As for absences in this very brief summary:
    1. Dino (Croatia) - he wanted to come, but it was too late for him to cancel the scheduled concerts
    2. Maria Isabel (Spain) - also wanted to come but was prevented by her health condition (pregnancy)
    3. Kseniya (2005) and Alexey (2007) - Belarus was excluded from EBU structures, so their participation even as guests was excluded
    4. the Tolmachevy Twins (2006) and Polina (2017) - Russia left the EBU structures, a situation similar to Belarus
    5. Anastasiya (2012) - due to the war in Ukraine, she and her family received a humanitarian visa in the USA. Until she obtains citizenship or the war ends, she is not allowed to leave the US.
    6. Roksana Węgiel (Poland) - could not participate due to other commitments.
    I hope I helped ;)

lol why it participation of Belarusian winners was exluded. I am 100% sure i saw video of 2005 winner in tiktok explaining that she will not be able to come cause she's working on some kind of project in USA or whatever

@@vanad1um What were they supposed to say? Anyone who is up to date with the information knew the official EBU statement (see above) and the statements of the UNINVITED winners.
Anyway, in other respects, the "official messages" of Russia and Belarus are diametrically opposed to what is communicated in other countries on the same subject.

Fun fact: The French winners of 2020,2022 and 2023 (and the entries from 2018 onwards) was all wrote by Barbara Pravi, who did Eurovision herself in 2021, finishing second, and has wrote many Eurovision and junior Eurovision entries.

I recommend listening to the studio version of Armenia's 2021 winning entry, it such a bop and a great track that would've done very well at the adult Eurovision as well. I don't think any JESC entry can top it !!

Hi! The 2004 Spanish winner could not go because she was in her last months of pregnancy, but she wanted to participate. Most of the missing winners were Russian and Belarusian (the 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2017 winners), so I guess they didn't attend because of the veto for their countries, but I'm not sure.
The twins represented Russia at Eurovision 2014 and came in 7th place. Destiny represented Malta twice, in 2020 Eurovision was cancelled but she returned in 2021 and came 7th. This year, Iru (the middle girl from the group Candy) represented Georgia but unfortunately failed to qualify to the final.

Oh, wow. I didn't make the connection 😅
But, that makes a lot of sense.
Also, thank you for the explanation! I need to go back and watch some of their performances!

Those Bzikis who won in 2008 are from Georgia, you can watch it

2 reasons for winners who didn't attend : 1) Something personal and health issue eg the Spain girl was pregnant at that time.
    2) The War. That is why Ukrainian and Russian winners weren't there.
You can watch 2010 JESC performance they did the the same thing as it as celebration of 10 years. Previous winners (from 2003-2009). Most of them look like teenagera in it and the Georgian Bizz yellow guys are still kids in it and now they are in their late teens as you saw in this video

Thank you for explaining!! Because there were a few non-Russian/Belarusian people, I didn't put two and two together 😅😅
I'll check out the 10th anniversary!

do we know why the 2003 and 2018 winners couldn't attend?

    • @luisblue2004
      @luisblue2004 Рік тому +1

@@lexezlao yes. 2003 winner Dino is part of a Band and they were busy with the music and touring at that time. The 2018 Polish winner had her own thing but not very clear exactly what...but surely she was busy with something
