Hi Phaedra, I'm so glad you're pushing through and not letting burnout get the better of you. I believe you are in a new season. Can't wait to see how you transform your flower garden. ❤❤😊😊😊
You are just the sweetest person . Your videos are so peaceful. A boy needs a dog.. and a property just calls for it. What a beautiful life you are creating. 😊 p.s getting very warm here in Brissy. 😊
🐶 and 🐈⬛ over here! We adopted a little runt kitten this summer and have been enjoying the little mini furball and his antics as he gets bigger and stronger. But love dogs too! Good luck keeping the unwanted critters away from the hedge!
Team 🐶❤ i do love cats too but i find them such heartbreakers with no road sense.💔 i really do like the look of a Pittosporum hedge they are tough as nails and make fantastic foliage for flower bunches, i have a varigated one called snow leopard and its very pretty... i work at an advanced tree nursery and sell these babies all day everyday my biggest advice for these would be to prune! The ones you put in the ground actually look a little root bound and stressed i would chop them in half (i know scary) but in return they will thicken up and put energy into the bare branches. ❤🎉
@@phaedragardeness yes they will! They will focus there energy on the lower half and just getting healthier all over then they will go up! They really don't take long to thicken and get twice as high 🥰
Piss-tos-por-um is how I break that shocking plant name down. We lost all of ours in the bushfires and haven’t planted them again as they went up so darn quickly. The wind here has been horrendous and our clean up here from that wont start until the wind finishes which could be another week from what the news keeps telling us. A bit of stress with bushfires starting really early around us in this wind over the past week has us very on edge. It’s just too early and its the windy month :( Our miniature greenhouses that we grow some of our seedlings in on our back deck flipped over during the night on Thursday and we lost everything we had planted and started. Now to start all over again. Thankfully the new high tunnel has survived so far the winds, but we are constantly keeping an eye on the temperature and wind direction so that we can try and keep the temp in there under 30. his unseasonal heat and wind has forced half of our patch of tulips to bloom and we’ve had to cut them as the wind was breaking their stems. Todays job will be hiding in the shed for a few hours building the peony cages so that we can try and stop the wind damaging them so much. The life of a flower farmer in Australia :) We are team cat and dog at our place and goldfish lol Have a wonderful weekend. Cheers Theresa
Oh gosh Theresa you really have had a very long stretch of trials on your farm :( I feel like you really live and breathe growing though, to keep pushing through and working on creating beauty. We are getting a little concerned about the upcoming fire season too, especially with no rain over winter. We were just talking today and tonight about the tasks we need to do to prepare for the season.
@@phaedragardeness its going to be a long hot summer I think and with no rain on the horizon the water tanks are dropping and we are shifting water around between the tanks as these will be the points on the farm that we can take on a fire if we have to. Another windy day here on the south coast expected. Wish your hubby a very Happy Fathers Day for today :)
That red belly!!!!! Nopppppe!! I’m finally able to start catching up on videos I’ve missed since started work and constant sickness since early July, so keen to see what you’ve been up to!
Our kids absolutely love our cavoodle, I would have loved a cavalier because the poodle x gives her playfulness and energy where as I prefer our couch potato greyhound . I would never get a lab or retriever too much energy when kids are at school and more expensive to feed and more to clean up after.
I enjoy the music you have in your videos...i hear them and it feels nice and familiar 🙂🎶🎸 Is it just me or was Moroni a bit too blazé about the snake? Glad you leave it to its own business though. Love the spring rains! With a good raincoat and boots it's so refreshing to be outside amongst it!
would love to have some walibi's in mij garden, but NOT around my camelias. I bought my camelias 5 years ago, and they were almost dead, but now they are 1,5 meters high and every spring full of blooms. Kind regards Joke.
Oh wow so there is hope for mine? Im reading between the lines and hoping that’s what you could mean!! The wallabies are lovely but gees the like to eat everything I plant!
If you are going to get a dog to play with James, get a golden retriever, they are one of the dogs that is most likely to become good friends with cats. We both are team both, except that Bruce is incredibly allergic to cats. When we bought our house on Cortes Island years ago, it came with a 7yr old cat and when she became too old to be an outdoor cat she became an indoor cat and Bruce had to take allergy pills every day. She lived to be 21 and moved to Campbell River with us and our two golden retrievers when she was 20.
@@phaedragardeness He had to take allergy pills until the day she died. Definitely Golden Retriever, if you google it, they are up there. As an example, one of our golden retrievers, Dax, was on a mission to make friends with all the neighbourhood cats for her whole life. She even learned to sit still and wait until they approached her. One neighbourhood cat would walk up to Dax and roll over so that Dax could lick her stomach.
Loving the pittosporum! I have a few variegated ones too, both are fab for me to use in arrangements, last for ever💖Epsom salts make a good tonic for camellias, that’s if they haven’t already been eaten😬. Also, was that a mimosa you showed us? Loved it whatever it is. I can’t grow mimosa here in the uk so very jealous if it is as it looks huge!😂. 💐💖
This is what I’m hearing, that it’s great in arrangements! I’m excited for that now!! I need to cage the camellias I think :( yes Mimosa! Although we don’t call it that here, we call it Wattle and it grows huge. I’ll get more footage of it for next Saturdays video for you :)
I cut all mine out of my back yard as they grew massive, had to be hedges all the time and took over my garden bed, which is about 3 meters wide, go with the screening in your garden bed your want regret it
So I'm team both!! But the cat distribution system needs to quit bringing us more cats!! ;) Can you clarify for me...are you guys done doing flowers completely? Or just for the winter so you don't have to buy wholesale. I thought I caught all your videos but in this one you said turning some of your flower fields into outdoor living spaces. Either way I'm still watching but you've been kinda helping me in my own flower farm journey ;) Blessings and prayers those privacy trees fill in well ;)
Hello!! Yes we are continuing with flowers! And correct.. we just stopped for the winter so we didn’t have to buy them in (and I had burnout, I really couldn’t manage it these past few months). But yes, the flower content will start again soon! Thankyou for sticking around!
Team all animals! The loud purr is deep contentment. Mine sound like trucks when they get and give a snuggle and it fills me with joy. 💕
Oh that’s lovely 🤍

Yes I feel like that too! It has made me rethink a lot of things!
Team 🐶 and 😺here, but don't have any at present. Lucky you and thank you for rescuing her!
What a worker you are! Loving your content, I’m binge watching 😂
Hello!! Wow Thankyou!!! I hope you enjoy the rest of my videos!

The thumbnail process made me laugh 😂
Team cat. We got a new kitten recently and it has totally bonded with our 10 year old boy. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Oh wow isn’t that gorgeous. Sometimes we find out soul animal don’t we 🤍

Instead of a hedge of all the same plant, maybe a mixed hedge of trees and shrubs. Mostly evergreens. Flowers shrubs?
Oooo I like that idea! I’d love to do some of these around the flower field!

What about a feijoa screen, edible 😃
We have a fejoa tree and I don’t like the fruit at all!! It does have beautiful foliage though!
@@phaedragardeness bummer, trying to think of other edible hedges…
Those trees are pronounced Pitt Oss Prum. I used to call them the same thing you do until a botanist corrected me.
