Just for everyone to make it clear these are my interpretations only and my opinions. This song titled D.A.M. Was recorded and was meant to release for system of a down’s first album. However due to the lack of time or something along those lines they gave up on the song and left it on Demo tape 1 and 4. It is also on the album that makes all their demo’s into one full set list titled ‘storaged melodies’. This song titled D.A.M. Was about a Armenian soldier that believed in god so much and in the one religion so much that he killed a whole group of his own allies. He tried protecting them when Daron sings “I got a disease”. But due to the religion gap he ended up murdering most of his allies in his group. This is proven when Daron sings “everyone is sleeping” it also resembles how much that society mentally wasn’t prepared or ‘awake’. I hope this cleared up a little bit of mess. Would love to have seen this progress further into their first album. It would have fit in perfectly right before peephole or before mind. And on the storaged melodies thing you can find it on UA-cam and Spotify but Spotify playlists don’t use the full set list. It’s quite a hard hitting set list so be prepared when going in. The reason mind was disturbing was obviously because of its subject matter and creepy bassline. Though yeah, I'd have to agree this is more disturbing. My interpretation is that this song is the opposite scenario of what mind presented.
i think this is about a soldier dying who went into war and killed a lot of people hence the lyrics “everyone is sleeping.” the lyrics “stay away from me, i got a disease” is the soldier saying to get away from him because he thinks he’s a murderer killing so many people.

It's their 3rd track on Demo Tape 1 which isnt actually their first ever demo tape, their actual first one is labelled as "untitled demo tape" which features a demo of Mr. Jack, a song called flake and a cover of The Metro. Although yes this first demo tape wasn't released to anybody, these songs existed months before sugar, suite pee, dam and pluck. Also, the comment you're replying to is literally a decade old.
