The Marshall situation a good amount of the players are going with the coach, so they’re still building a program just gonna be a different program. In the cases where these smaller schools coach leaves for a bigger school job yea I can see why, but most the transfer portal are kids at big schools who think they should be playing cause they were top dog at their high school and they’re not now at a big D1 program. If they really want to resolve this situation of players and coaches dropping out of bowl games they need to not open Free Agency period while the season is still going on.. this makes no sense, teams in the playoffs coaches said they need to divide time up for preparing for the game but also trying to recruit transfers in the portal.. imagine if the NFL started Free agency as soon as the regular season ended.. like who thought that was a good idea? To be fair, fighting through adversity and sitting for years does build character but only works out rarely. A lot of these players justifiably are looking for the opportunity to play. It would be bad for you to sit for three years and hope in your senior year that you actually start and not get injured.
