Turkmenistan is NOT as bad as North Korea. For one, there is a LOT of immigration out of the country, meaning citizens _are_ allowed to leave. Its difficult to go through the airport but you can bribe just about anybody. People i know have all left because of the lack of employment or to improve their life quality, no one i know has actually *escaped* the country, most just up and leave. They even return every few years to refresh their passport and visa. I even know people saving money so they can go back and build a house there. I doubt a North Korean citizen would ever go back. They are one of the Turic countries invaded and assimilated by Russia. Their surnames were changed and their graves were destroyed. Now they live under soviet dictatorship but not nearly as bad as North Korea. Also they have free gas but thats really irrelevant if you live under a severe dictatorship. They also do have internet and can access apps illegally, social media is very popular. Anyway its really sad that the citizens have to immigrate and the regime is horrible, also completely a result of ww1 and ww2. Just wanted to give some info.

Awesome tour video about my country 😇Normally it's not empty that much, usually people going out for Picknick out there near those beautiful as called 3 leg building or 8 leg building, and in the Berkarar where you had lunch, it's crowded in the evening. The first traditional hat which is puffy usually groom is wearing once during their wedding (we are celebrating wedding almost for 4 days not including engagement ceremony) the other small hat with embroidery is mostly common and part of uniform at school and at the university but for girls the design and colour is a bit different than boys'. And that shopping place we call as a Russian bazar and idk why but most tourists visiting and shopping there😁 About Kowata, it's a mysterious place for me, and a bit creepy 😅 the water was clean and warm before, idk why there were white things 🤔 About food, you should have tried "Kelle bash ayak" it's a head and legs of sheep, sounds crazy but the taste is amazing, especially tongue and eye balls without the black, "Dograma" from meaning chopping/dicing (bread), you can eat that as a dry way or with soup😋, "Tamdyr somsa" it's like a meat pie but baked in a special oven called Tamdyr... Etc. I enjoyed watching this video

I think they are building something for the Future. And you guys (some other youtubers who got access) are slowly/silently promoting this Magestic World. But they not finished.. Its a long term plan.💎
It’s true though, about the white cars. It’s basic physics: white absorbs less heat. I heard something similar during a scientific segment on the radio. It could apparently have a real impact - at least densely populated areas. Did he really decide that for this reason? Or is he just obsessed with white (and gold)? 😂 The burning crater is insane!!
That's all I kept wondering too! I barely saw any women anywhere. Looks beautiful, opulent, but deserted :/ Doesn't feel welcoming. Maybe we're wrong, I don't know much about the region. He seemed very gracious and complimentary towards everyone but reception of a woman could be completely different. It closes our experience of the world off in a way male adventurers may not feel. I wonder if other travelers feel that sometimes. Happy travels, cool to see this video, be safe ✌

Its to keep the poor out of the country. These countries want rich people to come in with their cash. A lot of these countries have sanctions placed upon them and this is how they make a portion of their money to help the economy.
The people there are so poor they can't afford even the gasoline that's cheaper than water. Most homes have no running water. This country has been so badly run it's dying.

That country has one HOA (Government) department & if you step out of line you go to "Special" Parking 😂😂😂
Wow, everyone is just judging the country in the comments. Sometimes, just observing is okay. Nice video!
Exactly... Dont judge whatever you dont understand...
I have every right to judge authoritarian totalitarian regimes that horribly suppress their people, force them into labor, and forbid them from leaving. Get bent!
@@lenaannis8787 Everyone judges everything all the time,it's called"thinking".
@@rick-be No thinking is to get your body fm the couch and educate your self
6:10 I was like “what?but there a bunch of people!” until I realized they were trees.
Scary AF. Turkmenistan is that. YIKES 😳
An empty city of white with absolutely no people😢 WTF???
Still I’d choose Turkmenistan over North Korea
@@thelema3278 Underrated comment. You say so much between one line. Well done.
I look forward to seeing your evolution as you travel to more and more countries. Saludos!
The burning crater is insane!!
I saw/heard very few women. Would i be allowed to visit, and what kind of rules would i need to keep to if i could go?
That's all I kept wondering too! I barely saw any women anywhere. Looks beautiful, opulent, but deserted :/ Doesn't feel welcoming. Maybe we're wrong, I don't know much about the region. He seemed very gracious and complimentary towards everyone but reception of a woman could be completely different. It closes our experience of the world off in a way male adventurers may not feel. I wonder if other travelers feel that sometimes. Happy travels, cool to see this video, be safe ✌
It's a Muslim country: women are rarely visible in Muslim countries, and have few freedoms.
We didn't see their women and how they live. When we see their women we'll know how advanced they are as a society.
Come on... They can't possibly feature woman on tour, right ? 😂😂😂 You're so funny guys 👋😂
John Oliver on next week tonight did a whole program about the président. North korea's got nothing on him
Thank you for visiting our country ❤🎉
Nothing screams 'Merica' like a backwards ball cap.
I don't know if it was sensitive to delve into, but are there cultural nuances, including restrictions, that can be explored? Great great video I like it!
Don’t take pictures. You have to get an ok from the guide before any picture can be taken
Great video as usual 👌
What a fascinating place! Thank you for exploring it for us!
Thanks for watching :)
White & gold are really nice ...
strange indeed they have no one going to see any of the grandeur.
Wow. It’s such a young country! I wonder if the people of the country fear Russia doing to them what they’re doing to Ukraine… by the way… thank you for taking us along on your amazing travels!
PROBABILMENTE ESSENDO UNO STATO EX URSS ABBIANO TIMORE DELLA RUSSIA DI OGGI...😬
Where are human rights UN? all talk about Israel but why they don't investigate such countries
SONO DITTATURE MA NEUTRALI CIOE NON MUOVONO GUERRA CONTRO NESSUNO A MENO CHE NON SIANO COSTRETTI SE ATTACCATI DA QUALCHE PAZZO PRESIDENTE DI UN ALTRI PAESE...
Because this country does what it does by it’s own free will
@@gabrielleleclair7254 Dear god this is the dumbest statement yet. This country is the 2nd most oppressive in the world and ranks above N. Korea... what are you even talking about?
All of your statements are dumb. Since when has UN really sone shit for the people really? Damn what dumbster brains are found these days…
Autonomy!
Thanks for making a positive video of Turkmenistan. I am not from there, but all the vids on the internet just make fun about how strange the country is. They are what they are and we should respect it and enjoy it.
I think Centralia, PA is a bit more creepy in terms of the environment and atmosphere around it. Mine fire has been burning since 1962 and its expected to continue for 250 more years and a whopping 4 people still live there according to a census recently
20:54 Sorry to ask..where or how is toilet use working there, like in the yurt camp. Handy to bring toiletpaper/ Or is it available there.. Looks awesome, great video, and the hospitality, though not many people seen.. Amazing experience. Greetings from the Netherlands
So jealous that you went! You've been on a hot steak with your travel destinations!!
Keep going bro!
Trying to tell better and better stories 🙏🏽
I have so many comments. Outside of the city, I would want to meet a family and visit with them. What they do, eat, enjoy and so on. Sadly, I'm 68 but if I were younger, I would love to visit this country and learn. Amazingly, it is also spotless yet you do not see any workers!!!!!
It's worse than North Korea
@@andrewnippert3252not true
You said you now had more questions than answers. I got one. How about WHY THERE ARE NO PEOPLE?! Seems really obvious.....
In the video it has been explained that the population is indeed small & many of them immigrate to other places 🙄🙃 come on, wake up
Thanks for this vid! Planning on going there myself in the next 6-8 months. Any chance you could post or send me contact info for your Turkmen tour company and Tim? Seems like an upright operation and good value for what you paid! Thanks!
I used Trawelco! They handled my visa for me and were really good to work with.

Being taken to "special parking" if you have a black car. That's interesting
Cool video man! I checked for some flights to Turkmeni from Istanbul and wow they are so expensive all the time. Like extreme. Why is this?
Its to keep the poor out of the country. These countries want rich people to come in with their cash. A lot of these countries have sanctions placed upon them and this is how they make a portion of their money to help the economy.
What a place. The food really looks good and everything is so clean and I like the fact that you can leave your bag and no one will steal it!😊
How you gonna have a golden dog statue in your capital, but don't allow dogs in ghe same city?
The people there are so poor they can't afford even the gasoline that's cheaper than water.
Most homes have no running water.
This country has been so badly run it's dying.
The light coloured cars do not overheat like black grey and navy
So what? You should still be able to choose what color car you want. Stop making excuses for dictators
wow hello Turkmenistan shout out from the Philippines, vlogs like these are awesome thanks
What a fascinating place so clean and beautiful "no crime" even better ... I like the white car rule ... love following you on your travels .. what time of year is it ... take care 😊
Thanks for watching!!
You got TurkishTea! As payment for this luxury, you must visit Turkmenistan! Fair is fair!
I’m totally moving there leaving your bags in the street and no one will steal them no technology love it no people love it no crime love it . Oh my god no wifi it’s the end off the world LOVE IT
Yeah you can’t really move here. It’s very hard to even visit here. Most people are denied the visa
They don't want you
Ty so very much for the tour.
They seem you coming and told everyone to stay away from you.
Be safe in t
Your travels Brother
It's crazy how little research this dude has done. 😅
He is only a propaganda tool.
I loved this video!!! I’ve been super interested in Turkmenistan lately because it’s such a unique and strange country. I realize it’s an incredibly controlling government and generally I think it’s very hard for the average person living there. But it’s so rare and fascinating to get these kinds of glimpses into countries like this. Even if it was somewhat contrived by the government and guides 🤷🏻♀️ who knows. Very cool to see though. Thank you!
How much did the entire trip cost?
I prefer the old town of Asgabat to the ever present monuments, and the open-air markets. Some things your not allowed to see or film, given it's such a repressive dictatorship. The capital being empty of people is so eerie! 😮 Jordan, I appreciate this rare peek into an isolated country. Many thanks! 😁👍🏻👍🏻😸👏🏻👏🏻
not a bot but I really love the camera work and narration and flow of ur videos
Thank you! Means a lot
Your presentation is wonderful, just super crystal clean and clear, its meticulously pristine and so unique, surely there should be some special significance behind all this that we see. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to venture into this part of the world. God bless you with more zeal and strength to explore and circumnavigate this awe-inspiring wonderful world. This is a wondrous, beautiful summation of everything I was thinking. You’ve managed to captured everything that was in my heart and on my mind!!!
For all the awful things the internet is used for nowadays….videos like these greatly, GREATLY make up for it!!! He did a stellar job, truly. WOW, what a marvelous adventure 🥹😍🙏🏾
Like it. Neat and clean. No crime like England. Peaceful.
