I have a growing suspicion that Shanks and Kaido never fought, Shanks instead probably told Kaido that if he is patient, someone will come give him the fight he craves.
The Roger pirates have been in the background, guiding Luffy and the Strawhats to their destiny. I firmly believe this is why Shanks gave Luffy the hat, it is a signal to the other Roger pirates that says, "here is Roger's inheritor, help him".

Shanks was never confirmed to have actually fought Kaido and it’s unlikely that he will now.
My headcanon is that Shanks promised Kaido that someone will come give him the fight he wants if he is patient.
Imagine Luffy, Shanks and Buggy vs BB.
Yeah, they are all Yonkos but BB is too OP right now and Luffy can't defeat it alone and he needs alliance with anyone to defeat him. So, I can see there's a possible alliance with Shanks and Buggy and Buggy even though he still resents Shanks and Luffy but at the same time he respects them and I don't think Buggy likes BB either.

Kata was also getting hurt by oven in one of the cover pages and Sanji was able to blitz him and Sanji got faster than that

@@musalefatle6454 Lucci isnt gonna land a hit on katakuri. Also (correct me if im wrong) i think luffy didnt infuse his punches with coc when he fought lucci. Katakuri has a strong armament, he might not be able to take down lucci that fast but for sure he will be defeated. Lucci aint first commander level. If he has future sight he would have a chance.

I tell myself so , it would have been to early for a yonko vs yonko fight at the time of marine fort arc.
Blackbeard struggled against ace ( a 2nd commander) .
Blackbeard fought and scar Shanks and escape.
How Shanks could have beaten kaido , a full blown Yonko and roll up in marine fort without injuries.
Shanks couldn't no diff a commander level Blackbeard but people want you to believe he defeat kaido , A yonko without any trouble
@@august9475 if you think blackbeard was just commander level, let alone shanks then you are definitely mistaken. Shanks had already been a yonko for years and had the 4 billion bounty and already had his fights with mihawk. If anything this should just make you wonder how he was able to scar shanks, maybe it was some kind of trap or blackbeard, as shanks put it, was just hiding in the shadow of whitebeard and getting stronger in secret
@@meetra5073 If I had say that Shanks is a commander, my mistake I was referring to Blackbeard. Why I think it should be impossible that Blackbeard or Blackbeard with crew to get a jump on Shanks is because of the other yonkos.

But Shanks is a yonko like them and Blackbeard on his own or with a crew got a jump on him. But If I ask if warlord Blackbeard vs mikawk , mihawk slap no question and mihawk is comparable to Shanks.
This why I'm saying due to the story , Shanks could have never fought kaido and win , went to marine fort to stop a war if Blackbeard that barely dealt with ace was able to injured Shanks. Kaido would have win if had fought shanks
@@august9475 we will see when we learn more. I'm betting we will get an explanation on it when the bb pirates and/or the red hair pirates become the main cast for an arc.
But considering the feats shanks has he is definitely on kaido's level or higher for a few reasons. Plus we don't know blackbeard's level without his DFs because he purposefully stayed low. And I think you are underestimating ace, he was able to fight yamato evenly who has adv coc and possibly an awakened DF (idk if she had either when she fought ace or used it but it still speaks levels to his combat skill).
1. Shanks is one of the first characters introduced but STILL hasn't gotten the spotlight, usually the characters in the beginning or the end are the strongest and shanks is both
2. He became a yonko after losing his arm
3. His feats in film red (which are canon) is stuff we haven't even heard about before, it hasn't even been stated that roger, whitebeard, or rocks have that kind of haki
4. He is on kaido's pedestal
