367 ppi is low on an Android phone, but 326 on an iPhone 6S is "A GORGEOUS FLAWLESS GROUNDBREAKING UNHEARD OF MASTERPIECE OF TECHNOLOGY!!" Literally how phone reviews are. The social bias towards Apple due to popularity is pretty ridiculous.
367 ppi is low for a 6 inch display... it doesn't matter the brand. The iPhone 6s has a 4.7 inch display, so that pixel density is not a dealbreaking. Duh.
And obviously it has good battery life. It doesn't have a QHD screen and it has a newer, more energy-efficient processor, not to mention a lot of extra space for a bigger battery since the phone itself is huge.
+Zp15 I wouldn't say the processors more efficient, just Clocked lower, and the battery is much larger 4000 mAh compared to 2500, plus everything else you said.
***** yes you can, they are the same architecture four a57 cores and four low power a53 cores. The processor in the a9 is closed lower and doesn't perform as good so overall the clock speed Is aligned with its overall performance (compared to the exynos 7420) I do admit I'm not sure what nm process this processes is based off of though, but she's comparing the s6 with a much smaller battery so the whole comparison is pointless, unless the a9 didn't have much better battery life then the s6 then we'd know the processor is NOT efficent. I'm comparing to the note 5 I have which gets 6 to 7 hours screen on time with a 3000 mAh battery (only 500 mAh more then the s6) and the same processor, a bump to 8 hours with a 4000 mAh battery seems very reasonable that's 1000 mAh more than the note 5 and 1500 mAh more then the s6 that's significantly larger and I'm sure the exynos 7420 would get that easily with the same battery, yes comparing it to the s6 active would give more context and I'm pretty sure people are getting 7 to 8 hours SOT with that too.
***** oh nah that'd be sick tho but I feel qualcolm might leave that only for the 820 and possibly whatever the 808 successor is, but yeah its too bad the active line doesn't get as much attention since it's exclusive but if the rumours are true Samsung is going to be increasing battery size for all of their flagships
Dan Baroja 2k is 1080p, you're talking about QHD. But anyway, my brother has the LG G3 and I have the Galaxy Note 3. I don't see any difference in sharpness, even though the note's display is bigger by 0,2 inches.
Aldo Gallegos Yeah, say that about battery technology that's been the same almost for 5 years. Technology has to advance, but for useful reasons. 1440p screens is just to show they have the biggest one.
Nagasaky2x no batteries have came from 500 mah to 4000 mah and there's fast charging extra fast charging, wireless charging, fast wireless charging. Etc.... Batteries have changed allot!
Aldo Gallegos Droid Charge from 2011 had 1600mAh, the thing is that now phones are way bigger (this one, the A9 is actually 1.7" bigger, and surely has way more inner place as miniaturization has advanced). You can take the iPhone 6 and it has around that mAh than the Droid Charge. They might have increased density, but not at the same rate they increased other things. About fast charging, well, I prefer long lasting batteries. Sometimes you don't have a charger, and many phones struggle just to make half a day. And wireless charging already existed, it's been around us for almost 20 years, they just were not used in smartphones (and it's still not really widely used). Anyway, they still use Li-Ion/LiPo technology with almost no changes. Let's hope next generation can bring some improvements here, heard that Sony was working on Lithium-sulfate batteries that could last ~40% longer, and Magnesium-Sulfate too.
The reviewer is going places. Good voice, good looks and good knowledge and presentation overall. Not sure how long Android Authority will be able to hold onto her.
Probably, but I'm sure the 652 comes close. It has faster cores than the 808 from last year, meaning it should be faster than phones like the LG G4 and Nexus 5x at least.
+Ariel Ayala yeah I know, and there are many more things that can be taken into account, like screen resolution. I was just being theoretical. Plus, the 652 has newer components, although I don't know if that will actually make a difference when it comes to graphics, cellular, battery life, etc.
you are starting to be killing it, krystal! 😃👍 definitely made my day with the possibility of the presence of a premium device with an amoled HD screen, nice desine, respectable camera and performance, expandable storage and 8HRS of SOT!! 😍 if there were just an s pen here i wud leave my beloved note 4 with its note5-ported rom right now!! yes i use it as a guy who takes alot of notes n does some pic editing.. but nothing is perfect 😔
I recently gave in and bought the z3 tablet compact LTE as my main driver. I know it's old, but I've always wanted one. 8.5hrs on screen time w/ 28% left at the end of the day w/ constant textbook reading/web surfing. If this A9 has that much battery life too, then screw the size. Leaving the house at 60% and still surviving the rest of the day is a game changer. truly.
+zyx ran and notes one isnt a small one .. me personally prefer quick charge over a biger batery .. although a9 has fast charging i dont think its faster than the note 5 one .. i have note 5 my self .. from 10 to 100 in just 1 hr and 15 mins ..
Renado Çifliku i never said note has a small battery don't put words in my mouth, i don't know why you're offended or trying to prove a point, a9 has a bigger battery better SoT that's the top priority for me, for you it might be different and there is nothing wrong with that
+zyx ran i said me personally .. so i said what i prefer .. and yah anybody has its own taste on phones .. but believe me that this phone doesnt compares to the note at all .. actually nothing does :p ( in my oppinion always )
The A9, other than its size, is my "modern" Samsung dream phone. Awesome battery and performance. But then again, I cant quite imagine myself using a 6" phone, even though its bezel is much thinner than my Note 4. I appreciate the review much more than her other review for the lack of "distraction" in this one keep it up !!
How is 1080p LOW RESOLUTION, and she complains when phones have 720p resolution THEY ARE BOTH GREAT resolutions and WAY BETTER than cheap phones with 540x960 and 216-245 ppi
loved the cinematic 2.69:1 widescreen, but was glad it went back to 16x9. And the morphing phone size was so cool. great review. only wish you'd shown some low light/nighttime photo samples.
This is very much a mid-tier device and is simply a larger version of the A5 and A7 (As well as the weaker A3). Should not really be compared to the S6.
+Alexis Dumas AA simply told us the price they saw on US Amazon posted by random resellers. The retail price where this phone is officially marketed is less than $500. Yes it's still not cheap but not in the same range as S6 (at least when it was launched)
I'm happy to see the MSD card slot come back, it really gives some weight to the rumors that Samsung will bring it back for the S7. The S6 has always been kind of my max usable size (Because I use my phones one handed) so this one isn't for me, but I'm excited to see how Samsung listening to its customers and bringing it back.
I will wait a year then get this phone. It looks really promising with the battery, processor, and all the features it has. I think it would be a great upgrade from my Note 3.
A 1080p, 367ppi screen is "grainy" is it? I do hope you talk about the less than 720p resolution (will be 326ppi) on the new iphone SE, although I know you'll just praise it's gloriously sharp and beautiful screen.
Midrange market usually caters to the selfie crowd so its no surprise it packs a 8mp front camera. Though they did take a page out of Sony, premium midrange with a hefty price tag.
most middle range smartphone still put 720p on their 5" screen, and it still look great. so if anything that has more ppi than that, it still can be considered as sharp..
the review is great and this device is cool but seriously a "lower end" model gets memory expansion and thickness gets increased for a bigger battery but why not on their flagships? a thicker phone with more battery life is a great trade off
This is actually quite the surprise. As a current Note 5 user (former Note 4, former Note 3), I have high hopes for the Note 6 including a micro SD slot and significantly larger battery. Quite frankly, I could see myself using this phone. The 1080 resolution and lower camera quality is not preferred, however the 8 hours of SOT on a 6" display definitely would allow me to overlook those "set backs." I'm really hoping to see the Note 6 include 4k or greater mAh battery, SD card expansion and even a 6" fitting the Note 5's footprint. At the very least, this phone has clearly leaped past the Galaxy Mega, lolz.
I bought a black onyx samsung galaxy S7. and i am 100% satisfied. No complains. And we're in the getting to know well stage at the moment, and there are lots of exciting hidden features inside. it is a very good phone. a very classy and elegant smartphone. Samsung did really a great job with the S7. And really fits my hands. But If i want a bigger phone, i will go for the next samsung galaxy note, because i like the S-pen. I wish Samsung will make a smaller Galaxy Note. a 5.5 display. I thank Samsung for listening to our wishes.
I really like that samsung phones have touch buttons and physical one separated from the screen. I don't understand people like to press the screen for basic commands plus all the functionality and screen space lost. One thing samsung should think again is the removable battery.
You can disable Briefing though instead of complaining it 3-4 times in this video. I'm still using A7 and still lagged with 5.0.2 os, which perhaps, 5.1.1 will come out for A7 soon asap. How I wish A9 should come out with wireless charging capability. I hope S7 will sports USB type C, USB 3.1 or thunderbolt ultra fast charging with new battery technology.
1080p is NOT low resolution. It's the smartest thing with this smartphone. I would love to see the S7 with a 1080p screen resulting in better battery life and performance.
Nexus 7 second generation (7-inch Full HD) looks sharp and all reviewers praised its screen for sharpness. Now, how can 6-inch Full HD look blurry? What do you have microscopic eyes?
ppi on a big phone is actually less important because when watching videos you hold it farther away from your face thanks to the screen size, a 4inch screen with the same ppi would suck. 1080p is fine
Great video! And I tell you in I wasn't in love with my Note5 I would get this phone what a steal for $600 you cant go wrong! Fingerprint scanner, good camera with IOS & best of all Samsung Pay witch I personally have fell in love with! Now Samsung needs to make a smaller version but a few hundred dollars lower & they'll be back on top in no time! #TeamSamsung
Krystal Key is on Android Authority?? I've been behind because I feel like I was just watching her videos from her own channel.. Either way I like watching her
The intro looked like a well produced movie. Awesome video
Haha so true 😜
Cade Del Rey trueeeeee
367 ppi is low for a 6 inch display... it doesn't matter the brand. The iPhone 6s has a 4.7 inch display, so that pixel density is not a dealbreaking. Duh.
Yeap, that's common in the technology sites and vlogs
Well done! These intros u do are thee best!
+TechMe0ut Thanks girl!
+Krystal Key nice review and you are beautiful too :-)
+TechMe0ut Yeah, I liked the intro too. Kind of an art house, indie movie vibe going on there. Did Krystal team up with Hal Hartley on this one?
+TechMe0ut hey look at my channel name. lol. Interesting. but yes that intro was nice.
+TechMe0ut Im going to sub to your channel now.
I thought the intro was an ad. lol
TheNOGarcia lol same

Android better than iPhone like if u agree
+Scorpion no.
Android Sucks
+Omair Khan For what reason exactly
+Omair Khan then why are you here XD
+Scorpion an os > phone
???
im so glad they hired you! your video edits and your reviewing style are the best imo !
That looks better than Galaxy S6 flagship specially the Battery seriously I can't understand Samsung !!
Well it came out a year later.. I mean are they supposed to make their new phones ugly??
And obviously it has good battery life. It doesn't have a QHD screen and it has a newer, more energy-efficient processor, not to mention a lot of extra space for a bigger battery since the phone itself is huge.

You have become my second favorite reviewer on Android Authority. Good job!!!
I don't see why 1080p with over 350 ppi is a low resolution. Even the iPhone 6s doesn't have more than 326 ppi.
Ikr. i let out a very audible "are you fucking kidding me?" when she mentioned that.
+scourned7
I agree. Full HD is even on a 10 inch tablet okay.
Compare a FHD screen resolution to a UHD side by side. A world of difference. 2k screen is the standard now idk why Apple stuck with 750p with the 6s
Dan Baroja 2k is 1080p, you're talking about QHD. But anyway, my brother has the LG G3 and I have the Galaxy Note 3. I don't see any difference in sharpness, even though the note's display is bigger by 0,2 inches.
+Dan Baroja battery life I am presuming also they don't need to load their phones with the latest tech to sell a bajjillion .
finally your back!! you kno how boring UA-cam was without you!?
When 1080p came out "why would you want 1080p on a phone?". Now it sucks. This is going insane. We've lived with
they won't you can't stay in the past.
Aldo Gallegos

The screen size is 4inch btw
The reviewer is going places. Good voice, good looks and good knowledge and presentation overall.
Not sure how long Android Authority will be able to hold onto her.
What is she talking about? The galaxy s6 is faster than the a9, processor and gpu wise.
Probably, but I'm sure the 652 comes close. It has faster cores than the 808 from last year, meaning it should be faster than phones like the LG G4 and Nexus 5x at least.
+Zp15 don't trust always in the numbers, you know that optimization and UI makes a difference
+Ariel Ayala yeah I know, and there are many more things that can be taken into account, like screen resolution. I was just being theoretical. Plus, the 652 has newer components, although I don't know if that will actually make a difference when it comes to graphics, cellular, battery life, etc.
+Ariel Ayala So true
You may think so. But look at the speed tests.
you are starting to be killing it, krystal! 😃👍

the only problem with samsung is updates and UI :/
CM
+sush2142 well for my Samsung galaxy tab pro was very easy to get CM13
+MLG dogLV cm roms are good thats why i love sammy lol
+Renado Çifliku I still love the tuchwhiz but I put on the cm13 because it was stuck on android ktkat on the high end tablet
And ram management.
finally! someone did a nice review about this phone. been waiting for this for months already. sadly, the price tag pulls me off away from this
You are the Best krystal ♥
+houssein gharsa nah you the best
+sush2142 hahaha😂
+sush2142 I would too

$485!!!!! rather buy nexus 6p
+Nafeeur Rahman sadly yes, Samsung seems to have iPhone-profit-margin on their Super-Midrange devices
absolutely right
+Nafeeur Rahman Wholeheartedly agree
Buy a one plus two instead !
+indiankid1992 op2 sucks compared to this
That was an awesome intro!
i would buy this over the s6 and note 5 any time of day simply because of the battery life
note 5 has great batery too .. and it can charge toooo faaast so u wont need a bigger batery trust me
Renado Çifliku a bigger battery is always better
+zyx ran and notes one isnt a small one .. me personally prefer quick charge over a biger batery .. although a9 has fast charging i dont think its faster than the note 5 one .. i have note 5 my self .. from 10 to 100 in just 1 hr and 15 mins ..

waow good intro , you're the first one doing a review on the A9 , been long time that i waited for it
Why many reviewer have a mac running behind them, it's like "hey look I have a mac"
Just got this phone in the mail today, so far I'm loving it!
They should put that battery in the next Note.
Kristal, your reviews are the best! Thank you!
you guys should hire more cute girls on Android Authority lol
That doesn't come across at creepy _at all_
Ikr
😲💧🚣thirst is real.
+sundance kidd eewwww! Can you just don't tell everybody that you're gay?! Just keep it on yourself! 😷🤒
+Izzat Idrus what's wrong with being gay? 😅
love the transitions you use also the effects great opening !!
A9 officially my new fav phone :)
your honestly one of my favorite youtubers
That is not the A9... at least tell people that in the title. The A9 has no home button and has four cameras. 🤦🏻♂️
The A9, other than its size, is my "modern" Samsung dream phone. Awesome battery and performance. But then again, I cant quite imagine myself using a 6" phone, even though its bezel is much thinner than my Note 4.
I appreciate the review much more than her other review for the lack of "distraction" in this one
keep it up !!
I love how the name of a Samsung phone is the name of an Apple CPU...
and...? it's just a letter and a number.
"I love it how apple copied Samsung with the letter S on their iphones. hue"
nope its manufactured by Samsung so all good in the hood
apple fans just try to say on any chance
the samsung phone is square
Like the iphone!!!
come on.. grow up..
drxylus I am fully aware of that, for your information. I merely was indicating how it was an interesting coincidence.
Mace Windu It's not interesting at all.
Amazing review! Best reviewer in android authority! Waiting for a5 and a7 review!
Damnnnnn !!! You look hotter than the A9 Pro
Something about her voice makes me keep watching. And I'm a professional voice talent so that says a lot. Good job on the review.
How is 1080p LOW RESOLUTION, and she complains when phones have 720p resolution
THEY ARE BOTH GREAT resolutions and WAY BETTER than cheap phones with 540x960 and 216-245 ppi
Dragunov778 I'm using 480p screen
Shaheer Akhtar now that is a shitty phone, my iPhone cost more re than anyone's life
Twunk I love my iphone
1080 super enough
hey Krystal, I like how your videos have a new take on phone reviews
$600? The Galaxy S6 is around 450 ... better camera, better chipset, updating to marshmallow...
loved the cinematic 2.69:1 widescreen, but was glad it went back to 16x9. And the morphing phone size was so cool. great review. only wish you'd shown some low light/nighttime photo samples.
I have galaxy A9 ,best mobile midrange
Wow! Superb review 😍 that Cinematography tho 🤘I wish you luck for your reviews 😊😊
This is very much a mid-tier device and is simply a larger version of the A5 and A7 (As well as the weaker A3). Should not really be compared to the S6.
Mid-tier ... 600$ phone, more than the s6 today.
Alexis Dumas oh damn did not even know it was THAT expensive. Well, this is just another phone that's not really made for anyone I guess.
+Holger Lindh Not entirely true. I've been waiting for a better version of the Mega 6.3 and it looks like this is it.
+dragonfist25 yeah sure but then a Huawei Mate 8 is a waaaaaay better buy as long as you can avoid the EMUI.
+Alexis Dumas AA simply told us the price they saw on US Amazon posted by random resellers. The retail price where this phone is officially marketed is less than $500. Yes it's still not cheap but not in the same range as S6 (at least when it was launched)

nexus than these.nexus master race
cringe.
yeah i agree, i have a Nexus 6p 🤘
I have to say, your reviews are the best
so... many... samsung... phones... and... they... all... look... the... same...
yup
At least they look nice (-:
that's what's great with samsung. you can have a variety of phones to choose from with different capabilities with same designs but not most
+rimma rafosala The same design isn't always good wtf
+LeafyIsPinecone but some are tho which is why samsung still make their phones with same design bc majority likes it
Love the cinematographic intro !
watching this on my a9 lol
G.M Tehami lol
I will wait a year then get this phone. It looks really promising with the battery, processor, and all the features it has. I think it would be a great upgrade from my Note 3.
I don't find the 367ppi a problem. Who does?
The intro is amazing!
Congractulations! This intro looks like it came from a movie.
A 1080p, 367ppi screen is "grainy" is it? I do hope you talk about the less than 720p resolution (will be 326ppi) on the new iphone SE, although I know you'll just praise it's gloriously sharp and beautiful screen.
How you do this? 01:55 How software is used to edit videos? I meant, how to do the word "fly" like moves the phone?
I was waiting for this review 😍 you did it so good, thank you ✌💜
Midrange market usually caters to the selfie crowd so its no surprise it packs a 8mp front camera.
Though they did take a page out of Sony, premium midrange with a hefty price tag.
i love the cinematic intro of the video... very creative!!!
i want a full review for Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro and compare it with Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus
Which series is better the Samsung A series or the Samsung C series?
I want this phone. I used to have a galaxy mega and now this is just a major upgrade to that.
most middle range smartphone still put 720p on their 5" screen, and it still look great. so if anything that has more ppi than that, it still can be considered as sharp..
Is this available through T-Mobile??
the review is great and this device is cool but seriously a "lower end" model gets memory expansion and thickness gets increased for a bigger battery but why not on their flagships? a thicker phone with more battery life is a great trade off
Hey!, I noticed something, 💭 you keep getting better, & Better, in making your - "Reviews"!, GREAT job, Nice VID, & Great Pic shots, 📷📸
Dope intro. It'd be cool if you did a video (on this or your own channel) about the camera gear you use.
A very good review of the Samsung A9. Thanks for the review. Will any future Galaxy S phones come with a 4000mAh battery?
Pisses me off that there has yet to be an A9 black model in my location. Same deal with the A9 Pro model.
you can turn off homescreen flipboard briefing by holding your finger on homescreen and going in wallpapers setting.
This is actually quite the surprise. As a current Note 5 user (former Note 4, former Note 3), I have high hopes for the Note 6 including a micro SD slot and significantly larger battery. Quite frankly, I could see myself using this phone. The 1080 resolution and lower camera quality is not preferred, however the 8 hours of SOT on a 6" display definitely would allow me to overlook those "set backs."

At the very least, this phone has clearly leaped past the Galaxy Mega, lolz.
great review!! I've been waiting for the review to decide and it helped! thanks!
You are amazing K... N the most beautiful looking tech reviewer till date... ☺️ great asset to Androidauthority team.
How can you use the phone with thick gloves 5:14 ?
dang, Josh and the gang should step up their video editing skill coz she literally killin it.
I really like that samsung phones have touch buttons and physical one separated from the screen. I don't understand people like to press the screen for basic commands plus all the functionality and screen space lost. One thing samsung should think again is the removable battery.
the intro is a killer. 💙
Great review as always.
I would like to see such a review for the Huaweia P8 Max
Great review. I'm not really into this phone but I enjoyed watching the video. Keep it up.
Thank you for the review. Does this phone come with a fast charger and multi tasking features?
Will u be doing an A9Pro (2016) review, and comparison to the original A9?
I have the s7 and it works great in every way but now I want a bigger samsung phone, should I go for the a9?
Great review! Does it get 4G LTE with T-Mobile USA? Also, does it come with the Google Playstore pre-installed?
You can disable the briefing screen in the launcher settings.
Wow!!! Great review, quality is on point!
So what is being shown and tested for lwtting us know about the S7 is a SD slot, improve battery life and works on a better front facing camera.
Wow. I always wanted a newer version of the Mega. This appears to be that. Great review. I will wait to see if it gets M first. What is the price?
Completely unrelated but can anyone give me a link for the wallpaper on the nexus she compared it to at 1:17?
1080p is NOT low resolution. It's the smartest thing with this smartphone. I would love to see the S7 with a 1080p screen resulting in better battery life and performance.
Also the price now for the A9 is 320$ on AMAZON
317$ on ebay!
Ruslan Kirienko if I was you I would just get it from Amazon from a trusted source
I dont found it on amazon, can you send me a link?
Nexus 7 second generation (7-inch Full HD) looks sharp and all reviewers praised its screen for sharpness. Now, how can 6-inch Full HD look blurry? What do you have microscopic eyes?
Why did she said that the display is a little fuzzy with 367ppi when the iPhone 6s has only 326ppi and its still looks sharp?
ppi on a big phone is actually less important because when watching videos you hold it farther away from your face thanks to the screen size, a 4inch screen with the same ppi would suck. 1080p is fine
Really good video but could you recommend this over the nexus 6P
This cinematic intro is a dope!
+ZRILE55 thank you! :)
I'm so jealous of you, I can't watch the video, but I'll upvote it to support the channel and choice of phone :(((
Great video!
Either way I like watching her
1:17 How did you change the Menu Design of the 6P ? Is this an App? Thank You !
