I bought the bamboo containers and some smaller mason jars for spices and I love them! My husband put shelves with a lip on the inside of the pantry door to store them and it looks so nice! Thank you for the motivation ❤️
Just a reminder xylitol is EXTREMELY TOXIC to dogs. I put the capital letters because this is considered highly toxic to dogs even in tiny amounts .. our dog is 15 but she’s like a puppy in that she will eat anything . She got in chewing gum last year but thank God it didn’t have this ingredient.. I love your Thrive Market haul. I’ve been thinking of ordering from Thrive so this is a good time . Your home is beautiful and looks sparkling before you clean .

To get my oven racks clean and back to their original shiny stainless steel gleam with very little scrubbing I close up the drain in the laundry tub or bath tub take 3 or 4 Cascade dishwasher tabs and throw them in and dissolve them with boiling water, once they are dissolved I fill the tub with hot tap water put the racks in and cover them as much as possible, the bathtub works good, leave in there for a few hours and the gunk practically just wipes right off. If it is heavy you can repeat and or use a scotch brite sponge and wipe the rack with that then wash everything with warm soapy water, rinse and dry, comes out great every time ❤

Another motivational, encouraging cleaning video, Robin. I've been using the ecloths since I moved into my new house 6 mos ago and I'm still so impressed with them! I use them all the time with my vinegar, rubbing alcohol and water cleaning solution in a spray bottle and they clean everything perfectly!

I have a 3 tiered shelf and i alphabetize the spices. So it's relatively easy to know which shelf the spice is on.
I always have to chuckle when you clean bc it always already looks spotless on camera. The oven racks were the only places I could see any mess. You're s marvelous housekeeper!

I’m going to have get one of those nonstick oven liners. I remember you compared different methods to clean your racks. I still need to try the Dawn power wash.
For my spices I finally bought one of those 3 tier expandable spice racks. I bought some spice bottles that were all the same size and decanted most of my spices in those and labeled them. On another shelf I have a 2 tier lazy Susan. On the top I have larger spice containers. A few years ago I put my spices in mostly alphabetical order. It only took me about 40 years to decide to do that. Haha. I have a basket for the packets of spices I use to refill my jars. Looking forward to see what you come up with.

Hi Lisa - Yes I do! I like to grind up some lemon or lime rinds along with some baking soda. That usually does the trick when I do it regularly (every few weeks). I also find it helps to run the disposal every evening while running hot water just be sure it is clear of any little food bits so that nothing has a chance to accumulate in there. Hope that helps! 🎄🦌🛷❤️

Try Mason jars, the jam size, for your spices. Putting them in like containers help organize them. The jam size fits most spices so you don't have to store the left overs.

Gneiss makes magnetic spice organizers that you can hang on the wall. They offer sets with common spices and even empty ones to put your own in. I plan to get one when we get our next place. Some Etsy stores offer spice storage that is underneath a cabinet. Great haul and deep cleaning.

Do you have another drawer you can repurpose as spice drawer number two? Or a wider drawer?
I really think there's no better way to store spices than in a drawer.
My spice drawer is quite wide and has a rack to store the spice jars on an angle so you can see the labels. It's brilliant.

We have IKEA cabinets and we use the IKEA spice drawer inserts. They can be fit to any size drawer. We currently have our spices in a small drawer like yours. Also want to suggest steel wool pad for scrubbing oven racks.

ok, so a short about simple living came up on my feed and she reorganized her spices in the cupboard. instead of those tiered racks, she had what looked like mesh metal trays (like for an in/out box on a desk) stacked on each other. then she laid the spice bottles on their side and the name of the spice on the lid facing out. am I explaining this well? anyway, I've never seen spices organized like that and it made so much more sense. I too am looking for a way to organize my spices in the cupboard. I think things like sauces though work best on a lazy Susan.

You are an inspiration to us all. I love the E cloths that you got years ago and now I always use them.
I know that someone suggested to me the double decker spice racks I know Amazon carries them. Another person said you could get the shelves that pull out like the refrigerator shelves. I have not found a solution either. Let me know. I have a spice rack on the outside of my cabinet which looks just like my oak cabinets and I have like that. I have the rotating lazy Susans and they have helped too. I will be anxious to see your suggestion.

There are some restrictions on what you can use in a self-cleaning oven, I believe. Check before you try something.
My kitchen cabinets are made of cherry wood. Can you use the microfiber cloth with just water? How about keeping the wood from drying out? Thank you for sharing tips to make cooking and cleaning. Have a blessed Christmas season. Loved your background music. 😊
Hi Cynthia! You should be able to use microfiber on your cabinets, but I would test a small section just to be sure it doesn’t remove the finish first. Because I don’t have natural wood cabinets, I’m not sure which products to recommend, but I would use something to condition the wood if it seems dry such as Murphy’s Oil or Method Wood For Good.

Oh Robin what a great job. Your kitchen looks sparkling. My needs help. I keep it neat and tidy but it needs a good cleaning. I’ve been doing a lot more cooking since I’ve been trying to eat more nutrient rich foods. I’ve kind of had a little setback. I’m someone who tends to overdo whatever I’m doing. recently I used a lot heavier weights than what I was approved by rehab. I did this on my own without their consent. I thought if 5 pound weights are good then maybe 20 pounds would be better. Anyway I think I have strained the intercoastal muscle that’s at the top of your rib cage and goes around to the back. It’s the place that usually hurts when you’ve been coughing a lot. Anyway it’s very painful and it has spasms that leaves me breathless I will talk to them at rehab about what I have done or maybe even see a doctor. This is kind of what I normally do. I’ll get to doing really good and then I’ll overdo it. Seems like I never learn but I just want to get better so bad. I was trying to think Robin how long I’ve been watching you. i’ve just received my Erin Condren planner for the fifth year so I know it’s been at least that long because you’re the one that got me going on that. But I think it might’ve been a couple years before that. Just don’t know. I do know that you are a precious Christian friend. Love in Christ
