    Great video. Just started looking for these types of videos. I’m on the Diamond Princess in Jan 2022. Can you tell me how heavy a coat you need? I know we are not getting off of course in Antarctica but the other stops look quite cold. Thanks.

      Glad you liked the video. The coldest part was when we were down in Antarctica. The wind was freezing and it did snow a little one morning. You definitely need gloves, hats and a very warm jacket. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

    What an amazing video. You did an exceptional job filming the experience and adding just enough commentary for the viewer to feel part of the experience. That cruise with Princess is on my bucket list. The view of Cape Horn was spectacular!!! Did you participate in any of the enrichment programs? If so, were they helpful? I plan to study about the areas on the itinerary once I book the cruise, so I will be well informed. Was there anything about the itinerary that did not meet your expectations? On a scale from 1- 10, with 10 being fabulous, how would you rate the cruise?

    • @gplumridge9813
      @gplumridge9813  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for your comments. The whole itinerary was great as it's a very unique part of the world and we enjoyed it all. There were lots of enrichment programs and we attended many and learnt a lot about Antarctica (history, wildlife, weather etc.) and thoroughly enjoyed them. Could only rate the entire cruise a 10 out of 10. It was amazing. It was better than what a video could convey.
      Hopefully it's not too long before you can experience it for yourself.

    I really enjoyed your wonderful video. We have booked a Azamara Antarctica cruise on Jan 7, 2023. Google search shows days high temperature there is minus 37 degree Ferenheit. But in your video captain said today's temperature is about 37 degree. Not minus. We can handle 37 degree F but not minus. What was average day temperature during the four days in Antarctica? Thanks for helping us decide on what clothes we need.

      Can't remember the exact temperature, but it was icy. Needed jackets, gloves and hats then still went inside regularly to warm up. It did snow early one morning and I have seen videos with very heavy snow on the decks. So it will definitely be cold but it's all worth it. Have a great trip.

    Looks like an incredible trip. My wife and I have considered taking such a cruise. Were there any children on board? We would take our son when he is 8-10.
    Also, what sort of camera lens did you use to film the whales/penguins? Extreme telephoto?

    • @gplumridge9813
      @gplumridge9813  Рік тому

      Is was an incredible trip and I'm sure you would thoroughly enjoy like we did.
      There were children on board and they have a Kids Club that provides many activities for them.
      I use a medium quality video camera which has a 50X lens, so not an extreme telephoto lens. The whales were very close to the ship and the penguins a bit further.
      I hope you get to do it someday.
