- Pac-Man 99 is the latest Battle Royale game which is released for Nintendo Switch Online users. It's play for free as well as some additional DLC can be added to the game for new game modes as well as characters and custom themes. Here are all the themes in the game!

Fun facts:
1. Colorful is a Pac Arrangement reference.
2. The block and frame themes are references to Pac-Mania's Block Town and Pac-Man Park.

Slight shame they didn't make the Arrangement one have the sprites from that game.
I'm honestly more sad there wasnt Pac Mania sprites.
They remembered Valkyrie and Wonder Momo. I'm so happy.

Nah. Dig Dug gets enough love. It's Mappy that needs more love. Honestly in my opinion, Mappy is a much better game than Dig Dug and Pacman.

Can we talk about the other load of Namco games that haven't gotten attention in YEARS also being acknowledged?
Dig Dug is great, but they always port it every few years.
With some games here like Genpei Tōma Den, Bravo-Man, Wonder Momo and COSMO GANG, they have laid dormant, not being cared about.
It's really cool that when Namco references their other games in Pacman, They consistently brought up Mappy in recent years, especially in this game where it's a skin feature. Hopefully in the future, Namco actual more things with Mappy, like getting a new sequel and bring his entire series in modern consoles these days.

holy shit they did SUPER amazing work with all of these. also i hadnt even bothered to look at gameplay before this, but its cool its somewhat like Pac-man Championship Edition. and so many familiar faces and themes thanks to my brief stint with Namco X Capcom back in the day. its like Mario Maker's theme switching in a way.
also interesting to see stage themes that im sure are from the isometric Pac-man game. wonder why they didnt have the sprite work match?
I have no regrets buying the dig dug by using all my coins that I got from spending games on.
Mappy is also a really great game.

Bandai Namco certainly remembered the more obscure games: Sky Kid, Tower Of Druaga, Legend Of Valkyrie, Dragon Buster, The Return Of Ishtar, METRO-CROSS, Wonder Momo, The Genji & Heike Clans, Baraduke, Bravoman, Cosmo Gang & Toy Pop. 🎮
Namco Classic #4 is Dragon Spirit
#5 is Toy Pop.
(I only know those two because they had this classic namco machine that I played and the second was from the first Namco Museum) did anyone recognize Mappy?

If the gane cost money, yeah, tabt would be straight up unacceptable to pay for plractice mode, but its free - they don't wanna give you the whole game for free, just the online component

0:39 Did anyone else notice that he passed through the red ghost? How did he do that?
that's a mechanic in the original arcade game, you can cross paths with a ghost at the exact same moment you "swap" positions and seem to pass through the ghost. you can see there's a specific sound effect and visual effect when you do it in this game

@@risdorc the dlc was announced alongside the game, it was in the original trailer. I think its fine tho, the game is free - they give you the base experience for free with some extra themes and modes for a price.
