Freddy is an all in one, he's brawny and not aggressive and while he is naive, he's not stupid, I could say chica is kinda stupid too. I feel bad for Freddy, because he’s truly concerned for us and wants us to escape. I really think that previous history of just the franchise has really gotten to him, hence the reason why he wants to save us and other children. He’s a hero and a great face and somebody who needs to be represented a lot better.
Does he know about the past? Like... Does he know about his "past selves" or why his friends are like this? Apparently no, but when we go to see secret boss, he seems... weirdly aware of who he was supposed to be and what's happening. How he forgot that?

I tried calling Freddy while using the elevator while he was a floor above me. The elevator shook with tremendous ferocity as if the cables could snap at any moment. The doors opened and I walked out. Freddy was glitching through his floor and mine, attempting to run in a place that didn’t seem to register to him. He was stuck, perpetually shaking the ground on a nonexistent floor. I walked to the next room to summon him, where he somehow turned out fine.
