How to detect what is actually taking up the space in your system?
Here is how.
I'm on an older windows machine. This found so many OLD iTunes backups and huge apple files. Apple is a memory hog. Freed up 57GB! Thank you so much!

I don't know why I waited so long before typing "pc disk filling up for no reason" on Google and finding your video. I deleted so much important stuff just to regain few Mbs... I've been running on a completely maxed out 128gb SSD for years... Just yesterday, I had 136mb left.. The day before, I had 2gb left... The day before that, 228mb... So much pain and frustration. I do a lot of editing and Premiere couldn't even export a 220mb file..
Then I found this video. Amen. Was able to free around 30gb - and I wasn't thorough.

Thanks, it helped a lot! Apparently several log files in the CBS directory was taking up about 30 GB.
well this helped me a lot, I noticed that my hard disk is filling on its own so I came here to fix the problem and I downloaded the program and noticed that a text file is taking 100+ GB of space :D so I deleted it and everything is back to normal now :D Thank you so much !!!! Thanks! That's a very useful tool. I found out the problems were in my temp directory. The temp files being generated were huge! So I got rid of those and of course they keep coming back so I fixed the problem by using Microsoft's Process Monitor v3.50 to check to see where the whopping big files originated. Came from my anti-virus. Looks like it's time to replace it.

OMGGGGGG, THX SO MUCH. YOU HELPED ME WHEN I JUST WANNA FORMAT MY SSD (coz i thought all of this coz of virus). The problem that i got is from Microsoft SQL Server Dump folder. It took 100 GB+ of my memory!!!!!
This program helps !! My C drive had only 360 MB free space out of 910 GB. By manually scanning all the folders on drive C all i got was only 100 GB used.. With this program i founded out that my Norton (anti-virus) used 800 GB of the space, everything was in the folder "Incoming"

I wish that I had this app 2 weeks ago. It's vital to check any programs running in the background. I recently installed the iDrive backup program, and despite its many glowing reviews online, it suddenly started to eat up my C drive's disk space near capacity on the the 2nd day of having it. I uninstalled the program from "Programs and Features," and yet, my disk's memory kept draining out. Later, I found a leftover (and apparently still active) iDrive folder under Local Disk, and deleted it. Immediately, all of my disk space returned.

Wow.....Thanks a lot....I went to bed last night because I had just cleared about 200gb's off my hdd to make space and I woke up to find I had no space left.....again, I kept running chkdsk's and a defrag and all manner of things...Tried your method and come to find out a Unity Engine log file was consuming over 200gb's of space!!! Not to mention a Xbox Live for Windows game I had uninstalled a while back never got removed from my hdd and it was taking up 50gb's!! XD

You can delete the files from “C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER”.
not the folder but files inside. It is basically your crash dump memory, in future you can also disable this windows service to prevent it from collecting crash files.

I was trying to extract GTA IV from D drive to the same folder. But my winrar was installed on my C drive, and winRar always extract the files to its installed locaiton and then on copying the files to the extraction location.

If you are referring to the drive where your windows is installed then Yes, Please be aware of the operating systems files and folders, deleting important OS files will cause the windows to malfunction and not work properly.
Hello Abs Recon Solutions. I download the file and when I try to run it it says error."This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus." I have done pretty anything with this matter. Restore points,hibersys file etc....they worked one day. And now C space is 0 bytes again.
Try downloading the file with a different browser with your antivirus disabled also install the software on some other drive, as C appears to be full.

I kept uninstalling and uninstalling this might be the solution Delete your useless antivirus depending how the situation is.
If The antivirus software fills up your disk or Updates try to disable windows update.
Other thing that filling up the disk is the Useless windows 10 or 7 Updates.
or if you have files that is very high try to move them into a other disk if you have one.

I LOVE YOU for reference sake if you use adobe premier pro DELETE THE CACHED FILES i finished a let's play series like over a year ago and it still had cached files of that shit FUCKING almost 100GB WTF. also that program is so good i also like the collared GUI in the bottom really gives a nice representation of all the shit that is going on inside
for example one big block of data may look scary but what about the same size block built of of mini blocks that is fucking epic
