Stevie is consistent through and through with his musicality including his integrity and dedication to his wife & kid. His service to his community and the attitude of a reachable heart is heroic, very rare to an artist. A rare artist. Hope he stay grounded.

I am a bit surprised they had never heard the song “all through the night“ by Cindi Lauper before. Even more impressive, that they chose this song, despite their unfamiliarity with it, and stuck with it. He did an incredible version of it. Suited his voice !

Troy Plant, let me try to explain. This guy is a great singer, that’s for sure. But he didn’t sing the song better, he sang it differently, that’s all. First of all, he tried his best to show off his voice to appeal to the judges. Believe me the original singer has a superb voice, just the song is not about showing off vocals) here comes a second point, this guy here totally ruined the “image” of the song for me. Not sure why but when I hear his cover I get a depressing feeling. “All I want” is a song about hope not despair. It’s just my humble opinion, though.
@@Jetbullet777 I completely understand what you're saying. It might just be the fact that I connect more with the despair aspect, than the hope aspect. His does have more of a heavy tone to it and it hits me different personally. A great example is Trent Reznor from 9 inch nails. Their song hurt is about his drug addiction and the pain it caused within and his family and friends. While the Johnny Cash version is about his life and losing the ones he loves and growing old while knowing his time was coming. Like you said it all just comes down to taste. I'm not saying the original isn't good, because it is.(I know that's not what you mean lol) The music video that goes with it hits me in the heart (the guy who looks different and is treated like a freak, and etc) and gives you hope for humanity. I've always been into more somber themed songs. Love sad music,. No idea why, just my preference. So for you it's not better, just different. While for me, yes it's different but I think it's better than the original.

It's been scientifically proven that when singing accents dont come through
When I'm singing English songs (I'm Norwegian) I don't have an accent either. It's very hard to bring an accent into a song because even if you want to make the song "your own", you'll always try to emulate the original in some way. Even Norwegian accents, which are plentyful, does the same thing. I'm from the north, but if I sing songs made down south, I'll use that accent. Same with songs made within the western parts, I'll sing with a western accent. It's just how it is.

Really one of the best i've seen so far on the voice global. It's unbelievable no one invested on him! But very open he is not the only one. That is a strange world, where people with less talent are supported and become famous for no reason except that they are aligned with what "the industry" has decided to sell to the audience

So much is made of Stevie's voice, and rightfully so. But I think what gets a little lost in the conversation is his superb technique. The most important thing about having that much power in a voice is knowing how to use it, and control it. Stevie's control over the instrument in his throat is... ~chef's kiss*~

He's really good. Only few singers sing with pure soul, conveying the emotions they feel as they sing so you feel it too. Thats what i search for in singers, to make me feel what the song is. Because a song is not just words and sound, it's an arrangement of emotion.

I love Stevie’s voice! There’s so much gravel and grit in it, perfect rock voice. He sings with so much passion too. He’s got a strong head voice, great falsetto. I hope he got a recording contract after the show.
