Great discussion but I'm not so sure about this for everyone. I think it can be a hack for some tho. Would you call Noah's persona an alter or natural expression? I think it's natural. Marvin Hagler didn't have an alter. Floyd Mayweather didn't. Jim Brown didn't. Lawrence Taylor sure as hell didn't. Neither did Carl Lewis. MJ didn't have an alter. He just covered his raw Lion Truth with great taste. You should check out Sydney McClaughlin's book. She addresses a lot of this. Great work as always.
