  • In this review, I'm going to take a look at another non-alcoholic beer on the channel, and it comes from the Deschutes Brewery (‪@deschutesbrewery‬), and it's their Fresh Squeezed Non-Alcoholic IPA. This is a non-alcoholic American IPA that is brewed with Citra and Mosaic hops. I recently reviewed the regular version of this one, so I thought it'd be fun to review the non-alcoholic offering and see how close the brewery came to nailing it. Did they? Let's find out!
    Commercial Description:
An Alternative To The Original Main Squeeze: A refreshingly familiar and balanced IPA with notes of bright citrus and tropical fruit.
So close to the original, you'll have to double check the can! Our non-alcoholic brewing process helps us preserve the bright, juicy aromas and flavors of orange and passionfruit that you enjoy with the "OG" Fresh Squeezed.

I love Go Brewing’s NA beers. Especially their IPAs, Pilsner, and Stout.

I have tried quite a few NA beers. Some of the beers that started out as NA, such as the Athletic Beers, are pretty good. The NA beers that are trying to mimic a specific alcoholic beer never seem to match up to the original. Although they can still be good, they are disappointing because we expect them to be the beer they say they are mimicking when they are not. I think if they would add 'inspired' to the title they would be better beers because we would not expect them to taste exactly like the original. I will pick this one up if I see it. The cuvee... yeah, don't do that! haha.

Yeah, my experience so far is that both Untitled Art and Athletic brew some of the better ones overall. I also enjoy Samuel Adams Just the Haze and Gold Rush. Both do a good job mimicking those styles to some degree. I think the biggest issue I have is the body and mouthfeel. Most of them are watery and thing because they're literally 0.5% ABV or less, and it's probably no feasible to fix those with ease. This was good, just not anywhere near the OG offering. Still fun to try, and I'm looking forward to the Black Butte NA Porter.
      Cheers, man!

Any chance of a Black Butte comparison as well?

Most definitely. Have a can of each in the fridge. It'll probably be closer to the end of the month/early next. Black Butte = one of my favorite American Porters, so I'm curious to see how it holds up.
      Cheers!
