Good Samaritans Smash Truck Windows of Driver Who Passed Out

- A group of good Samaritans are speaking out about saving an unconscious man slumped over the wheel of his pickup truck on a busy Georgia interstate. Several people began pummeling the vehicle’s windows with whatever they could grab, including a sledgehammer, a stroller and a tire jack in an attempt to reach the driver inside. Video shows the truck drifting down the highway in Atlanta as strangers ran alongside it, trying to get the motorist’s attention before finally breaking his rear window.
People coming together to save a stranger, that’s what we need more of.

I’ve choked on many food pieces and all of them were in front of people but they were too busy talking than paying attention.

A guy missed me by inches while sitting outside at work because he suffered a medical emergency similar to this one and the car was rolling by itself. I just heard it hit the wall, didn’t even see it coming and when we viewed the cameras was the first time I realized that I almost checked out.
Wow this made me cry. My husband was driving home one night last month, we were on the phone and all of a sudden the phone went silent, I held on anyway. I knew something wasn't right. He had passed out and ran into a row of flexible-like, thin trees. He's okay as well, and thank God for the people who's yard he ran into. They gave him a blanket, talked to him, stayed with him and got my number from his phone to call and let me know where he was! I get chills and tear up every time I think about it. I'm also thankful he didn't hurt anyone in the process. I'm glad this man was ok...to think he was on the highway is so scary.

PSA: The front side glass on newer vehicles in laminated (like your windshield) and no longer shatters like tempered safety glass. To gain entry use a small surface area object in the UPPER or LOWER corners of the glass on the REAR windows. Impacting the center of the glass will not break it. BONUS PSA: The ceramic portion of a spark plug top will shatter tempered glass if thrown at it. I keep a piece in my fire gear at work. It's worked hundreds of times.

Same thing happened to me while I was driving a truck on the freeway. Except nobody helped me and I ended up crashing into a Boulder and landed in a pond and nearly drowned. I'm glad people helped this man instead of letting something bad happen.

Good to see. As an over-the-road driver I witnessed too many times where it felt like if I didn't pull over and help no one else would. I've seen wrecks where people just kept going about their day instead of stopping. In southern Indiana once I saw a wreck happen right behind me. I pulled over and assisted. I heard one of the passengers speaking and realized he was speaking Korean. I asked in Korean, I did 2 tours, where was he hurting and informed medics when they arrived. New drivers would ask why I carried tools like a hammer, crowbar, blocks and this is why. You never know...

Basic instinct to assume such things. If we didn't we also could be in pretty bad situations. Many stories of people saving someone from someone else dodgy is from a visual assumption of their appearance. It's of course something that depends on each individual case and I understand what you mean but sometimes thinking the worst of what you experience and see can be very useful.
Blame the media. If you muted the audio, this footage resembles a riot from the past year The media has conditioned a lot of people to think this way, yet here they shame us for thinking so when the opposite happens.
As for people in this vid, it's good to know them and many more exist and my faith in humanity is still here.

Exactly what I was thinking. The driver could at any moment make knee jerk reaction and hit the gas pedal injuring them, but they took that risk. God bless them.

Could you imagine what would happen if some random idiot called the police and said they saw a group of black people attacking a white man on the highway??? I firmly believe you should always help in a situation like that, but sometimes the optics could also get u killed for doing the right thing.

This could of gone seriously wrong for him, someone else could've hit his car or he could of gotten heat stroke, its not only kids that can be killed by being trapped in a hot car.
