cup history wasn't in commentary.
There are many more red cards to show. A dutch ref gave a red card to a player while the card itself was still in it original sleeve. The red cards during the Portugal - Netherlands match at the 2006 WC. Suarez Handball WC 2010. Suarez taking a bite (3 times). The red card for Milik in a Juventus game. He got booked with a second yellow for taking his shirt off after a goal. The VAR disallowed the goal but the red wasn't canceled.
What's bad about the card being in the original sleeve? Do you mean like the cardholder so it's not easily visible as a red? All the cards I've ever used come in clear sleeves so while a bit tactless not completely bonkers. As for the Milik red, taking your shirt off is a cardable offence regardless of whether you score or not so doesn't matter if the VAR disallows the goal, don't take your shirt off. Be more badass like Aboubakar, score the winning goal, and take your shirt off for the second yellow knowing full well you'll get sent off and send yourself off.
My favourite thing about the Steven Taylor red card is after rolling around, when the ref gives him the red he just immediately gives up the act. He should have followed through and had 15 minutes of treatment on the pitch before being stretchered off and spending the night in the hospital as a precaution...
The best part of the McGregor red is him insisting that he never touched only for the replay to be shown in the dressing room and Gerrard asks him “what the fuck is wrong with you?”
After taking a goal kick the goal keeper can’t touch it until another player does, usually breaking this rule is a yellow but this gk denied a clear goal scoring chance making it a red
2 of these videos now and still no clip of Vinnie Jones timing his run so he crossed the halfway line at full speed on the whistle and two footing a winger
You should watch andy halliday talking about the Allan mcgregor red when he kicked the player in the back, it's funny seeing the inside the dressing room aftermath
Can we please have the following red cards looked at; Eric Cantona - kung fu kick Roy Keane - leg breaker on Haaland David Beckham - on Simeone Totti - second yellow for diving 2002 world cup Sol Campbell - elbows Ole Gunnar
A personal favorite of mine is Solskjaer's against Newcastle, but if you do another video you absolutely have to do Dean Windass where he completely took out Cudicini but somehow Cudicini got sent off, its amazing. Unfortunately there's little footage of the time Dean Windass got 3 cards in one match for Aberdeen or that would be the all time great.
