how do i go about replacing the sd card? was considering swapping it out, heard the stock card is not very reliable
@Luuka-Chan389 Hello there. Once you get the new micro sd card you'll need to re-flash the image file to it. This page github.com/Dteyn/Datafrog_SF2000_Vanilla , has the vanilla image and all of the instructions that you need so that you can flash it, then you should be able to use the latest version of the Tadpole Application to customize as you wish.
s1eepy sent me here!!!! Never underestimate the power of the Frogstation!
Awesome! Thanks for watching and for the support. And yes indeed 🙂
Hey thanks for this! Really appreciate you not just telling us, but actually going and showing the changes made afterwards. Now I can put the Kirby games up front for my daughter. 😂
No problem friend. Thanks for watching and supporting.
Customizing these things is fun! Thanks for the tutorial!
It sure is! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the walkthrough I needed this.
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching.
Thanks so much! My console was not even turning on and now I can use it. Great!
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching.
I might need to grab one of these now that improvements have happened.
Hmmmm, I'd weigh the options. For $30 more than what this device is going for you can get a more powerful handheld with better performance and compatibility. But on the other hand, for $20 or less this one isn't that bad. Just have to tinker with it a bit. SNES and GBA are definitely hit or miss with performance. Everything else pretty much plays as expected.
I subbed buddy. This will be my first stop’ Sounds great so far. I’ll watch it
In full later tonight.
Many thanks friend. Much love.
Excellent tutorial walk through. Thank you.
Thanks for watching.
Thank you for this video! Sheesh! Keep em coming!
You're very welcome. Thanks for watching and supporting.
I just got mine and it's worth it after updating the firmware and using tadpole to replace roms and change the theme
Yes, indeed. There are a lot of extra roms on there that definitely need removal/replacing. I haven't got around to doing that just yet. But it is much better for sure after the tweaks. I'm hoping to see more development with this device in the future. Performance wise anyway.
@@snoleygames yeah I joined the retro handheld discord to keep up with the development of it. For me it works good enough but I'm sure it will get better over time.
@@jerryrivera6328 I feel you.
Awesome video!
I hope this gets let loose for public viewing.
As a member I'd be happy with your B rolls of content. Unedited stuff. Maybe of you making beats or something
It will. Members just see it first. And as for Unedited stuff or making beats... I'll see what I can do 🙂
Thanks for a superb video
My pleasure. Thanks for watching and supporting.
Great video and info..thank you 👍🤟👍😎
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
this is a cool video man!
Thanks bro!
Loved the tutorial. Any suggestions for 100% unresponsive buttons?
Thanks for watching. Outside of what's there, not really. I hear that you can swap the d-pad and face buttons along with the membranes for the OEM versions. Though I haven't tried myself.
Thank you for this wonderful video sir! I plan to get my Froggy in tip top shape. : -)
Tell me please do you have any recommendations when searching for the best places to get box art?
Well thank you kindly. 🙂 As far as box art, to be honest I just used Google search for each game and chose images tab in Google. Once I find an image I like I right clicked it and saved image if it was a JPEG. If it's an unusable format I just use the built in program Snipping Tool and cut it out, then save it as a JPEG. I hope this helps. 🙂
Thank you for the helpful demo. Do you know if I can customize the boot logo and bgm after setting up purple neo?
You're welcome. And, thanks for watching. I honestly haven't tried purple neo yet so I'm uncertain.
Ironically the process corrupted some folders so I had to rebuild the disc image and start again.
Hmmm, I suppose it could be due to those cheap micro SD cards. Unless you changed to another already and it still happened. 🤔 Sorry to hear that.
here we go!
Yes indeed
Hell. Thanks for the great video.
Any idea what the battery fix do?
Thanks for watching. Suppose to make its consumption more accurate when it comes to the indicator.
@@snoleygamesthank for answering my question. I really appreciate 🙏🏻
@@the84don You're welcome friend.
Hey friend, appreciate your video. I am new to this. Where do I download the thumbnails? Thanks
Hey there. Thanks for watching. I just Google searched them and downloaded them that way. Some times you have to snag your own if they aren't the right format. I used Snipping Tool within Windows to do some of them.
I tried to dowlnoad the bootloader and battery fix, and followed the instructions but I see neither of them loading on the welcome screen when I turn on the console on. Any idea what I migth be doing wrong? I did update the firmware first, maybe the fix is already integrated with that?
There is a later version of the Tadpole app these days and it's possible that it may already be implemented. I'll have to give it a look. I've been sick with COVID and haven't been at my desk in a few days. If you don't notice any change and you have the latest firmware update it may be already there.
@@snoleygamesappreciate you answering, hope you'll feel beter soon!
@@yasminevrancx9173 Much love, thank you.
gracias, bastante util
Gracias por mirar y por tu tiempo.
thanks for the video. Is the snens performance better on that new firmware?
You're welcome friend. And sadly, not so much, it's still very hit or miss. However GBA, does see some improvement after the BIOS patch though.
Спасибо за инструкцию, очень помог.
Пожалуйста, друг. Спасибо за просмотр.
Amazing vid, thank you for all your hard work! Will this process also fix corrupted ROMs?
Thanks for watching. And as far as corrupted roms, I don't believe so. I haven't heard about it at least.
I found out now they sell versions with option for a controller that has a joystick, so far only the blue and yellow has option to include a wireless controller that has a joystick, all other ones i seen so far only had d-pads.
Oh nice! I have been wondering about that. 🤔 Are you able to link it?
Very good! I liked the video and subscribed to your channel. Can you provide an image of these changes you made so we can download it? I liked the result I would like to install this same version on my SF2000!
@skymussi Thanks so much I appreciate the like and sub. I'll look into uploading it to my Google Drive once I get a moment.
Back up your Bios and Resources folder just in case. Download and copy these files to the root of your micro sd and overwrite them. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CZjeJSS3q-jd4uB4CbV0Tro43Sh9ku7L?usp=sharing That should be all that you need. Just boot it up afterwards.
@@snoleygames Dude, I downloaded it and installed it on my SF2000, it was very good, thank you! I purchased a GB300 portable console, it has the same system as the SF2000. I hope the retro community can make changes to it too. Let's wait. Greetings from São Paulo/Brazil
To change the sd card for a branded one, it is just copy and paste or it needs a process?
Hello there. There is a process.
The manual that came with my SF2000 says "Do not attempt to copy the system TF card. Doing so will initiate a self-destruct program that enders the card unusable". Now I'm afraid to do any updates at all. Is it safe to do so?
Oh really? I didn't catch that. Well the cards that come with them are pretty...cheap. (As with a lot of these devices.) So that makes sense. Writing to a new one of better quality shouldn't be a problem though.
@@snoleygames So I went ahead and loaded Tadpole (win 10 PC) and inserted the card. Tadpole refuses to see the card and just says "No SF2000 detected" nothing on the program operates. I put the card back in the SF2000 and it runs fine. Haven't viewed the files with the PC yet.
Ok, everything is fine. Was able to do all the updates, bug and battery fix and nothing "self-destructed". Thank you for your video instructions. Tadpole worked after inserting back into the computer on the second try.
@@botronics Glad to hear it. Thanks for watching.
When i try to install multicore it downloads it but when it tries to extract it gives an error and it aborts.
I saw that Multicore was an option in the OS - Firmware section but I haven't tried that one myself. I may have to research it and do a follow-up video.
Thanks 👊💪
Thanks for watching.
can someone helpp. i followed a different video wish i saw this one first. made my sd corrupt and i had to format it. how do i get everything with the roms back to normal?
I found some info that may help: www.reddit.com/r/SBCGaming/comments/13ge9so/one_place_for_all_sf2000_modstools_and_info/?
There looks to be a google drive link with firmware version 1.5. Try that out and then update it to the latest via Tadpole as shown in this video. I hope this helps.
how can i upload my own music?
Good evening, I've never tried to add my own. If you navigate to the page below you might find 'some' info pertaining to it. github.com/vonmillhausen/sf2000#sounds
Thanks
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
How to take out the sd card from my sf2000?
I use the tip of a ball point pen cap. Not sure if I'm supposed to but it works. Finger nails might work 🤷🏾♂️
@@snoleygames Can u make tutorial pls? I still cant remove it.
@DuplexScripts I don't have it on me right now but I can try once get home from work.
Please DM me on Discord or Twitter and I can send a clip of how I do it. Link in description.
@@snoleygames I DMed you in Discord
Can this brick your device!!!?
The bootloader fix helps prevent that.
How to add other emulators/consoles ? 😮😊
There's a ROMS folder on the Micro SD card. Just drop them in there. The only other console it can run is Sega Master System. Once you've copied them in and go back to the handheld, you can find them in Games List/Roms on the main menu.
is this app also available for linux os?
As far as I know it's Windows only. .exe format
does this also applies if you have multicore installed?
I'm not sure.
Hello dear Can You play they King of fighters 2002 plus?
Hello there. That ROM wasn't included on the stock image, however I did try to add it via Tadpole and via the ROMs folder and neither would work sadly. It does have KOF '95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 2000, and 2004 Special Edition though. Those seem to run decently. Or were you asking me to showcase them?
👋
Hello hello
Can you only do this on windoze?
I only see a .exe for Windows unfortunately so it looks like you'll need to dual boot with Windows.
