    I cannot decide which one I like the most.
    Man an OD Micarta inlay would look soooooo sick in that contour.....

    Love the thinner blade stock. Not crazy about the milling, but a lot of people love it. The smooth contoured ones are right up my alley.

    Production Archbishop, yes!!! Open space is excellent, love the thru work BHQ version but tough choice. These will be a 2019 hit, no doubt. Tough to beat the Fortis 2.0 but these will be great side by side. Thanks for the preview guys - Bird

    I'm really happy that we get the chance to go back through your models with updated materials and tweaks. I didnt know about FFNW until alot of the models were hard to find or get. This 2.0 versions is letting me get on board with some of the older, but fantastically designed models. Cant wait to see what's next. Keep up the great work guys

    The way you so firmly slammed the first few knives down on the table made me chuckle...kind of like watching a Virtuovice video. And BTW, I can see I will now need an Archbishop. Great design, great look.

    So glad to see you guys rocking on. I own the original archbishop and it has the smoothest action of any knife I own (and I own waaaaay too many knives). Best of luck in all that you do and may 2019 be your best year yet!

    Love the way these look and look forward to checking them out. Favorite is the carbon fiber inlay, but I wish it didn’t have the leftie clip option, it’d look so much cleaner.

    Hockey night!! Can not wait to grab one of these! I want to get your guys exclusive carbon inlay, but I cannot stop thinking about that chevron one since I visited you guys. I might have to go that route first... not sure yet. Great video guys, and I’m eagerly awaiting the steel talks coming up🤙

  • @mikem4259
    @mikem4259 5 років тому +1

    Woohoo!! I can’t wait to get my meathooks on one of these! The clips are kinda pocket destroyers, however. Especially when there’s any milling. An example is the my hex pattern fortis 2.0. I love that design, but the combination of the clip, with the edges on the hex’s sorts tear up my pockets. A different pattern would have made that a bit gentler on the pockets, but I love that hex pattern so much, it kinda makes it worth it.

    • @FerrumForge

      Pocket clips and lock scale milling are catch 22s. I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't.

      Oh yeah, definitely. You guys are the pros at design, and it certainly isn’t enough to put me off one I want, like the fortis pro with the hex pattern. A good knife is priceless compared to a pair of jeans.

    Wow this is great news. Of my last 5 knives 4 were Farrum Forge and it's looking like it's about to be 5 out of 6 lol. Really cool to hear your going with M390 on the Archbishop 2.0 for all the obvious reasons but also because the only complaint I heard at all about the Fortis 2.0 was it didn't seem to offer much more then the MD models that go for around $100 less. I'm sure the upgrade in steel and the very funky mill work on these will go a long way in fixing that issue. PS Can't wait to get my hands on THE MD/ Farrum Forge /Pro-tec in a few months ether. Waite shit that makes 6 out of 7 lol. I doubt you care but just in the interest of full disclosure the one knife I bought that wasn't a FF lately was a Burg Blades Iron Pup. Very cool knife also made by WE knives. 😉

    I just got mine. Wow! I love the design and the ergo’s. It’s damned near perfect. There’s only one nit pick, at least on mine, the detent isn’t as strong as my pro fortis. My fortis fires like a bullet, the archbishop, not quite as snappy, but I can’t fail it, and it’s very hard to shake out. It does what it’s supposed to, and that’s all that counts. I realize, for some people, it’s a complaint if the lock bar is too strong, etc. that being said, this knife is the perfect combination of form and function. I love the m390, i love the handle size, it’s a little smaller than the fortis, and the blade length is right at 3.5, whereas the fortis is a hair over. The jimping is real jimping, meaning it actually digs in rather than just being for show like on a lot of my knives. It’s actually functional. The finger choil (?) is perfect. I’m actually indifferent to finger choils, but it works great. This knife is a home run, for me. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

      The next model going into the Pro Series is a brand new design. It requires a bit more prototyping before we start teasing them.

    • @mikem4259
      @mikem4259 5 років тому

      Lol! Such a knife tease. Well, I’ve had this arch bishop pro for the last 5 days, and it hasn’t left my pocket. It’s broken in nicely. These pro line, and even the massdrop knives are better than the other production knives, like my ZT’s and Benchmade’s. They are now my go to’s along with my Chris reeve’s and my shirogorov.

    • @nofaithjusthope8714
      @nofaithjusthope8714 5 років тому

      I've got several FF knives and my only nit pick is when closing blade the ball on lock bar stops the blade from folding smoothly that really bothers me it's the only brand of knife that has such a strong resistance to closing, there could be a solution ie: have a chamfer on blade where ball meets blade so closing is smoother. I don't like the way they kind of snap back into closed position...if your grip is in the wrong spot yikes...carry bandaids. I've been tempted to take the knives apart and make a slight chamfer myself...I guess it's more than a "nit-pick" haha

    • @nofaithjusthope8714
      @nofaithjusthope8714 5 років тому

      I also notice the Archbishop 2.0 doesn't use the Hoback detent as original Archbishop and the pivot has changed too...both welcomed design changes IMO.
      BTW when I said I have a few FF knives...Archbishop Chevron, Archbishop Makers Choice, Gent, (2)Falcon's, NTAC Special Ed., and Septer.
      Tempted to get the Archbishop 2.0 Diamond pattern to go with my NTAC.

    Oh yes, I want one of those carbon fiber inlays! Love the look of the Archbishop 2s. I only wish you had kept the steel clip. While I love the look of milled clips, I'm finding they don't function nearly as well as steel clips.

    • @FerrumForge
      @FerrumForge  5 років тому +2

      The problem we run into is that reviewers and people on the internet always say the same thing "for that price these should have a milled titanium clip", it never fails. I actually agree with you, bent clips do work better, but my opinion doesn't really matter. I have to produce knives that people want to buy and provide the best perceived value, otherwise we go out of business.

    I've got to ask, WHY a backspacer (other than it seems to be the new thing to do)? What's wrong with the 2 pillar construction?
    What's the Rockwell on the temper?
    I'll be checking Thursday.

    • @FerrumForge
      @FerrumForge  5 років тому

      Those are great questions. I'm not a backspacer hater, but on the knives we make in house a backspacer adds a lot of cost and the pillars are a high precision part so they worked very nicely. On the import brand the cost difference between backspacers and pillar is negligible so I went for it on this run. If you want pillars on an Archbishop 2.0, we can install them instead of a backspacer. The M390 coming from WE is 60-61 RHc. The heat treater they use in Guongdong is an aerospace certified shop and they use a formula that is nearly identical to the one we have our state-side heat treaters use. Now that formula is very different from what we use for in house heat treatment, which maximizes wear resistance and make grinding pretty expensive considering I go thought about $30 in abrasives per blade.

    Would love to see a variant of the Chevron style based off old glory with a worn withered look. red scales, white chevrons, and blue hardware.

    • @FerrumForge
      @FerrumForge  5 років тому

      We wish we could pull that off right now. We don't have a good solution to create white on titanium. They discontinued the white Nano-Ceramic coating we like to use and we have not had good results with cerakote.

    • @DeeJay_USA
      @DeeJay_USA 5 років тому

      @@FerrumForge would it be possible to use a low gloss powder coat since the chevrons are offset into the handle? You already have the equipment in house, but i'm not sure how powder coating works on titanium.
