Mawphlang is a town in the East Khasi Hills region of Meghalaya state in north-eastern India, The word ‘maw’ signifies "stone", ‘phlang’ signifies "grass”,
Heritage village : The village has houses worked in the regular Khasi style with rooms, kitchens, storage facilities and so on. A historical center is likewise kept to show relics, instruments, and weapons, customary day to day and infrequent things that were widely utilized by the Khasis.
These traditional houses signifies the presence of the traditional institutions in Khasi hills called the ‘Hima’ or kingdom.
