I got this watch when I enlisted in the USCG almost 20 years ago. I was a boat operator and it was useful to keep track of the tides. Its been in the drawer for the last 5-6 years and I just pulled it out. Charged up fine under the sun for a couple hours. Still going strong!
I received one today as a gift for Christmas from my dad. Ive owned a few G shocks over the years but this is my first negative display. So far so good with the watch, it feels nice on my wrist
I've had mine about more than 10 yrs. In shower, ocean, rivers, lakes. The band finally broke last month. I got a new Mud master upgrade, but then decided to revive this one with a nato strap. Still going strong.
You can turn on auto light so when you flick your wrist towards you it triggers the back ground light. Handy when your hands are full. This is my go to fishing watch. Great vid as usual!
Eyeing this up as my next G-Shock, cheers for the solid review. Noticed that this is the watch worn by Michael B. Jordan in the 2021 film 'Without Remorse' too
"G-Rescue" is what I've found as a nickname. Great watch, I really like mine. Nice size, great features, the buttons are big and super-easy to push; I plan on putting mine into a white bezel and strap, it should really pop with the negative display. You can normally find these at a very good price secondhand.
I had my g shock gw-7900b in my dresser drawer, never to see any sun. I would say 5 years later (this week) I took it out to get a new battery. Found out they cost 45 bucks to replace. My jeweler guy told me to leave under a lamp for 48hr. I did so or tried to and it powered up. Seems to be working fine. I would say it got over 40 hours under a lamp. I'm wearing it out today and it's been exposed to sun. Excellent watch.
I used to leave mine on the window sill once a month or so. Or try and wear it out, even if just going to the shop- natural sunlight will charge it much more.
Looks neat in the black on black colorway, and I'm weighing the cool factor of this one against the practicality of the positive display vers. Tough choice
Hi! I have the same watch and I have a question. Is it normal for the 4 screws on the front to be loose? I've tried to screw it them, but they just go around.... Thanks
It is normal, they are decorative, you can buy them easy online if you lose them,or you can glue them or something, what some do.but i think its stupid.i have mine for 5 years and screws are there altough as you say, they go around..they are lugs, not screws actualy and as a part of schock absorbing system of the watch they can not be screwed ,they need to be as they are.if you worry pull them out,put a bit super glue and put them back, but i would not do it.all 4 you can buy online for a few bucks
Great vid as usual !! What's your thoughts on the radio tower in the USA getting closed? Effectively Multi band watches in the US will become like regular watches
It's going to suck. Just bought a Citizen Blue Angles Atomic watch. I wouldn't have bought it had I known this. It gains a second and a half a day if it doesn't update. I wouldn't even know how to manually set the damn thing. Thinking about selling it.
I had this watch. I think. But lost it … My cat knocked it over from the table into a trash bag I must’ve left below I think. Miss this watch. But I don’t remember the wrist wing. 😢
I had one of these but it only lasted a day before I had to send it back. I really wanted to like it but found the negative display virtually unusable. Exchanged it for the positive display version which is much better.
Larry Duncan hopefully it doesn’t go away. My pro trek and g-shocks will just be regular at that point and lose a valuable selling point to these watches.
I'm hearing 2019 if it happens, which will be incredibly sad. I would be very surprised if Casio and Citizen aren't lobbying against it as it would hurt their sales and seemingly require a ton of recalls on watches that would no longer work as advertised, etc, but I haven't been seeing any public evidence that they are yet. ua-cam.com/video/ApN6SpaTREc/v-deo.html
@@PepeDeezNutz Yes, I actually contacted someone at the NIST and they said the signal was NOT being retired. All my Casios are still working fine these days.

Cool G shock. That watch is a beast! The negative display is pretty cool.

Same went through 2 factory straps since 2014. I’m going to upgrade to a Zulu band.
@@sody2291 I’d go Zulu as it’s not double the material. The watch is already thick
I've had mine since 2012 or 13, not sure, it now has its 3rd band. I hope i can fit 22mm zulu on it.
i prefer the 7900 gw above all gshocks

Same use it while wade fishin on the gulf coast, lasted the past 2 years for me, great watch

I wear it also -:)), it is a great watch
I have this for 3 days and I love it !
I’ve got a 7in wrist and was always worried it would wear too big but might grab one
Got mine yesterday. I bought a gx-56bb but I sent that back and got this instead. I love it so far.

That's heavy on style points for me. I like it a lot. I'm getting this, negative display and all
Great watch!
This used to be called the Rescue. I'm not sure if there is a special name for the negative display model
Nice. Negative Rescue, haha.
It's called the Eucser
I dont know why but when i look at this watch, it’s remind me of Firefighter or firetruck
Yeah I have a rescue, it’s the grandfather of this model I think. Same dial layout though
Rescue Black
Hi rob thanks for the videos I love my g shock watches just got the one your viewing great watch thanks again 👍
Random "im not going to get into that" Rob. 😂😂😂
Probably the most vague review of a watch I’ve ever seen

Solar atomic rescue
Hello.what do you think of this watch on are 8 inch wrist? is this watch suitable?
yes, I have around 8 and looks and fit well.
My watch just got into CHG how i will back it into normal?
Calvinsinke charge it in direct sunlight
Anybody know when the atomic time signal will go away? Sucks that all the multi band g shocks will not sync is US
Not sure, I think there's another judicial step before it can be taken offline.
