its so refreshing when you show your old beat car and the fact that you dont have millions to spend, the internett glory-fies so much and is such a big reason people are depressed / sad. Thanks dude..
This was amazing man, your tonality is seriously undefeated. You really have your vibe and self awareness dialled in. Great job dad! Your family is extremely blessed for the way you love and nurture them. Much respect and love bro, keep growing that nest egg! 🙏🏽🏁
This is beautiful, Eric. As a 29 year old dad, im currently living and learning the things you're talking about. More importantly though, is the fact that a lot of young men need to hear this in the way you presented it. Thank you for the humily and love you put into this. Thanks for leading by example. We are changing family trees entirely. Much love, brother. God bless.
Wow... this was great. I was bracing myself for some grandiose net worth - a humble brag, if you will. And it wasn’t. It was real, grounded, earthy, honest, vulnerable, and transparent. Thank you for setting a healthy example. This was really amazing.
This is an inspirational video for all creatives who think that they have to have everything together right away. Thanks for showing the rest of us that we can just start BEING SMART now to save up for a home (unless you're in the Bay Area).
this was awesome!! so helpful and informational (and funny) from start to finish. your videos have been a big inspiration to me as I slowly start to build towards my own future and I'm so thankful the algorithm showed me one of your videos.
I love this!!!! As a teenager who struggles with anxiety, I am always worried about my future. Whenever I ask questions about things like this, I am always told it rude to ask. I really enjoyed watching this and learning about debt and finances. Thank you Eric :)
Probably the biggest relief you can experience in your life is to realize that you absolutely don't have to be anyone or obtain anything special at all, it's just an external expectation from parents and society. Basic necessities are relatively easy to get, everything else is just desire. I'm not saying you have to be a hermit, but I know the consuming feel of anxiety that comes from worrying about our future - set goals but at the same time take it easy, nothing in life matters more than having peace of mind - and that doesn't cost a single penny.
truly a phenomenal video, hits on all the things i’m interested in. i’m finishing up my first full year as a photographer and am excited to see my post-tax profit so i can analyze, grow, and give to others. Thank you Eric.
Dave Ramsey would be proud! We started paying ALL of our debt off this year since we're both out of school and working now. Looking at ALL of these things are uncomfortable but as you said, Its freeing! Good stuff Eric.
Found this video after your 2021 UA-camr video and very happy I came across your channel today. Love your style and channel. Really authentic and it comes through in the videos. Excited to keep following throughout the year!
Man, I have been watching you for some time and have always had the utmost respect for you and how humble and transparent you are. You inspired me to start two of my own photography businesses in the past two years. This video also provided a ton of insight into finances which I have always been so bad with. Thanks for always spreading a positive vibe and for sharing your knowledge!
dang, that's a lot of cash on hand. 27 here and i am like 95%+ in some sort of investment. Never thought about how much cash i'd hold if I had 2 kids... may have to change my outlook in the future
a) td ameritrade, let's goooo! time to yolo on some TSLA weeklies. b) "don't move to chicago." - got it. also, thinking i should shoot more c200 raw - looks really nice!
a) alright, meetkevin, calm down. b) this does not apply to you ever do you hear me yes. Transcoded to Prores 1080LT and upscaled back to 4K; I'm in love.
Thank you Eric 🙏 God bless you and your family! I really like that your goal is your kids, your family! This is what so so many people lose on. Keep inspiring 👍😉
Dude, love the breakdown. Very inspiring. I'm just digging myself out of debt. I might need to quit fashion photography and switch to weddings and video. Especially in the consumer market vs chasing small local businesses and brands that are struggling.
This is now one of my favourite channels, simply because you're living what I aim to achieve in the next 5-10 years. It's real and i can follow your blueprint (minus the wife and kids).
Mostly just commenting for the algorithm. I’m glad I just found your channel. I’m almost your age though, so I’ll consider you the UA-cam brother instead of dad.
You’re the best UA-cam dad there ever was, just saying. But for real, We love these videos about how you manage and make more $!! so helpful - your print store tip from your other video has made us thousands that went to our credit card debt!
Love it dude! The most helpful thing for me in growing my net worth was to stop overthinking it, and automate as much as possible. If I have to consciously invest part of my paycheck every week/month, it’s easy to ease up and not invest as much or as often. But if money gets automatically invested before I get a chance to even think about spending it, then I can budget accordingly and not be as prone to frivolous impulse purchases. This stuff is crucial, great content as always $$$
Thanks for sharing! this is super inspirational. As an aspiring creative, I think many more people need to hear and see this! great job with those personal finance goals :)
Wow, All good stuff to know. Great information. When I was 29, I barely had a penny to my name! I quit my day job in 2015. In my 3rd year I hit 100K as a full time filmmaker. When I started, I started both a corporate and weddings filmmaking businesses under separate names. My corporate far outweighs the weddings. 6th years in now and acquired a 100k budget for a 60 minute charter school documentary. The corporate work is just so much more profitable.
Awesome video. Glad I got recommended. Finally, a UA-camr doing a new worth video that doesn't start out I'm worth 10 million dollars. Such a humble dude.
Thank you Eric. Even though it's a little different in the EU I am really thankful that you made this video. I currently highly undervalue my work so much and I really need to take more responsibility for charging what is appropriate. Your videos help A LOT with being more confident negotiating prices. Also, debts are real. It's not a crazy high amount like student loans in the US, but as you said getting rid of them ASAP is the best thing I can do right now. Greeting from Germany. And no I won't move to Chicago lol.
I like the vibe hahaha, that cut away to you and your car was funny af 😂 You`re an inspiration man for my own freelance/UA-cam work, thanks for sharing some financial insights :)
Really cool video with a meaning behind it. I started investing at 13 for that exact reason so I can not have to worry about putting food on the table when I get older.
I started watching your wedding videography tips. I just saved up for a Canon T8i and now I’m saving up for a new lens... but thanks (no sarcasm, for real!) this video is super informative as well!!
Thanks so much! Totally. I just don't like thinking that way, just because I always want to keep myself in check with what I still owe on mortgages. We'll definitely be borrowing against properties in the future for real estate endeavors though! 😊
I'm terrible with money at 25 years and hoping to make a change! this video and your "How much I made in 2020..." has motivated me to push to healthier money habits so thank you. 20k in assets (Camera Gear), 3k in cash and 10k in Retirement at 25... see you in 5 years ;) Love ya work
great video, and thanks for the transparency and openness .... question - didnt you subtract the debt of your mortgage twice, or am i missing something... it isnt -$89k, wouldnt it be value of home - mortgage owed?
I think he is calculating net worth incorrectly, but at the en of the video he also explained why he calculate it that way. If he can sell his house with that 300k value he says then his net worth will be the real net worth.
Assets minus liabilities meaning your condo is worth $305k and so you subtract $197k you owe. What you did was took your net equity and then subtracted the $197k again so essentially you subtracted your mortgage balance twice. Your net worth is over 200k if you account for your mortgage balance only once.
Bro....too cute. Awesome video dad. You just had to pull at my emotions😭😭😭. Your pretty damn good at that lol. Such a thoughtful and helpful video. One of my favorites Eric for real bro bro. Couple things....one it’s totally okay to flex! Second...what’s in that glass😈? Love the dad van and the CRV. It’s totally worth what they said it is trust me lol. Thank you dude for your channel and for letting us into ur world. Much much much love to you and your family. UA-cam’s favorite dad😂
Michael! I can always trust that you'll leave a comment that's gonna make me misty-eyed! Thanks so much, brother. Your encouragement this year has meant so much to me. Seriously. Thank you. It's Koval Whiskey, and it's some of the best stuff in Chicago 😏

im also dead hahhahahah

Haha, I’m the same!! I always steer the conversation toward business or marketing😂
That means you’re ahead of at least 50% of Americans. And a responsible creative!! Also an important video for aspiring creatives.
Dude, I love how transparent you are! Super inspiring to me as a 21 year old married creative growing my brand and our creative endeavors! Thank you 🙏
Level-headed, no "get rich quick" mentality and a stand up guy.
Cheers to you and your family.
